  • The mass production of Giant Squid (also known as Jumbo Flying Squid) for culinary purposes is a fascinating topic. The Jumbo squid fishery is the largest artisanal fishery in Peru in terms of landings and has the highest socioeconomic importance due to the number of fishers involved. More than 30% of the catches are exported to US and EU markets. Peru’s Ministry of Production has established the 2023 catch quota for its giant squid resource at 420,000 tonnes.
This video will delve into squid processing, and giant squid production in factories to make squid rings, popcorn, and tentacles for culinary purposes. Calamari is a popular dish that is enjoyed by many people around the world.

I thought the squid rings came from giant squid tentacles and that squid tentacles were hollow inside explaining them forming a ring. So you learn something new every day. Thanks' for video.
