Great vid. A question... For normal cases... is it enough only to clean this outboard part with a brake cleaner without disassembling it?

For the life of me my Nissan joint looks very similar to yours. It has eight balls though. For the life of me I cannot get the last ball in the cage will not rotate enough to get it in. I don’t understand if there’s some subtle order or some thing I’m missing. Very frustrating looks identical to what you’re doing but that last ball is just not going in. It seems like there’s subtle differences in the cage slots. Four of the opposing sides will allow you to slip the cage in and rotate it into the housing. The other slots won’t allow you to rotate it after sliding it in. I’m not sure if this subtlety has something to do with the order of the ball install or not

Hey mate. Sorry I only just saw this comment. What can’t you open? Cut the boot off. Knock the ball and cage down till you can get 1 bearing out. Then you are set.

Hey mate cheers for the video . Did you know boot was damaged on just random inspection or was it clicking which alerted you to it . My reason for asking was, l do regularly inspect my vehicle but outer boot failed on LHS , which is normal for the 100 . I've been told if they click you need to get them welded and machined to service them properly . I had a mechanic replace them with genuine and have old CVs . And want to reco the old . Thanks again

Do you happen to be in central Queensland and want to be paid for doing a similar repair on a 2001 100 GXL? a friend is waiting 4-6 weeks for the Toyota parts, but is eager to have it done (he can't work or do business without it). He says it requires special tools, but is not a mechanic. Does the parts in your video go on a 2001 100 GXL? (guy claims there is no rubber, thats why I ask).
