When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you'd used leather. Really impressed with the foam work and this definitely does not look like a first cosplay attempt. Great work, James! 😁
that's so great to hear thank you for your comment I do love recreating Star Wars and of course creating new Star Wars, it's a wonderful sand pit to play in!
So great! Your production value is perfect. Very slick but very approachable really good detail and information and fun storytelling too! Thanks for all your efforts in creating such wonderful content for us 👍🏼😊😊😊
Love the teabag technique! Classic primary school arts and crafts for weathering letters. I used the same technique to age dolls for a horror style music video. Bag looks amazing too!
I absolutely love how that turned out! Your utilization of all those techniques really paid off. I um, noticed that there were no Empire emblems. I feel like we need to have a talk. LOL. Keep up the great work man!!
Dude that was the best episode to date. The bag is brilliant! I have to admit that the tea bags really made the man purse (lol) look awesome and weathered. Extra tech is always a must. The eye glitch at the end was classic and had me laughing out loud. Thanks for the great episode!
Dude, so pleased you like it dude, will drill down on dm's as to why you think it's the best yet lol.. you see trust in the Tea bags.. and that reaction to the Mrs was all real man....
Just got directed here from The Smugglers Room video. Great job on this build and good luck on completing your room, can't wait to watch it come together. Keep producing the great content and continued success. Cheers!
Awesome video, I now have the 'bag' and hopefully some time over Christmas to make a start on a similar, but different, take. Thank you for the inspiration and keep the video's coming. (now off to steal all the tea bags in the house) ;)
That's awesome! Cant wait to see what you come up with! More videos definitely on the way , day job and Covid logistics have impacted my spare time but 2 videos should be out over the next 2 weeks.. currently sitting in my editor and my workbench lol
Amazing build! Just checked out your channel and was blown away by the fact that you are/used to be Sith-J-Cull, you're JKA maps were the best out there, I always had so much fun playing them!
Aww wow thanks! Yup still here doing my Star Wars thing! Indeed I do miss the old JKA days.. I had a blast making that content, particularly the Episode III map-packs! Thanks for the view and comment.
Oh man, that "Leather" making method is way easier than the method I'd been doing for years now. I kind of feel like a dope. I was using a heat gun on the foam, then using a ball of foil to mash in the imprints, and repeating. This seems way freakin' easier. Thanks for the tip, great build!
Thanks a lot for taking the time to comment 👊 Yeah I'd seen a few different ways of doing it but didn't see anyone just Iron it on so I had a go and it worked! 👊🙏
The Rebel Base Build | JC3D | Props | Cosplay I did a “Cable” from X-Men cosplay. So many straps and pouches made from “leather”. When I re-do it eventually, now I have a new method! Cheers.
Created a Facebook page to sell my 3D prints called it JC3D only to find like 4 other pages with the same name also found your YT channel loving the work bro
That's brilliant buddy, you could use that if you ever get to go to galaxy's edge and do a Star Wars bound. Love that you added real life tech in with the charger and bluetooth speakers, given me something to think about making.
@@RebelBaseBuilds welcome dude and look forward to seeing what you put together for your outfit...also check out a couple called Always Believe they have a style guild for bounding ar Galaxy's Edge.
Great video of a gun build! I bought one of those bags in Australia 20 years ago, but haven't found one just like it since. Could you share the Amazon link?
Thanks! Of those are small Bluetooth speakers, if you watch the last scene you will see a little chat about those, I just added some greebles from a Hard Drive and weathered them 😀
How long are those fabric poppers to fit through the foam and what thickness of craft foam are you using? Thanks for a great video! Going to use some of these techniques for Galaxy's Edge costumes for my girlfriend and me!
This is an awesome build! I’m actually going to an antique mall today and I’m going to keep an eye out for a bag of my own for my mandalorian & for when I go to Disney’s Galaxy’s edge with my dad :D What are those cylinders from at 10:54? Those look awesome!
Thank you! Was a very fun build, those cylinders, if you watch to the end I chat about them a little more, they are blue tooth speakers.. if you watch right to the end you can see how the Tea bag raiding got me into trouble lol...
I kinda want to do something like this with an old bag I have however the bag does have some sentimental value to it, any ideas on how I could make removable/ temporary greeblies ? I was thinking of using pins but I'm not to sure how I would go about doing it
Hey thanks, and thanks for watching, for sure, the fabric poppers I used in this video could work however you would be better off with a loose weave fabric so there's space for the poppers to connect.. 🙂
Quick question. First off thanks you inspired me to make one for my visit to BATUU. I’m not using foam but plastic greebles from a model.kit. You used Cement glue for the foam. What glue do you recommend for me to use. I bought the same backpack. Thanks again!
@@RebelBaseBuilds Thanks you!!! I watch all your videos and just blown away from all of it. I would love to send you a pic of my backpack when it’s finished. Do you have an email address I could send it to?
Hey, that is just good old contact cement it works perfectly with fabric and foam I use a product called Thixofix from Tyges Supplies, there's a link in the description 👊
Hey thanks for watching and form your question, if you check out the index you can see at 8:55 you will be able to watch the attach greebles part. I used both fabric poppers and contact cement 👊
Hi man! I rlly liked your video. I want to build a lego storage crait like you! I am trying to do YT to! If you want, you can check my videos! This is the way bro!
I mean not for nothing buddy but I'm going to put the time in the effort in go down to your local thrift store and buy an old leather belt mean my used phone it's just silly
Damn it! Now I want to make one!!
Haha! And imagine how epic that would be!!
Wow! That bag turned out so fantastic!! Just LOVE all the details created with so many techniques. Outstanding!!!
Man I'm so freaking happy that you like it Brian, means a lot bro!
finally another person who calls them greebles instead of gree-blees
also that bag turned out absolutely phenomenal
You mean people don't call them that 😂😂😱
Fantastic information. And a great sense of humor. I’m a subscriber now! Thanks
Hey! Thanks for watching and for the kind comments - welcome aboard!

Smugglers room suggested this! Love it. Yay, I got a new Nerd Channel!
Haha! I am so honoured to fullfil that role!!

Haha thanks man, you know ya gotta point there... 😬
It would be cool to add something that can amplify the connection of your phone to have better service in the antenna tube.
You know that's an amazing idea!
This is a fantastic project! Between the details and the multiple, hyper familiar techniques...yeah, I'm gonna be doing this one!
Hey thanks, yeah I checked out lots of beat practice online than added a taste of the RBB 👊
Fabulous

Awesome! I learned a lot of neat tips/techniques I never even thought of. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Love this build. So much so that I picked up the bag to make one of my own.

i would do what you did for weathering but also let nature do some work.
Yup nature is the best weatherer of all! Thanks for watching!
Dude I can become a mandalorian now!!!
Haha gratz!!
You could have used coffee also instead of tea it might have turned out darker
I've never laughed so hard. Love this 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Haha thank you, in a good way I hope???

How long are those fabric poppers to fit through the foam and what thickness of craft foam are you using? Thanks for a great video! Going to use some of these techniques for Galaxy's Edge costumes for my girlfriend and me!
Hey thanks for watching! The foam I used on the bag was 3mm and in some places 5mm. The poppers were long enough for both and were awesome fun to fit!
This is an awesome build! I’m actually going to an antique mall today and I’m going to keep an eye out for a bag of my own for my mandalorian & for when I go to Disney’s Galaxy’s edge with my dad :D

Hey thanks! Those are actually small Bluetooth speakers, if you watch the scene at the end, there's a little chat about those 😀🙏
What kind of glue is being used to attach everything to the bag?
Hey there, I used contact cement /barge cement 👊
What kind of glue did you use to attach the greeblies?
Barge cement / contact cement

What kind of glue are you using for this? I want to make a bag for my Star Wars cosplay, and I have no idea what kind of adhesive I should use
Hey, thanks for watching, I use contact cement (barge cement)! :)
Hey, my friend! Big fan, and just commenting to say keep it up!
Btw, instead of saying "lets rebelify it" why not say "let's rebel!"
Thank you! Means a lot to hear comments like this, keeps us all going!
What glue are you using??
Hey, thanks for watching, I use contact cement like Thixofix or barge cement 👍🏼
What adhesive were you using? The yellow substance.
Hey, that is just good old contact cement it works perfectly with fabric and foam I use a product called Thixofix from Tyges Supplies, there's a link in the description 👊
@@RebelBaseBuilds thank you.
Coffee works well as a weathering agent too. Thicker you make the coffee - the darker the weathering. The bag is amazing!!!
Hi. What glue do you use to stick the greebles to the fabric?
Hello there, I use contact cement otherwise known as barge cement to glue fabric fabric and to glue the greebles to fabric. Thanks
@@RebelBaseBuilds thanks dude!
What small Bluetooth speakers were those? Also what was glue you were using?
Hey bud, still searching for it. 🤣
What did you use to secure those metal parts to the bag? Was it contact cement or did you use snaps or other methods?
Hey thanks for watching and form your question, if you check out the index you can see at 8:55 you will be able to watch the attach greebles part. I used both fabric poppers and contact cement 👊
And the metal parts are actually mostly EVA Foam painted and weathered to look metal 🙂
Ya i was referring to the metal rings and discs he took from the hard drive.
@@heathjulieofstead4958 He is me :) I just used contact cement, works a treat!
How has it weathered so far?
Going great, I actually use it for work haha!
really well! the base bag itself was sturdy enough to begin with I think 👍
Alright added finishing touches and calling it done: czcams.com/video/gJyeQzCD-H4/video.html thanks again.
