      @@john7283 Any level of intergration/internal cable routing is a pain, especially if you like to maintain/build your own bikes. Aside from looking pretty, the benefits are marginal for most people. Furthermore, cockpit intergration limits upgradability and ties you to the OEMs at a time where bikes are becoming more and more "samey".
      All this adds up to make cycling an even more expensive sport/hobby than it already is.

    • @sunnyape314
      @sunnyape314 Před 4 lety

      @@JimIBobIJones What, specifically, are you expecting to 'maintain'? Hydraulic brake hoses and electrical shifter wires don't wear out or need replacing, so once they're inside the frame, they just stay there, doing their job. Only if you opt for mechanical shifters will you have to consider replacing the cables from time to time.

      That's highly subjective. I for once, love the disc break look. Gives me the sense of speed, and i think it looks more integrated with the wheel compared to rim breaks. But again, it's all personal preferences

    • @pyroisacooldude
      @pyroisacooldude Před 5 lety

      I really want to like disc brakes. But the iffy nature of them makes them hard for to justify for racing. It's harder to travel because you might have to bleed them, and id you don't keep them clean they will shriek and they weigh more. But they are so practical with cables and durability. It's hard man

  • @Enigma71559
    @Enigma71559 Před 5 lety

    EVERYTHING about high-end road bikes is about making them more aero. Pretty soon, pros will just be riding TT bikes for EVERYTHING. Because who REALLY needs to save the few seconds here and there other than pro racers?? Like I'm going to go out and spend 10+ grand on a bike that will help me save 10 seconds on my 40 mile weekend ride. They are cool to look at though.

    • @bluemystic7501
      @bluemystic7501 Před 5 lety

      I hear what you're saying but those aero gains do add up. It's not necessarily about time, it's about shaving the watts needed to hold higher speeds. Saving 15 watts at 25mph is huge, for example.

    • @LordAus123
      @LordAus123 Před 5 lety

      bluemystic7501: 15w at 25mph will translate to about .5mph difference. The majority of riders have an ftp too low to hold 25mph for more than a few min, let alone for the entirety of a 40mi ride. If you could hold the 25mph you’d save 2 min over an hour and a half. How many people can hold 350w for an hour and a half? 90% of riders can’t hold it for 20min...

    • @bluemystic7501
      @bluemystic7501 Před 5 lety

      @@LordAus123 No, saving 15 watts at 25mph means you can put out less power while holding that same speed. Cycling is a game of energy conservation and bikes that waste our energy are no bueno. Now is this bike meant for 'most riders'? This bike is meant for anyone amd everyone who is into cycling enough to spend $$$ on a bike.

    • @Enigma71559
      @Enigma71559 Před 5 lety

      @@LordAus123 Haha! I've never done a ramp test, but I doubt I could hold 350 for 5 minutes!! I'm not so sure I can HIT 350!

    • @LordAus123
      @LordAus123 Před 5 lety

      @@bluemystic7501By all means whoever wants and can afford the bike should get it, but I doubt they will see meaningful performance gains. I mean, I’m glad they’re still releasing new bikes and this one looks really nice

  • @BikeLife154
    @BikeLife154 Před 5 lety +2

    Without being disrespectful to Scott, their design looks like every other bike out there now. Every company is saying the same things as they always have. I’m not impressed by any of these new bikes. They all look like they’re sharing the same open carbon mould from a Chinese factory.

      I don’t agree. My Giant TCR was very different looking to my now Caad 12. I actually like Cannondale’s old design to the new drop stays on the evo.

    • @Velo757
      @Velo757 Před 5 lety

      I feel you mate but I think that style will soon be the "retro" look...I like both looks but I think more bikes are going to be the dropped seatstays style now... it's all about options ya know

    • @bluemystic7501
      @bluemystic7501 Před 5 lety +2

      When you put a dozen different bikes into the wind tunnel and they all come out looking the same, what do you think that says? The design is fast.

    • @BikeLife154
      @BikeLife154 Před 5 lety

      bluemystic7501 1 or maybe 2 kph at a push. So the evolution in bicycle frame design ends here because they all see this as the fastest design? It isn’t the bike that wins races as we all know.
