ON OFF button should be outside separate in some box because it's points are open in bucket and steam may create moisture which could create spark when operate it's good video very nice
would be easier to just attach a hose to a boiling kettle.

How much gap is required between inner bottom of bottle and iron strip from end?
Very creative and ingenuitive! I think taping the wires after screwing them tight is wise because they can get hot and it's close to wood right?

Actual steamers need distilled water and they're expensive
You have a good idea but
1-I think to put wood in water packet is not a good choice plastic separator with heating resistance is better
2- all the plastics in your project must be with boiling water resistance so they will not melt when heating you can choose something out of old ironing steam boilers
let me know, how long did it take for steam to come out
Please also mention the size of the iron strips.
Power on off switch is exposed to water vapour or drops and cable hole is not sealed.
