The challenge was to make a bowl without a lathe. Since I don't own a lathe that part was simple!

Great stuff and very clever thinking to clear the waste. Thanks for participating John. Subscribed 👍
Thanks Keith! That was probably my bigger ah-ha moments in this project lol. Thanks for the sub' and thanks again for hosting such a fun challenge!
Looks great John!
Thank you!
That was very impressive John! Great use of the Drill press and the oscillating tool. Subscribed!
Thanks guys! Definitely had fun on this one. Thanks for the sub'!
Good stuff man, love the straight bit in the drill press trick. Cool bowl!
Thank you! Yeah that worked out super well. I'm gonna have to remember that one.
Great job John! Love the shirt, too
Thank you!
I love the simple look of the bowl and admire your tenacity and determination to find different ways to achieve your goal. Great job.
Thank you. It definitely was a great learning project and a good way to find different ways to use the same tools I already had.
Beautiful work
Thank you!
Nice practical and usable bowl, and well thought out👍👍👍
Thank you!
great job king Sir!
Thank you!
The bowl came out well. Love your T-shirt.
Thank you, on both counts haha
Good work mate & good luck 🍻🍻👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
Dig it! Nice work!!
Thank you!
That was pretty good! Izzy Swan's earlier videos are really good. He does a lot of turning with a table saw. As soon as my workshop and barn are cleaned out, I'm going to do some experiments of my own!
Thank you!
Yeah I’ve been debating building the drill table saw lathe thing that he has, but haven’t needed it for anything so it has just stayed in thought, haha
looks great. Nice idea using the drill press
Thank you! Yeah that worked out really well, definitely took a good chunk of time off the chiseling.
Turned out really nice man! Excellent idea with the table saw action!
Thank you! I’d give credit but I can’t remember who I got the idea from haha
Nice bowl, great T-shirt!
Thank you!
Great work. The end grain on the side looks great.
Thank you! One of my favourite parts as well.
Great challenge 👍
It was! Good times.
nice work
Thanks!
Great ideas in this video and a fantastic end result. I did chuckle when you had the same "sanding the inside" problems that I did. I tried every sanding machine I had😀
Thank you! Yeah I wasn't too sure where to go next if the oscillating tool didn't work. Hand-sanding I guess haha
Great job, I liked the honest approach of your film making, the very clever use of the table saw and converting your drill into a milling machine. Well done Sir!
Thank you! It probably helps that this is my quickest turnaround between start of project and video publishing so I was able to remember a lot more of the detail. Most of my videos have had about 6 months at least of delay before publishing.
John the Schreiner Wow! Wish I could get far ahead. I’m usually uploading when the finish is still wet 😂 Great job dude! 👍🏻
Thanks! I started recording projects a year before I started uploading. Gave me a fair bit of wiggle room. Though I need to get a few more projects done before snow flies if I want to keep my upload a week schedule going through the winter haha.
John the Schreiner Yeah I’m really finding that one a week impossible to meet at the moment, my workshop is booked for months with client work,we will see. Fair play to you though, will watch your career with interest 👍🏻
Thank you! Same with you, looking forward to see what you come out with.
A super entry and great to see the journey you and the bowl took to get to the end result. Impressive I must say :-)
Thank you! It was probably one of the more instructive projects that I have done. I very much enjoyed the process.
John the Schreiner I'm really looking forward to seeing more:-)
I have I think 4 more videos ready to upload, and another 15 or so waiting to be edited so there's at least that much more coming down the pipe haha
John the Schreiner excellent excellent news :-)
Not bad looks good.
Thank you!
Great job! 👍 I'm with the group of people who also like your t shirt 😂
Thank you! I guess I’m gonna have to update my shop wardrobe with some more interesting shirts moving forward haha
Great job john
It turned out really good
Cheers

Thanks Tim!
good stuff you got a subscriber
Thank you!
the bowl turned out real good mate
Thank you!
Sounds like you are rapping hehe nice
Haha, I don’t hear it, but thank you!
Wirklich cool gemacht !
In English - Thank you! I'm using a translator since I don't speak German so I hope it's correct. The constraint on the project was just that we couldn't use a wood lathe. All other tools were fair game.
Very nice bowl you made there ! Which kind of clamps did you used? I am searching for a little bit bigger clamps because I'm a woodworker from Germany .
Thank you. I used these Aluminum Bar Clamps - www.princessauto.com/en/detail/48-in-aluminum-bar-clamp/A-p8610099e - I think this store is only in Canada, but hopefully you can find something similar.
Thanks !
