Imagine having almost all your books hardcover...
Haha, please no. I prefer paperbacks mostly. Or a mix. Not a fan of those overly huge YA hardcovers that take up way to much space and are uncomfortable to read. I like the more chaotic look of paperbacks and unsorted colours. :) Thankfully there are styling options for everyone. ;)
@@literaturegeek1570 Yeah, I prefer having either one. I don't like a mix though ;) For now, I am happy with my paperbacks. But that doesn't stop me from fantasying about all the books on my bookshelf being hardbacks ;P
I definitely prefer hardcovers because you can read them without the dust jacket and get it a lil messy but then once you put the dust jacket back on it looks good as new 😅 I'm not careful enough for paperbacks and breaking the spines drives me crazy haha
@@BrittanytheBibliophile yes this!! I always end up somehow ripping my paperbacks, and prefer how neat the dust jackets cover up my mishaps on the books!
I actually love hardcovers but I’m not paying twice the amount just to have a book as a hardcover instead of paperback, so I’m sticking with that 😅

These turned out amazing! I wish I had shelves like yours! The ONLY thing that made me go ahhh was where you put 'I'll Give You the Sun' by Jandy Nelson hahaha it's definitely a contemporary rather than a fantasy, it's also my favorite book in the world :)
ugh I knoooow. Unfortunately there are literally NO other contemporaries that were the same height, they were either taller or shorter and there were only fantasies of the same height
I had 1 1/2 bookshelves stacked to the brim a while ago and i went and unhauled a bunch of books and now everything fits on one bookshelf im not sure why that gives me anxiety lol

Have you read any of the Gone series after Light? I just finished Light recently and I loved how it ended. Scared to read the newer ones.
I have! They're like ....fine. I absolutely adore the Gone series so they're a fun read but go in with lower expectations lol
I liked the monster trilogy alright, though the ending of Hero made me so mad. It was so lazy on Michael Grant’s part and they’re fine but I don’t count it as canon purely for my peace of mind

honestly not sure! I'd say about 500 but there's also quite a few that I don't have on my shelves in my book room so I can't be positive
