No movie in my lifetime had more of an affect on me than this movie. I was a 9 year old kid, but I remember everything about this movie like yesterday. The Inspiration it gave you is like no other movie I have ever watched since then. It is a movie about never giving up. Just keep going. Stick around. Go the distance. And the simple law of averages says that something good eventually HAS TO HAPPEN when you are at Rock Bottom when you don't give up.
I’m 39 years young, a year ago I a lot like rocky in the first movie. I wasn’t in particularly good shape, I was really pushing for anything. I was very much going through the motions. Then one day the light clicked in my mind. I’m not getting any younger and it only gets harder as you get older. My dad whom I lost in 2019 was real big in the physical fitness thing. In fact before he got sick and pass I thought he would outlive everyone. Due to this and a combination of other factors, I said to myself “self, let’s make my 40’s and beyond the healthiest years of your life.” While it has not been an easy road, I am happy to say that after a year of diligence I have lost over 40 pounds, am now able to run an 8 and a half minute mile, and participated in my first 5 mile race. It has also inspired me to discover my path in life and promoted me to begin studying to become a personal trainer.
The original is such a powerful film. Just watched it again too. I love the sequels, too, but the original is such a moving, inspiring and down-to-earth film on its own. The sheer emotion of this lead up and the final fight is incredible. Really a masterpiece.
The real theme of Rocky isnt comeback wins, its always been about making it to the end. "Going in one more round when you don't think you can, is what makes a difference in your life."

It's wild to think that two years ago, I found this video when I was studying for my medical school entrance exam. Tonight, I am studying for the first of three licensing exams to practice medicine in the States. The road is difficult and lonely, but this video helps me light that fire under my ass to keep going. haha!

That child who has all the odds stacked against him/her in life, but one reason or another, still gives us that extra push to "go on", and succeed. Succeed in facing our challenges, success in life! This movie is a masterpiece, and the music greatly increases the likeability factor, as well as the acting. SIMPLY AWESOME!

I agree with you, Tommy…”Going the Distance” is the epic musical piece from “Rocky”. The piece itself is as if two fighters are going at it, the punch-counter punch action taking place, rising to the very end of the round.
It is glorious. They are chose people who bore Our Lord, Jesus and God led them out of Egypt through miracles like parting the Red Sea while being persued by Pharoh and his armies. Their history is glorious and Satan hates them but he can't destroy them and he never will.

I saw Rocky Balboa in theatres. I was 16. My first Rocky Movie besides Rocky 3 on TBS lol. I still remember everyone cheering when the music came on.
Easily the best song, though GFN is no slouch. The way he overlayed the track onto the video montage here was excellent.
