Not just bass, I want one on every single pedal I own for guitar too it's an incredibly simple yet effective tool for tone shaping, I wish more pedals had it

Dear Nate: I'm sorry I can't really trust your reviews anymore. Any pedal you play through will sound amazing with those sick bass lines and playing. Way to go, man!
🤣 Thanks, man! For what it’s worth… Whenever I’m asked to demo a pedal (or bass) that I don’t resonate with, I politely decline. If you see a it on my channel, I personally like it. 😎
Nate, what changes have you made to your Harley Benton besides the ramp? Have you changed the pickups, electronics, tuners or bridge? I'm just curious as to how you've made that bass sound so great. Thanks for your playing. Blessings.
Yo Terrance! Thanks for asking, man. This bass is a prototype NN signature that’s currently in the works. We’ve added a finger ramp, as you saw, and a Babicz bridge. The final version will have the pups and electronics used here, except I’m replacing the neck pup with a humbucker. Also, the finger ramp will match the body. Currently aiming for release early next year.
@@NateNavarro, thanks for your helpful response. Hope your prototype is successful and affordable. So many of us would like to find a way to really show our suuport. Blessings.
My experience with the lizard queen was horrible and i thought it sounded like wet trash. But... I now have the lizard king and confirm that this is exactly what I was hoping for and it sounds gnarly. This thing is fun and I highly recommend it for bass. 👈🏼💯
Thanks, Lee! This bass is a prototype NN signature that’s currently in the works. I know it currently looks a ton like the MJ-4MN. We’ve added a finger ramp, as you saw, and a Babicz bridge. The final version will have the pups and electronics used here, except I’m replacing the neck pup with a humbucker. Also, the finger ramp will match the body. Currently aiming for release early next year.
Amazing as usual! Quite the impressive pedal (and back then you almost got me into buying the lizard queen), however personally for what i play (doom on a 5 string) i still prefer my Audiolithe Chaosculpt. If you get the chance, i would love seeing you jam on the Chaosculpt. I think you could rip the hell out of that :)
Hey man! The thing between my pickups is a “finger ramp.” It’s a piece of wood that keeps your fingers at a constant height with the pickups. It’s comfortable, helps conserve motion, and opens up more thumb-anchoring positions for different tones/plucking positions. This bass is a prototype signature that I have in the works with Harley Benton. Glad you liked the Lizard King! 🦎👑
Oof that’s a tough one. I’m gonna have to run them in tandem. haha Big Muff for lower gain, Lizard King for medium gain, and then engage both for a crushing fuzz tone. I’ll call it Godzilla Fuzz.
Soo got one of these guys... annnnnd it tone sucks no matter where I put it! Before EQ, after EQ, in a separate channel, start of chain, end of chain... Just sucks my tone and disappears in a mix... Anyone got any suggestions how to ACTUALLY use in a band mix before I flip it and quit? @NateNavarro
Having a split would be another good take on it. I sometimes split around 120 Hz to keep the lows completely clean (I did that with the Lizard QUEEN), but the Lizard King’s voicing is tailored for bass, so it stays punchy without getting boomy or muddy.
@@NateNavarro Thanks for your response. It doesn't totally surprise me that the answer is, "both ways can be good, depending on what you're working with and what you're going for. Always a treat to hear, & see, you play!
Thanks for watching, dudes!

Opening rift did you create it?@@NateNavarro
A blend knop on a pedal is always a king for bassblayers. Thanks to Nate and EHX. Great pedal.

Agreed on the blend knob! Thanks, man! 🙏
The intro just sold another one of these

I think you just didnt pay attention
Great video as always! I just got this pedal today. It rewards you for playing precisely. Guess who cleaned up his sloppy playing lol!
Wow! You make everything sound awesome, but this is so cool!
Thanks, man! Yeah, this pedal has VIBES! It should come with a pair of aviators. 😎
dude u are so skilled. so many techniques. flashy yet really grooves
Much appreciated, man! 🙏 Glad you noticed the juggle 🤹♂️

Glad to hear that! Thanks, man! 🙏
Nasty Nate strikes again
You are amazing and that bass sounds so good
Definitely impressed with how that sounds, love it

Fell into my basket... whoops
this guy is really good at doing demos.

amazing demo

Awesome to hear, PJ! Yeah, the new voicing and blend control is 🔥 for bass.
We need full track BASSed on intro riff!
Really cool tone dear friend!! Like +1🎸
Much appreciated, Nick! 🙏

That intro 👏

Nasty tone 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks, man! That Lizard King is merciless! 🦎👑
Got me. Mine just got here
You and Josh need to make a video!
I’m down! 😎
Of course Nate also absolutely rips on guitar. Is there anything he can't do?
Thanks, man! 🙏 Enough guitar players on bass, let’s flip the script! 🤣
Drums?
Did you make that finger ramp yourself @NateNavarro ???
Sounds great, I have the same bass, would love to know where you got the ramp
Make one yourself?

@@NateNavarro That would be so very awesome!
Please use the EHX Knockout instead of a clean blend (just the low knob!) and really set the bass distortion world on fire
I like that take! I’d call the knob Lizard Phat.
What is this thing between your pick ups?
And what does it ?
And.. i shure will get a lizard king wenn i can buy it here in Germany!

does this pedal go before compression near front of chain?
wicked!..now would you pick this over a Big Muff?

@@NateNavarro Muff into King or vice versa? Gonna pair it with my mini Russian for mighty green fuzzy death in a small footprint 😅
The opening kind of reminds me of the band “Korn”
Mmm no
@@sergioaraya681 I don’t listen to Korn to often. (I’ve only listened to a couple of their songs)
Not even... And the guy from Korn can't even play bass

On a related note, some lizards enjoy eating corn. There is untapped potential here. 🦎👑🌽

🤣 Maybe under the hood.
Blend vs. frequency band split; thoughts?

Thanks, mate! Just playing what the Lizard King ordered. 🦎👑
Not interested in the pedal, but the play-throughs were nice.
