Canning meat is such a good way to preserve and hedge against losing the meat in the freezer.
It amazes me how dumping all of the seasonings on the top
permeates through the whole can by the end. I feel like I'd want to premix it.
You definitely could do that! Some of the spices do tend to stay on top, but the flavor goes all throughout!

Writing on your lids before canning is such a good idea. I usually do it after and it can be difficult to write on the lids while on the jar without my handwriting being so messy. OMG, adding seasoning with the meat, sounds like a gamer changer for different flavor profiles. Thank you for sharing so many different options come to mind. Would love to see how you use your canned meats. Maybe some recipes to come back to :)

The entire reason i discovered Leisa at Suttons Daze was that my canned chicken was always dry as in overcooked. I wondered if I could get a better result starting with raw packed chicken. I have learned so much more than I expected and have been introduced to so many canners and preservers through that search.

This is so exciting! I cannot believe that it’s 67 years young. I am finally really embracing canning. When I was younger I didn’t think I had time for any of this stuff to learn as my mom and her mom were preserving food. I was too busy playing in the garden in the yard and climbing trees. Now I’m learning as much as I can and trying to share with my kids as much as I can about preservingtheir food

Raw chicken is the next thing to try on my canning list. I usually don't season my meat, but adding the seasoning during the canning process does look like it will make meal prep much easier. Thank you for being a part of Canuary!

Pre-label the lids! Love that! I have tried the Greek chicken and the taco seasoning. When you have no idea what to fix for dinner those pre-seasoned jars will inspire some creativity!
What a good idea to preseason Ugly Chicken! It's always better to make your own seasoning blends to avoid unwanted ingredients. I picked up two Tips & Hints from this video. 1) Marking the debubbling tool at 1-1/4", 2", and 3". 2) Using a Sharpie to label the lids before canning. Thank you for participating in Canuary!

Thanks for the video. I started with 4 birds this weekend and I pressure cooked all of them. I wound up with your seasoned chickened in 8 pint jars, plain shredded chicken for salad in more pint jars, chicken soup in quarts and pints, as well as a ton of quarts of chicken bone stock from the bones and veggies as well as broth from the pressure cooker. I just couldn't bring myself to raw pack this time around but maybe next time when my friend processes more chickens again.
