lovely looking, but spendy, bike. I'd never considered a Scott before but this looks the business. Would love to see more in-depth coverage and riding. Looks like someone's having an awesome time reporting on new high end bikes! And now it's over to the website for more of Dave's thoughts on the subject...
Thought the bars looked pretty funny til i saw the cutaway - really makes a lot of sense, especially with mechanical gears. Also i really wanna go to scott's HQ and have a little slide on that big wall.
I am torn between choosing this bike or the tarmac SL7. however does integration mean that only one shop mechanic can work on it three weeks from now on appointment?
I'm a bit confused about this 3mm offset of the steerer. That doesn't sound like it's a good idea in the long run - surely there must be increased stress and wear on the bearings and head tube? Obviously the jury is out, but I'd like to know what stress testing they did on it.
It'll be fine Cane Creek have been making offset cupped headsets to slacken out mountain bikes for years now as long as they are aligned correctly the bearing load is no different to how it would be normally once it's clamped in place.
you probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any tips you can offer me
Uber tidy and loving the bar, nice curves reminiscent of the original cinelli ram bars. I'm assuming this will come in both an HMF and HMX and will start the range with 105. With the non di2/etap version will it have continuous housing because that's a lot of extra bends to cause friction you might get some ghost shifting going on. Would love one of these but I guess I'll just have to "make do" with my Foil RC di2 first world problems eh, what a bummer.
@@peterlaskiewicz8252 ditto, I have the foil rc with di2 and it's a great bike stable at 60mph yet loves being thrown about and comfy enough not mind a bit gravel either.
I love Scott's ! But I'm not sure if I find the downtube to be aerodynamic enough ? Same with the seatpost. I ride a CR1 (Crampy Record Carbon), Superlight but lacks in aero...
It's a truncated aerofoil, imagine a teardrop with the end cut off at a point where the air can still meet up tidily. Scott are one of the few companies that use wind tunnels and bikes with riders on to develop their aerodynamics rather than relying on CFD alone. I had a carbon CR1 when they came out and I now have a Foil and it is definitely a quicker bike even though I had deeper rims on the CR1. Scott had help from Simon Smart to develop the Foil, look him up he's a top boy in F1 aerodynamics he also worked with Endura to design the now banned drag2zero skinsuit.

Good looking bike, but a Total Ripoff, 11,500 Euros! Insane buy it today , 6 months later 5,000 Euro’s! Real new price should be 6,000 Euros! 10 year loan from your local bank! How much does it costs the manufacturer to make it! 3000 Euros!

The Addict seems like a great bike but i would rather have the Wilier 0 SLR. The wallet says no to either of those though ;)
