This is funnier than it should be and I have no idea why...
These scenes are actually meant ot be really funny, but the reason why we didn't feel that way in the actual show was because the other thing that is going on. And because we are afriad of the results of these comedic actions.

I can't tell the difference for the Tyrion claps Jeoffrey scene. I was hearing those claps and laughs when I first saw the scene.
I was certainly laughing and cheering through it on the first and every rewatch of that scene.
