i love the whole eldritch abomination theming in the enemies and scenery, it gives sheol a LOT more personality instead of just being some dark cave with evil enemies in it
plus it fits considering the whole leviathan transformation you can get from having enough "evil" items
Would be cool if the leviathan transformation would also get psy tears.
I think my favorite part in Sheol are the new psychic enemies. It makes me thing it's what the enemies in Mausoleum are worshipping and gain their powers from

@@dochatter3638 I think. We have the Blood Cultists from the base game + the new cultists in Fiend Folio. Both the Mausoleum and Gehenna enemies source their powers from the denizens of Sheol; psions for Mausoleum, demons for Gehenna. The Dread Maw, Dread Weaver, And Thrall enemies having a chance of appearing in Gehenna as well as Ms. Dominator just existing pushes the theory further

Mausoleum has the theme elegant and mystical dark arts, while Gehenna is ragged and diabolic sacrificial altar

I love how the Psi Hunter almost adds some story to this floor. Like it used to be ruled by demons until the “psionic eye species” took over, and now the Psi Hunters are here to clear them back out. Probably thinking way too into it, but it was a neat little detail.
Gotta love the room names they add,especially that Star Wars reference with psi hunter
I love the idea of this sort of eldritch invasion of Hell, to the point where there are even dedicated demons who work towards fending off psionic creatures. Makes Sheol just that much more interesting!!

That is how I felt when all our friends met a girl who we all became fast friends with, except for a friend of mine who became her boyfriend. Iirc in the original fiend folio mod page, it said that Psion and his kind are in a constant fight with the sheol inhabitants for domination, basically being an invasive kingdom.
This is the reason why Psion can almost always appear as a mini boss in sheol.
That explains Psi Hunter and why he has the appearance of a demon.

Loving the Psion themes, giving it a feeling of all those evil monsters isaac learned from D&D, taking inspiration from the beholder. Makes the whole place feel like an ancient, eldritch plane rather than dark cave #3
Another thought, maybe I'm overanalyzing but if Mausoleum worships the Psions maybe Gehennea worships the other demonic enemies, the Dominated seem straight out of Gehenna even.

I think the Psions are more like Obiriths. Makes sense also why regular demons(i.e. tanarri) kill them on sight.
There were so many new cool enemies you didn’t show because they were added after your videos about them. I’d love to see regular update videos about the new enemies after this main series ends. I love these videos.

I thought for a second the Psi-hunter would be so unbalanced in room with many enemies, but once I saw him go against other enemies? Changed my mind on that one
Really cool mod so far, I won't play it cause I'm too bad at mod Isaac, but it really looks good
They basically attack all psi-based enemies, which makes sense for obvious reasons ^^

@@Retold. You dont even need friendly ball. There is a rare card that can summon him anywhere in the run, and he is by far the best familiar/friendly enemy in the game. He alone can solo few early floor bosses and can easily not get hit in most rooms, being able to survive almost the entire floor and more, all while other enemies die in the first or second room.

The floor patterns seem to be a nod to Gyigas I'd imagine.

I appreciate the fact they fleshed out the cathedral and sheol so much because at that point they basically have no presence due to the fact you harass through so hard, i wish they had given the chest and dark room the same treatment though
chest and dark room are basically just enemies from all chapters meet up which is nice
I like the visual overhaul they gave chest but I think it would be hard to give floors Themed around mishmashing enemies from all chapters together its own mechanical identity like they did with the rest of the floors.
@@Topaz542 alright yeah chest got some really nice changes with the dolls and plushies making it look great, wish i could say the same about dark room though, it got one random enemy and not much else, a shame seeing how chest got done so much better
@@Topaz542 I feel like with Chest you at least have the "toy box" theme to go off of for potential enemies, but for Dark Room I'm not sure what you'd do there lol

It's very interesting how most areas now have multiple themes. For an example, this one having psionic enemies next to demonic ones.

[realizes what the cauldron is for] i always knew butchers knife aides enemies more then it hurts them (unless you have piercing or brimstone then you basically do double damage)
Psi hunter actually attacking psi enemies is a pretty cool feature. The resistance to brimstone it inherits from behaving like the calling card familiar (which seems to be like a mini satan anyway, pretty reasonably showing its brimstone resistance) is also a really neat and unique interaction for an enemy.
The Calling Card actually just summons a friendly Psi Hunter, the enemy came first.
The sound design on the Psionic enemies are exquisite. So weird but satisfying.
Psi Hunter has so many cool rooms where they slay tons of psi enemies in funny ways! I wish I could have shown more but that would miss the point of the video 😅Such a menace!

I love how psi hunter hunts well, the psilings since they are invaders after all (basically the story is that psilings are all from another dimension and want to take over sheol)

i love the theme of the psy enemies, their alien appearance and the fact that the psy hunter exists tells a story by itself, of a weird lovecraftian lifeform (the psion) that has invaded the sheol and satan's forces actively trying to repell it. when it comes down to it they are both evil so of course both still very much attack isaac regardless
Psi hunter’s pretty unwily for a foe, killing practically everyone in the room before Isaac.
Plus, that spin-slash and defence against brimstone is pretty crafty!
The Psi Knight seems like a cool concept, because I think enemies attacking other enemies could be a cool concept, and could imply that not everything is specifically out to get you.
Also I could imagine a concept where it has a chance to appear in rooms where it shouldn't be, like jumping out of a secret room to attack everything. (or maybe an item that spawns one of them to help you?)

The dynamic between Psi enemies and Psi hunters, and the feeling of war between the two, is nice.
I have an idea, make the eyes on the walls follow where ever you go, giving Sheol a even more creepy vibe
my favorite thing about the fiend folio sheol is the redesign of the walls and flooring. i cannot STAND how dark it is in the base sheol. i cant see anything, it's like curse of darkness permanently without the little aura of light around isaac. i play with low screen brightness due to health issues a bright screen causes me and i literally get discouraged from going dark room because of how daunting the level design of sheol is on the eyes

7:12 this 'sombra' enemy reminds me of the 6th boss from the Flash Game called "Legend of Johnny", literally the same concept, but it gets paralyzed when it's exposed to any source of light.

@@Coreagrus Unfortunately, I played it on Y8 and 10 more other sites that support the game and the intro cutscene is gone, the ending cutscene is gone (just crashes the game), the "Continue" button after you rejoin the server with the game is gone and cannot have access to "Hardcore" mode...

At this point it's not just that the enemies in the floor have dynamics and cooperate with one another, it's become a full on ecosystem complete with native predators that hunt down both the player and other enemies. It kind of reminds me of the Harvest Sphere in the first Prey

Think what i like about these enemies is the fsct they arent just all attack you only enemies. They have interactions and the whack a worm actually has a trail of where it is at instead of teleporting allover the place.

I tohught the same hobwstly, semeed loek more of a moni-bpss than jsut an enemy mainly by design, minibosses tend to have the more large and/or elaborate designs comapred to enemies to make them syand out
Like how Psion (i think thats it's name) is veey distinct from all the other psi-typed ebemies in Sheol despite the similar resemblances

Figuring out what each FF Floor represents in Isaac’s mind (because I’m bored)
Isaac knows about hell, that much is obvious. But what happens when he hears about something eldritch? Maybe at his local library? Uh oh! Idea clash!!
“If these exist, where are they now? In hell? Are they what demons really are? I don’t know! They seem like it! I’m so confused!!”
That’s what this is. Considering there is at least 4 interpretations of Hell in this game, I imagine Isaac has no fucking idea what it is or what’s in it and had to come up with things himself, and thus got sent into a spiral on which interpretation is real like his imagination somehow lost the script.
The psyeggs should be larger. They're awkwardly just a little smaller than a block.
