    1st time hearing of sand blending

    • @princenikki
      @princenikki  Před rokem +1

      Sand blinding is very essential. It prevents the stones in the laterite from penetrating through the damp proof membrane (DPC). If it’s not done well and compacted the DPM is likely to fail leading to raising damp. Our next episode would be on laying the DPM and casting the floor slab.

  • @l.e.sparklesfkaelliesparkl5875

    Did they have to add any water during the 1st compacting?

    • @princenikki
      @princenikki  Před rokem +1

      Yes, water was over night although not necessary because the laterite grade was good.

  • @l.e.sparklesfkaelliesparkl5875

    Did the rocks gointo the foundation as well?

    • @princenikki
      @princenikki  Před rokem +1

      No the grey rocks are for the floor slab which will be the next video. A lot of the materials there were our preparation for casting the slab whilst we were in Ghana.
