statistically, nearly all Jedi in the old republic were Yoda's students. can you imagine the pain he mustve felt when they were all killed?

attachment leads to grief, which leads to suffering, which leads to the dark side. Let go of attachment, you must.
He cares for all life, he is affected by its loss, even more so when his life is connected so strongly as with all those Jedi he taught. While you can tell he is able to let go of their deaths, and does not become emotional, in the moment it is shocking to even him, the most practiced Jedi in the Galaxy. He does however remain in control, not seeking revenge, just wanting to prevent more death.

I know the timelines are off but I think it would be cool if they could do a Yoda movie set about 800 something years BBY and still have the Sith Empire around and have Yoda and the Jedi Empire slowly rooting out the last of the Sith. Maybe Yoda himself could destroy some pretty well known Sith. I think that would be awesome

Remember that Yoda personally knew of Chewbacca in episode III, a generation before Luke. Is it at all likely that Yoda; through some Jedi clairvoyance deliberately placed Chewbacca at Han Solo's side? Specifically setting into place all the events to take place in episodes IV through VI?
Yoda had nothing to do with Han and Chewbacca. Chewy was slaved and Han saved him

So then, what are the odds of Han and Chewbaca being at the very cantina that Luke and Obiwan were to go to hire Han? Since Yoda knew of Chewbaca, and as you put it; Han rescued Chewbaca. What are the odds that it would be Han and Chewbaca that would help Obiwan and Luke to rescue the Leia? Han being instrumental in helping Obi Wan and Luke to save the Leia; when Yoda was so close to the Leia's family and to Darth Vader? I can't really imagine this being entirely coincidental; it had to be pre-planned, given all the random possibilities and outcomes. But if your argument; even if based on Star Wars cannon, is true, I find it weak and lazy, and unimaginative to the Star Wars universe.
+Hydden N. Plainsyght Han use to be a storm trooper when he rescued Chewy. Yoda would've known nothing of Chewy because he was exiled. While it would be neat for Yoda to set these things in motion it just isn't the case.

After watching them, please reconsider my question here; You mentioned that Chew was enslaved and Yoda was in exile. OK, fine. But Yoda was also no doubt in communications with others through the force; as Yoda was with Obiwan prior to Luke training with Yoda. Yoda would have known the well-being of Chewbaca since they were close friends at the end of episode III, just before Yoda went into exile. It is also said that Yoda was one incredibly Jedi, strong with the force; which means, he would certainly have the same abilities of controlling events as it is suggest that Palpatine may have done to create turn Anikan to the dark side and create Darth Vader by possibly controlling the death of Padme through the force.

You forgot that Luke and Rey became Grandmasters after each restarted their new Jedi Order.
Yoda was always a secret Sith. He knew Sith policy (as in The Rule of Two). He weakened the Jedi Order for centuries, clouding their judgement. He antagonized Anakin, driving him to the Dark Side. He refused to identify Palpatine as a Sith. He knew that Luke wouldn't be converted on Bespin, so he told Luke not to go. All this is just a smoke screen to cover his tracks, so Sith tactics wouldn't be revealed.

It may yet be revealed about Yoda, but if you look at his actions while he was in charge of the Jedi Order, he did more than anyone to destroy it by allowing it to fester and stagnate while he sat on his comfy little cushion. He did that for hundreds of years. If a storyteller (like Lucas) tells you one things, but the character's actions show another, it can only be propaganda. We keep getting told Yoda was the best Jedi ever, but we don't see it. We see he has intimate knowledge of Sith secrets and he weakened the Jedi Order to allow it to collapse under the weight of its own corruption. He's either grossly incompetent, or he was in league with the Sith all along. One thing he wasn't was a good Jedi leader, and someone is working really hard to hide that.

In this as well as in the Star Wars movies, I don't see how or when Anakin learnt to become a Force-Ghost. Yoda learnt it from Quaigon and taught it Obiwan before Luke grew up, but Darth Vader wouldn't have learnt it from Darth Sidius, as Sith don't become Force-Ghosts. Also with that ability one would expect Anakin to appear in front of Ben Solo, because Anakin would have been very ashamed of what Ben was doing in his name.

Daniel Gardiner He did learn actually, he was learning to become a full force ghost but never completed his training, which is why he was only able to come back as a voice, and was not able to return with his body like the others.

Yoda did have a role to play in the new Canon. He appeared to Luke Skywalker in his ghost form in Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, to tell him that he must inspire Rey, who became the Last Jedi.
Yoda later gave Luke his final lesson in Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

The one you can clearly hear is Obi Wan, but before that there is a second voice, distorted so you can barely hear it, but if you pay attention it's there and it's Yoda saying "It's energy.." which is a snippet from the line "Its energy surrounds us and binds us" from Empire Strikes Back

Wait. Yoda learned how to become a force ghost from Qui Gon and then told Obi Wan, that Qui Gon will teach him, too (and apparently he learned it).
But how did Anakin know, how to do it?
+MrTietzeOdinson That's a good question, and one that does not have an official answer, but my guess is that he plays by special rules since he was born of the Force. Since he was the chosen one, he may have become a force ghost naturally, perhaps that was always his destiny.

Wait wait wait. What? Where the hell is Moraband? The Sith Homeworld is Korriban. There's also Ziost, Rhelg, Kher Delba, and Dromund Kaas, but I've never heard of Moraband.
Also, what is Darth Bane doing anywhere? His consciousness was pushed into the void when he tried to take over Darth Zannah and if ANY bit of him survived ANYWHERE it would be on Ambria where the battle took place. To say nothing of the fact that the knee high troll would not be able to stand against Darth Bane in any capacity.
+Laughing Man The Old Expanded universe is no longer canon, all that info is gone. In the new canon George Lucas changed the name of Korriban to Moraband, and Darth Bane was now buried on Moraband, which means his story has also changed, but we don't have more details yet.

All my books are still around and guaranteed better than.. whatever this came from. I'd much rather refer to them than to the word of a fat old man who can't hold a pen without help. Korriban is Korriban and Darth Bane ceased to be on Ambria.
