I remember back in the early 70's seeing R.W. Hubbard on the beach below Galveston during Spring Break, and it was a wonderful time until the tide washed in, and the stage had to be moved way back off the shoreline...So we all just got drunker then we were already....Good old Days...

Saw Ray perform recently and yes, his show was outstanding. Rick wasn't playing drums and although the other drummer did a fine job... Rick just smokes the rhythm and beat. A real snake charmer in his own right.

I am trying so hard to listen to his music and appreciate it. He plays great, but he just goes for all the easy rhymes. He just keeps repeating lines over and over. Come on. I want so to appreciate it but it's just to lazy. :-(
Youre missing the music while youre trying to hear it. Just listen to it and enjoy it. He isnt Ray Wylie Shakespeare. He has a song named Snake Farm for gods sake.
