The Aston on the Silverstone shakedown looks a quite like the AMR23 from last season. That car had insane levels of downforce and good tyre wear before the upgrades so i am intrigued to see the AMR24 at Budapest

Insane level of downforce by wings not the floor.That was the problem. That's why was so draggy the car. Unfortunately with wings you creat a lot of drag, but with the floor significantly less! Aston seen it and tried to use less wings,but they couldn't creat that extra downforce on the floor what they did loose on the wings.
The wings is always there,tha air always there ,so is always make downforce in every situation (in clean air). The floor is also always there ,but so much factory have to be spot on to make it work that even the best engineers struggle to make it work. You have to control in every situation the car ideal ride height doesn't matter if the car is full an later is empty, if is braking or accelerating, if is turning or go straight, if is go fast or go slow, if the asphalt structure is smooth or rough, if the air is 30° or 25° and many more,but the most important thing that how much vacuum is creat! I assuming Aston right now loose 20% downforce from the floor compare to Redbull. The Ferrari 10%. The Mercedes and McLaren around 5%.

Ferrari will use their Barcelona spec in Hungary which excels in slow speed corners which is Hungary track characteristics so expecting Ferrari to be strong as their Barcelona spec has a lot downforce thru slow speed corners

They just need to upgrade Their suspension to I get back into the game. You can't add more downforce without re-balancing the dampening to counteract it.
What I've noticed is that, red bull is slower when the temperatures are colder well track temps, look at canada wet quali cold race max lacked pace until the sun came out. austria, fast until cloud cover, silverstone also faster when the sun came out. I want to try and find the lap time data to check out other races too.
And that my friend is bang on..
Even in 22 and 23 merc were fast in cool conditions amd RB suffered.

Aston's race pace was consistant at silverstone. not like rb ring, i think they are solving the tyre shredding issue little by little. would love to watch top 5 teams fight for the pole or podium

This season is becoming like the 2012 season with everyone almost getting wins. Really exited for the upcoming races.
From what I’ve read online(Yeah, I know. Pinch of salt) about Ferrari the aero upgrades they’ve introduced are working exactly as the simulator predicted but at the same time a simulator can’t predict porpoising.
The alleged main culprit seems to be their suspension layout because it doesn’t appear to be up to the job compared to McLaren, Mercedes or Red Bull.
Yeah basically the upgrade works too well

Am I the only one wishing the 2026 regulations get completely scrapped? The battle at the front of the grid is super tight right now McLaren, Merc and RB all go into a weekend believing they can win. Ferrari wasn't too far off that long ago, so perhaps they can step back into the battle. I can not recall when this was true. Certainly since the twin-turbo, (Merc domination zone) we've been lucky to have a team that can compete with the leaders.
New regulations are going to ruin all of this. Somebody is going to find something and crush the field. It happens every time they try to "fix the racing". IMO the rules are working the way they were designed, let it play out.

I'm not sure if Merc is coming with big upgrades to Hungary. Merc talked about how they are bringing things to both Hungary and Spa.
you can say so much, but once RedBull have found the soft spot of their zero pod concept, there will be nothing left of the competition, this season has actually already been decided in favor of Max Verstappen and Max Verstappen will leave for Mercedes in 2025, I know that quite certain

@@F1Unchained I have no doubt about that RedBull does not have the fastest package and whether that will get worse remains to be seen. I think RedBull is in the right direction but suffers from some limitations in the wind tunnel
The story of the RB 20 is that the engine is strong and has enough downforce, but on circuits with many bumps and high curbstones this does not work well and on circuits with many bends the results are disappointing. I expect in Spa and Monza that RedBull is the strongest and I have been around for many years longer than you in any case
Whats your opinion on ferraris competitiveness for Hungary. They are going to use the spain spec because bouncing will be nothing there and in spa they are bringing new ARB( anti roll bars)
I think they will be much more competitive as long as quali goes well
We have the hottest summer in decades in Hungary but if it rains on the weekend it could be very interesting.

are we seeing mclaren not being able to keep up with the upgrades compared to redbull and merc? last year they were untouchable in terms of development rate but this year they are not bringing parts at the same frequency as redbull and merc since miami. are they banking on another major upgrade which is right around the corner? maybe for zandvoort?

Please settle a disagreement between our mates & us. We say that, after Max's last pit stop, he unleashed the RB cars full potential, proving that the RB car was easily the fastest car on track.
As proof we highlighted:
1) How easily Max caught up to & then breezed past Lando, who was on new, faster soft tires while he was on slower hard tires.
2) If Max was not driving he fastest car 'on track', how could Max beat Lando by 7 seconds, Piastri by 11 seconds by the end of the race?
3) Then as you know, if Max got another lap, with DRS, he would have won the race.
Well Lando was on used softs and those tires only last like 3 maybe 4 laps. I think the Red Bull should have been the fastest there but the set up wasn’t where they wanted it. I don’t think they can easily be fastest anymkre

@@F1Unchained As an F1 fan, you would know that Max was not pushing the car's limits before the last pit stop. Before the last pit stop, the fastest lap was 1 minute 31.661 seconds. After the last pit stop, Max averaged around 1 minute 30 seconds and set the fastest lap @ 1 minute 28.952 seconds.
After the last pit stop, Piastri, on the best new medium tires, beat Max's fastest lap by only 0.204 seconds but could not begin to match Max's average pace, over the last 14 laps!!!
Red Bull just needs to put all their money into figuring out how to clone Max.

People actually forgot whoever won last year driver championship and constructor championship will have less wind tunnel time and CFD time, but whoever finished last in the standings will have more wind tunnel time and CFD time.
Redbull are still the fastest where they are now which is the top, but others are catching up due to this aero rules
