  • In this rarely heard performance, Frank teams up with opera star Risë Stevens to perform an excerpt from Carmen Jones (Broadway). Based on the works of Georges Bizet - March of the Toreadors. This will later be popularly known as Carmen Suite No. 2 (Habanera). Risë starts off with "Dat's Love" and they both finish with "Stan' Up An' Fight"
From: The Frank Sinatra Show (in Person) [Max Factor Hollywood]
    Air date: May 16, 1945
Also joined by: Axel Stordahl & His Orchestra; Ken Lane Singers
    Music by: Georges Bizet
    Lyrics by: Oscar Hammerstein II
From the Broadway musical: Carmen Jones (1943)
Photo context: Frank Sinatra & Risë Stevens doing a performance on The Frank Sinatra Show (Radio) c. 1945
Frank had performed this song previously on his show with Risë. This is the second and final time he had ever performed this song.
Partially touched up on the photograph as the quality was already superb. Added a few extra touches to some minor details and made them stand out more than before
Fixed an annoying distracting hiss that tarnished the audio quality while still maintaining the integrity of the original throughout
    Editor note**
**As of July 7, 2024: Added close captioned subtitles that were manually time-synched for entire duration of the video including dialogue moments.

Bring back music education in school: Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Sinatra, Charles, Presley, Jagger/Richards/Jones/Wyman/Watts. Maybe even Burdon, Stewart, Daltrey/Townshend, Plant/Page, Jimi! Apologies to Ellington, Calloway, and a dozen others including Dorothy Dandridge and Josephine Baker.
