Just as you said, it reminds me of Limp Bizkit. The first song that comes to my mind would be "Boiler". So experimental. I really enjoyed it. Some parts of the song remind me of Cypress Hill "Insane in the Brain" aswell. Soo good!

Hobi's always had that darker, natural swag, this is just another part of his persona. All 7 of them have different sides and I'm so happy they have more freedom to explore and show it in Chapter 2.

You NEED to listen to the whole album beginning to end now. I’m still delving into the lyrics between streaming, but Hobi said it told a story, and it’s so clear even from the song titles. I’m pretty familiar with grunge, but had literally never listened to hip hop/rap before discovering BTS, and I have to say I’m loving this style from Hobi.
J-hope always had that in him. He just chose to show the bright side when with BTS. The members always says J-hope is very serious person when comes to work, they don't mess up with J-hope.

bts members have never lacked the freedom to tell their stories but none of them is one-dimensional you see this is just another persona of jhope that we're getting to see for the first time. you should check out other solo stuff he has put out before and pay attention to the lyrics because this isn't as sudden as you think it is.

Hobi has ALWAYS had this side of him. He literally grew up as a street dancer, listening to old school hiphop 24/7. People always assume hobi isn’t deep into the genre and he doesn’t understand it like Namjoon and yoongi, but he started at 10 years old. People are always sleeping on him and not realising his skills and that he’s just there to smile and make cute noises and tbh I’m so happy he put this album out to prove those people wrong. Also it does line up lmao, listen to hangsang and baseline. Hobi has such an understanding of rhythm and music in general and I’m sick of people thinking he can’t do this. Maybe watch his hope on the street vlives and see how he is way more talented than people give him credit for. Another thing people underestimate about him is his lyrics. Hobis dad is a literature teacher, so he constantly references books in his songs, and this whole album is basically a story. This song is about the cause (him burning and running which basically means never giving up and pushing forward) and effect (burning out, not knowing what to do with his career anymore, etc.) of fame

Loved your reaction. I believe this is who he is. BTS was his job. In this song he says he did his job, and now he’s done. His flow is literally FIRE!!!!
JHope always had that swag. He become the sunshine just to bring hope to the world. But even the light have the darker side too. Every Persona have its Shadow. Maybe this is how Hobi accept both side of him to become his Interpretation of his own Ego. In this song, he reflected all of his journey with BTS and his desire to be more burn in his own music. Hobi is shooting fire everywhere just to light up our spirit that became down after 2 year covid. In this song, he also give us his brighter side. All we have to do is choose to put off our spirit or to burn it to make better version of us.
Isn’t this amazing? Omg, Hobi is absolutely fire! He said in some things recently that he wanted to explore his darker side more on this album and wow. I suspect this is a genre he wanted to try and that’s why he did it. And wow, the beat! About him being our sunshine, remember the sun is also a huge ball of fire lol. Some days you get the beautiful rays of sunshine, some days you burn!

Well I think Hobi finally set fire to the 'Kpop' label and the stereotypes that come with it. JHope has nothing to prove but I am still amazed at how innovative this is, old school but fresh at the same time. BTS know ARMY better than we know ourselves, chapter 2 was definitely needed!💜

I think, in his own way,.J-Hope has been trying to tell us for a while, a year at least, that he's not been ok,.that he's been under pressure to keep his sunny exterior when, inside, there have been darker thoughts and he wanted to bring that darker side to his solo music.
It's funny actually when I watched the video first thing this morning, The first thing I thought was that the beat sounded like a heartbeat. And then the part of the video where it goes inside him and shows the heart beating? It's cemented my thought that the lyrics of these songs are literally him laying himself bare. He has literally put his heart and soul into it. I'm so proud of him and totally in awe of him and OMG I will so be streaming this song, More and the whole album because he deserves this to be successful.

With these first two songs you are so right, there are so many questions, and not yet any ( actually should be many )answers. I’m loving this so much. I’m hoping this album takes us on a journey like so many BTS albums do. Every track and even the order of the tracks tells a story or a message from beginning to last song. This album feels like just jumping on a train and having no idea what’s the destination and what’s in store for us at the end.

There are two behind the scenes of this mv and he was really involved in the entire cd production (merch, mvs, adverts, everything) and had a definite vision of his work. I love the first shot though cause it's SO LONG for an uncut take. You don't see many of those anymore in cinema because they are difficult to do. I'm so happy for him and I LOVE this style! I wish Jay could put out more music.

he has always been experimental with his music that is what i love the most about him. He is never afraid to try new things and explore. The greatest thing about it is that he does that TOO WELL. The man is never slipping. HE is too versatile , the most talented artist I've ever come across.
HopeWorld is a piece of art too ppl might confuse the looks and mvs with the music cause unlike how bright and colorful HW was it was pure hip-hop and unlike how funcky it might seems the lyrics was deep and meaningful and some were even sad. So i don't think that is a new J-hope.. J-hope has always been creative and brave with his music it is just him continuing what he has always been doing : creating good music while trying new things and challenging himself. And this time around he really showed us how far he've become as an artist and a musician. JITB is easily the best release this year both in and outside Korea. It is just perfect!
This is the side he hides behind the smile. ‘The brightest smile holds the most pain’ definitely applies.
They are all so multi faceted. (as are most humans) Artists/musicians in particular have deep/dark sides to them I think, that don't always come out to play, but when they do (like this song in particular) Whoa. I am just thrilled to see them crushing it both together and separate. BTS has always had a deep, dark, rage-filled side, but they set it aside when the world needed the light more. Now that things are settling back down I cannot wait to see what else they have been sitting on.

You know, no one person is one thing. j-hope has such depth and range, and he's bringing us into another side of him. I get the feeling that the style is something that is part of an artistic evolution of experimentation - like that this album is an artwork, and him flexing and playing in a direction he probably hasn't been able to do if not for having this opportunity for a solo project. I realllly love how authentic it feels. Remember - the sun is literally fire, so ..... he's burning brighter all the time for us to see. But his style has always been heavy on old school hip hop beat with his own twist.. so unexpected but not foreign either..
It wasn't really that dark but he always had that edge (for example he mainly did Dionysos) but again listen to the album, pull out the lyrics he explains it all!

I’m same personality and this is so emotional for me because you know, our personality hide our Dark thoughts because we don’t want others to worry. But Hobi realize he have people that care for him so we deserve MORE. So he came and show us. In song run, they say they are running, that’s why they have succes. But hobi was burning and is passionate about what he is doing. Now he show us his side, that it’s burning him and thinking is he should burn even more. You should check out not only this album but his previous mixed tape called hope world. It all showcases not only different sides of JDope but his rapping hip hop abilities.

They are all individuals all with their own feelings and have had to fit into what fans wanted. I think this is what he feels and how he is expressing his feelings that he has had to hide for years.

Definitely listen to the entire album in order the first time you listen to it. It tells a story when you hear it in order and it’s very surreal and incredible (Equal Sign is my favorite track)

Dear Luke, I just spent my weekend binge-watching your first reaction videos on BTS and what can I say? YOU'RE JUST LIKE ME!!! 😂😂😂 I became an Army in March this year and I'm hooked ever since! The amount of tears I cried in the past months could fill my bathtub 😉 It's like people say: You didn't know you needed them and suddenly they appear in the worst time of your life! When you get to listen to the album, my favorite songs are Stop and Music Box: Reflection. The beats are incredible (music box is only instrumental). His production style is so badass!
