Remove all grease from the cardan it is unnecessary, instead use triflow before every race, we do that in micro speedway where we have converted the pw50 to race speedway, it is 4 laps with tight throttle, and the get warm as hell, but i have never seen or heard anyone bracking that axel before.
In the motocross world its fairly common for these axles to break due to the stress put on them from jumping them. flat track doesn't put near the abuse on them as the motocross side of things. also the grease we put back in them is a lot better than factory. we use grease because 98% of parents don't want to have to lube the ring gear between motos.
