The Great Alone was on of my favourite reads last year, a 5 star read. It so deeply moved me and it’s definitely inspiring me now to pick up more Kristin Hannah! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts 🤗✨
Just found your channel very glad we have very similar taste! I recommend you two great books: The Stationary Shop and As long as the lemons 🍋 trees grow!!!! I LOVED them!
You’ll enjoy The Great Alone; it’s heavy on the family dynamics. All of Kristin Hannah’s books that I’ve read tend to be, but this one more so than the historical element. Exit West barely touched on the magical doors, which is what drew me to the book in the first place! You might like it, if I remember correctly it explores the main characters’ relationship and how they’re affected by war.
This is such a good list, especially based on knowing your taste from watching your videos! I defo think you’ll love most of these, especially Girl, Woman, Other. I LOVED that book, I also loved song of achilles so much I haven’t been that emotional over a book in a long time🥲
i read brief wondrous life & to the lighthouse to study in college and enjoyed them both! the latter does in fact have stream of consciousness style but it wasn’t confusing to me. hope you have a great reading year in 2023!
There There was one of my favorites last year--one of my top 4, even. Tommy Orange's writing style reminds me a bit of Junot Diaz's, so I love that you have Junot Diaz on your list too. I have liked everything Junot Diaz has written, but I loved This is How You Lose Her more than Oscar Wao.
Great Alone was a 5 Star read for me, but so was The Nightingale, Firefly Lane, & The Four Winds(Fly Away, the sequel to Firefly Lane was the non-5 star book of hers for me - 4 stars) Take My Hand was a 5 star read for me The Plot was very good too(4 stars)
Norwegian wood is one of my top fav books of all time, highly recommend it. You may not like it, it really depends on the person but it really deserves a chance. Enjoy💞
Wolf by Wolf is one of my favorite books but I will warn you that it starts out slow and that the second book isn't all that optional, unlike some other duologies. Once I got into the thick of it I couldn't put it down but it did take me a hot second so don't get discouraged if you're trudging through it at first!
Take My Hand is very good and you'll love it considering your major and interests! Read it soon! Oh I did like The Plot too. Honestly ... it's a moral question if what the prof did was "wrong" or not. I don't think it was 🤔
Oh and Exit West does have a magical realism element. It's almost like a post apocalyptic civil war... it wasn't my favorite but it has good ratings. And it's short 🤷♀️

Super excited for both of those!!!

A lot of great stuff! There, There reminded me of White Teeth by Zadie Smith, except maybe with less comedic overtones.
The plot was one of my faves! It was slow but worth it
Wolf by Wolf was a great duology! Rebecca was so atmospheric, great pick.
So excited for both!!
Happy new year such great pocks the wolf book sounds so good!
