Great video. Thanks Ethernet Blueprint!
Thank you fro this video!
Are you sure it's dpi or just url filtering? it would seem like dpi on such a low powered device such as an ap would come with a significant performance penalty to anything connected. I am happy there seems to be competition with Ubiquiti. I hope then can get developed enough to offer a dedicated controller and a proper firewall/gateway.
Awesome helpful. Can you share best ways to setup and build a home network for new built? Much appreciate it!
I’ll have some videos very soon diving into that. Anything specific you’d like to know about?
@@ethernetblueprint thank you yes, I am running CAT6 cables on a 2 Level Residential home and wanted some help to identify the layout setup design for running all CAT6 wires from each room, ceiling for ceiling mounted access points to be homerunned/terminated into a Switch? and the switch being connected to a Modem/Router? setup by the ISP. Little fuzzy on how the actual setup runs or what are the options for this type of setup and/or should you use Mesh type of setup and if so what is the difference between a Mesh Seup plug and play vs a access point to switch setup? Pro's/Con's? Thanks again for the help
Good video! I love these ap's 20000x better then Unifi. I wonder if all the engineers that left Unifi that went to Alta will improve and do neat things too !! I'm just working on my video for them also. BTW how to message / email you ?
Thanks for the feedback. You can reach me anytime at tim@ethernetblueprint.com
So interesting but they show two vendors for shopping but you have to register just to see prices. Is this correct?
For Unifi, the prices are on the website. (Store.unifi.com). I am told that Alta Labs is working diligently to get their products on Amazon. At the time of recording, they were only avail through certain distributors...
Our Access Points are officially on Amazon! Switches coming to Amazon soon!
@@AltaLabs Awesome! Love the fact that AltaLabs talks to the user community is a PLUS!
A device that doesn’t work without their cloud, what could ever go wrong… Once it does a Google Stadia or Amazon Glow, does it become just an expensive e-waste?
They are working on a local controller. Supposed to be released soon.
It doesn't. No non-cloud controller yet. which means nope for a lot of people. they SAY one is coming until that happens.
They have moved that up to the top of the roadmap... its coming!
I talked to their CEO two weeks ago at WISPAPALOOZA (conference) and saw their switches. Locally hosted controller is on the road map as a high priority (since basically everyone at the conference was really wanting that).
CEO is a really cool guy and they are putting a big emphasis on being very community oriented.
Don’t buy expensive things on promises but on actual features - consumers get duped so easily.
