  • We're PyroFarms, and we're excited to pull back the curtain on our San Diego algae farm. We've been growing algae for almost a decade, going carbon negative while everything else is going the other way.
We're proud of how far we've come: At PyroFarms, we've developed a process that makes it possible for anyone to grow algae at home. (Seriously, check out our website if you want more info on how). We help others get closer to carbon neutral.
But thats not all. There are many other things that our algae can do - like glow at night naturally. So today, we wanted to take a break from talking about ourselves and talk about you. If you have questions about growing your own algae please reach out! We'll be happy to answer any questions about how our process works or what kinds of things you can expect when growing your own algae at home.

For the excessive/remainings of PyroDinos inside the bottle, can I feed them to my culture of brine shrimps (those Filter Feeders) rather than pull them into the drain?
What will be the range of sizes in micron for the PytoDinos?
My concern is, I used 25 ppt in my brine shrimps tank while the PytoDinos solution (purified seawater) should be around 35 ppt roughly.
Could PytoDino be able to survive a short while and filter-feed by those brine shrimps ? Or they will be bursted because of different osmotic pressure.

Yes. You can feed PyroDinos (phytoplankton) to your brine shirmp. They can cohabitate until the shrimp eat them.
