NEW STEAM TRADE SCAM?? IM LOST... (Steam API Scam)

- After seeing the amount of comments I've been getting I feel as tho I should change this description to give you more information. This is called a steam API scam, it happens when you log into steam through some phishy website...whether it be a trading or gambling site. All you have to do is revoke your steam api key and change your password...all will be well after that. Unfortunately all items lost will not be returned by steam...so you have to bite the bullet.

- Kushe - I have the answer, it’s an api scam. You all have gone onto a fake website yes? That website put their bot link into your api code when you have them your login details. Worth the api code the bot can cancel offers you send and send a new offer to itself. The bot will always change its name and profile picture to the same as who you were trying to trade to.

Note: If you got scammed by this method, or any method, dont waste your time. Steam will sadly NOT give you back your items. They are lost forever. Dont know how some people can sleep well at night by stealing from others.

The same thing NEAAARLY happened to me too a few weeks ago, I just didn’t confirmed it in the steam mobile app because it sayd „this user is steam level 0“ and my second acc I wanted to gift was steam lvl 2 .... I nearly lost like 600 dollars I am so glad I didn’t confirmed it in the last second !

@@YTnamesAreBS basically the account is hacked due to signing in to a scam site with steam. once they get ur login and a steam guard code they can change the trade offers u send and receive and send the items to their accounts. So to avoid it don't click on sketchy links or random gambling/trading sites that you aren't 100% sure are trusted. Oh and if random ppl add u and tell u to click their link, dont do it, no matter what they say you will get for going to the site. Can be avoided pretty easily if you're thorough.

I went to csgoempire and deposit an item and the item i sent to the original person got canceled and it didnt even notify me and i clicked confirmed on my mobile but when i know the item is sent to the scammer with identical profile with level 0 account. I don't know if i should laugh or cry its time for me to stay away from this steam community

@@zolton4453 you basically clicked on some websites and tried to login. The tournament scam you know where they tell you to vote. Once you realize its a scam you think you're free but they put a bot on your account which auto cancels the trade and sent the offer to his bot account. I tried to ask stream as well and they don't want to recover the lost item. So basically say bye to your skins

I got scammed it said that i was trade banned and i needed to trade my items to an alt, when i did that 70€ worth of skins were gone. I just wanted to know is my account safe? I want to buy a knife just wanted to know if there is any possibility i could get scammed again.

Yeah man..One time my profile was changed like it was before banning and it said like "hey send your items you want to save to your friend" and i just sent them to my brother and before accepting i saw that he wasnt online while my brother was online..I go check the profile and it was a fake profile like on the video,the name and the pfp of the profile was changeing every 1minute..So i didnt accept it,i just returned my name,discription and my pfp back to normal and that was it..
I lost my whole inventory buy csgo and steam first time I got scammed now i wanted to send my skins to my other profile and they got sent somewhere else good job valve and steam
To be fair, when you confirm the trade you should always check that you are getting the items. Dont ever just confirm without checking. There is no need to rush, go at your own pace

Same happend here, lost 150 euro of skins. What happend was, i got invited into a CSGO tournament, opened the site, looked really professional, logged in with steam, and then nothing happend. I then read all the bad info about this site, logged out, changed passwords etc, and nothing happend for 3 months. just yesterday i wanted to gamble 4 assimov skins on CSGOfast, worth 150 euros, and my offer got declined 2 times, and then i recieved a offer from the same BOT name, for the same skins, and i was so stupid to accept it, and my skins were gone. changed my api, and tried it with a cheap skin, and still the offer got declined and i recieved a trade offer, which i refused. and now im typing this.

it's an api scam, you need to revoke your api keys on your steam account. Next time don't be logging your steam into random sites and it won't happen.

I lost like 300-400 dollars on skins on rust cause of this and there is a possibility to get your skins back just make a report to steam and tell them what happened I’m still waiting to hear from them

This is a very common scam. Before CONFIRMING any trade offer, check the profile of the person you are gonna trade and try to remember the Level of the account and the Date when he joined Steam. Then when you're going to Confirm the trade with, check whether the Steam level and the Date matches up with the profile or not. Most of the bot accounts in this scam has Level 0 steam account, so that is a good sign. For now, change your Steam password, revoke your API Key (search it on google 'steam api key'). Also, contact Steam support and provide them with all the necessary screenshots, details etc. At least that account might get banned if Steam support gets access to necessary info. Because of this scamming method I've lost CSGO items worth around $1500 while trading on a trading site. Fortunately, steam support banned the scammer.

Its cause you used a site that recieved your api keg and that allows them to send and cancel offers
Steam need to put the rules of other sites like ubisoft or whatever everysingle user had the have a one specific username no pp and +999 other pp in username this is a truly fair change would stop all this

I lost my Bayonet knife in CS GO year ago by the same scam. I didn’t give my password to anyone. 2 factor authentication was on. Steam just ignored my ask to restore items, I think they knew about this scam and do nothing, maybe they are in the “same boat” with scammers. Just my thoughts🤷♂️

I swear the same thing happened to me before 1 day this is why I'm here but thanks god it wasn't the item expensive 1$ but i was ready to lose my knife so the subject is i made the trade from dmmarket platform i also buy the knife from them and i was want to sell it for dm again but something make me stop i dunno how lucky i was so when i made the trade exactly how you explain i accept the trade it leave from my inventory and after i didn't receive the other item from dmmarket i contact dm support just for explaining what happened i was so confused and scared about my steam account i ask advice to secure my account they say change api key steam trade link and the password and enable 2fac . Finally the question is how they cold do it !! Also why me i mean how they put me on them target also I'm aware about links from strangers also i don't use bad sides i mean until now i need someone to explain and also to give a real advice to be security for my all social media accounts and passwords any way stay safe guys

thats beacause somebody have your api key and created a bot that cancel the trade and create a profile with the same name and image and make the same offer but to the bot not to your friend annomaly talked about it
