This movie inspired pretty much my entire elementary school to dig a whole in the back of our school’s football field using sticks, and container lids we used for our food.
Then they covered it up with a bunch of sand and dirt
Remember when they found the treasure & all the lizards popped up? Well I bet y’all didn’t know the reason that they didn’t get attacked was because they ate onions earlier. Remember when Sam (the black man that was killed) said earlier in the movie that yellow spotted lizards don’t like his onions. Caveman & Zero climbed to the top of the mountain & ate lots of onions, which repelled the lizards from attacking.
I did lol also this was on a test
I like how the dangerous lizards are based off bearded dragons which are some of the most sweetest, laziest and cuddliest reptiles on the planet.
Thats why the dangerous lizards were hugging Stanley and Zero when they found the chest. The lizards were just so happy for them they couldn't help but give them a hug.
Mine wouldnt even go after a mealworms across her tank. We had to put it right in front of her in order to eat it
I HAVE MUFFINS! Because lizards from homes are different than lizards from nature you give your lizard what it needs without making it work in the nature it has to work with it so in the lizards brain they don’t think they would haft to hunt for the food even if it’s not too far
Apparently in the wild they still aren't very dangerous... They just use intimidation tactics but not much else. They do carry enough bacteria to give you salmonella though.
Yeah, when I heard "deadly lizards" I just started dying laughing.

Poison is absorbed, venom is injected.
If you get bitten, it’s being injected directly into your bloodstream, so it’s venom.
If you eat an apple and you die, the venom was absorbed through your digestive system. Same as if you touch a poisonous frog and it’s absorbed through your skin. Or if you breath in some poisonous gas then it’s absorbed through your lungs.

Thought the movie kind of portrayed pretty fairly.
The line “hod fudge sundae” Doesn’t make sense without context from the book. I get it apart from how was Stanley’s name on the chest
@@ren8554 The chest belonged to his great grandfather, who was also named Stanley Yelnats
Yeah this is a pretty satirical video just poking fun at the movie. The book explains it better though
@@ren8554 basically the beginning.
Stanley no good pig stealing great great grandfather was in love with this girl, and this girl was soon to be proposed by a fat guy who was offering the dad a fat ass pig. The great great grandfather went to madam zuerry (zero's great great grandmother). Madam Zuerry said to carry a pig up a mountain to drink the water and sing a song. He will grow stronger and the pig will grow faster. When he came to propose with the pig both pigs weighed the same. This is when the great great grandfather realise that the girl he loved was an absolute moron. So he said it was a wedding gift. One part of the deal woth madam zuerry is that after he proposes he should carry her up and let her drink the water while he's singing the song to make her grow stronger. He forgets and so begins the yelnasts' curse of bad luck.
Proceed onto the western time period. With Sam and kissing Kate. Sam had a donkey called marry Lou who lived for 100s of year for just eating onions, he also said that onions stop yellow spotted lizards from biting (important for future). There was a man who is related with the Warden who ran the town Sam and Kissing Kate lived. That man had a crush on Kate. When the man realised that she loved Sam, he killed him and burnt down her school. She become an outlaw and robs loads. Whenever she kills someone she leaves them a kiss leaving red lipstick. She robs Stanley Yelnats the first. Leaving him alive he went and found God's thumb. When she died she was sitting next to the Mary Lou (Sam's boat) and the man who fell in love with Kate held her at gun point with one of Kate's best student. Kate kills herself so the treasure won't be found.
Present day. When Zero and Stanley went up God thumb, we find out it was the same mountain that madam zuerry was told to go up to. While up there Stanley sings the song and breaks the Yelnats curse. We also believe that the onions are Sam's. And the boat they were under was also Sam's hence the spice peach jars. When they went down to get the treasure when went to Stanley's whole rather than x-ray. They find the treasure however there were yellow spotted lizards but they were safe because of the onions.
Overall read the book this is just the basic story.
Lauren it’s because, in the early part of the book, we are told all the Yelnats family name their sons Stanley, so his Grandfather was also named it.
I think they did a pretty good job. If you read the book, you'll understand that it's really hard to pull off a movie that correctly resembles the style of story telling that the book is telling. There are constant flashbacks and the entire story doesn't make sense until you finish the book.
as someone who had read the book, i say they did a good job, some things were a bit rushed but overall, pretty good film
the warden's 'excuse me?' was one of my favorite movie lines of all time
I really like this movie because of how connected everything is. Zero is the great great grandson of Madame Zeroni and Stanley is the great great grandson of whatever his name was. Because Stanley carried Zero up the mountain he broke the curse. So the curse was 100% legitimate. Once he breaks the curse things start going well for Stanley.
Also the fact that the stuff that kept Zero alive for the days he was out there was the very old spiced peaches Kate made for Sam.
Personally I believe Sam was Madame Zeroni’s son as well.
Everything is connected, the lizards are also the things that killed kissing kate barlo, and it was sams onion farm that they ran into

This was my favorite movies as a child. It was never forgotten
Holes is actually a pretty good movie, when he carries Zero up the mountain that ended Stanley's curse because Stanley Yelnats I was supposted to carry Madam Zeroni up the mountain, and finally Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBeouf) ended the family's curse by carrying Hector Zeroni (Zero) up the mountain, right after they were greeted with food to eat and water to drink and Stanley felt lucky and went to dig one more hole and found treasure, then his fathers business thrived, and he helped Zero find his mother. It's pretty deep lmao, I've been forced to watch Holes way too many times in school xD
Way too deep. Very good pun
A great storyline to it :)
And it rained for the first time in hundreds of years
He was able to benefit from X-Ray taking credit for the 'bullet' since his treasure chest was close to the hole he found the lipstick in
Joey Hamad same I cane recite the Holes movie out of the blue. I think I have watched about 43 times. I actually don’t really like the movie
Sam saying "I can fix that"
Reminds me of princess bride when Wesley would say "as you wish"
I'm sorry, I had this movie confused with "Hoots" all my life, and thought "Holes" was about kids saving endangered owls who lived in holes inthe ground
