I tried this hairstyle today for my Florida trip. It turned out GREAT!!! The only difference is that I had to use a different brand of hair and I didn't use the rubberbands. It took me 2 hrs but for my first attempt I think I did ok. You look beautiful and thanks for sharing.

This came out really pretty... I braid my natural hair (braid down 2 or 3xs) then twist it ..then I crochet the marley hair twist while adding my hair with the twist. No rubber band neededđđđđđ
I just did this style on my hair yesterday! I usually do my own hair, so the actually parting & twisting using the rubberband method didnât take me that long. I used the same exact hair, itâs light weight and not tight at all, way better than tight & heavy box braids

Oh interesting! I thought this was going to be the rubber band + crochet method. That also helps conceal the rubber bands and helps with security, when you crochet the portioned hair into your sectioned rubberbanded areas.

I attempted to follow this tutorial but found the rubber band method difficult as a beginner. I ended up braiding at the root/twisting the hair in and kinda freestyled. Iâve never been great at doing my own hair, but it came out cute enough. Thanks for the inspo.
So you braided/plaited your own hair at the root, like an inch?, then twisted rest of way? Then twisted in the bought hair like the video? Im trying this this weekend and trying to see if i really need the rubber bands.

Iâve used that hair also but in a shorter length.
What I found out was that the hair is supposed to be twisted in the opposite way you were twisting.
I learned the hard way.
But this bun!!!..... I love it!

You should try using the latch hook (not crochet) method. Latch hooking it underneath the rubber band twist it down.

Thanks for this tutorial. I love how soft it looks compared to the rough Marley hair. Why does it say 36 in, but looks so short when you pull it out?
Not sure? It's 36 inches total. However, when braiding you have to divide by 2 to get your actual length.
