An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

I am flabbergasted that I have seen Segways driving around for years with tourists on them, and not for one second I have ever thought this technology could be of such importance of parallized people.
I hope they succeed.
Theyve been around for quite a few years to be honest, Segways have also been used for all sorts, Go-Karts, Trikes, Even ride on shopping trollies in some parts of europe for the elderly and people with health problems, Anything that already has wheels can pretty much have a segway incorporated onto it with the correct ingenuity.
Imagine having legs and not use them. Every wheelchair user I talked to said they would sell their grandmother to get functionable legs again
When given the choice of the 1k mobility scooter vs this which is 17k... they usually go with the cheaper LOL...
See why you havent seen much around ?
Clearly the sharks do not now what the expensive being disable is

My sister-in-law has one of these chairs and it has been such a life changer for her. Great Kiwi ingenuity!
What is it called ?
@@Ls_Chainless Watch the video and you'll see...

Just shows when one Dragon shows some compassion. What a turn around and all other dragons follow. Ratching down the usual greed model and actually instilling some humanity and COMPASSION in business. God knows the world needs more leaders like this... Kudos to Stephen
I couldn't agree more. Compassion and Empathy strives the willingness to succeed. Beautiful. I am sure they are doing well.
I have something in common with Touker, my background is also opening doors, I've done it many times
The only difference is he opens doors to an avelanche of cash
Yes, but can you offer empty floors of office space?, and "Touker time" 🙂
Wheely inspiring stuff.

Making Segway tech useful, not just for security guards to ponce around on. Graet and good luck.
That was a win-win, credit to Stephen for rolling it. They each get 5% for just over 13K each
Your halfway to become a human spider 🕷️🕸️
@@gv7217 I would suggest they will be lobbying relevant government bodies to subsidise, I also think their cost can reduce dramatically. It's basically the same tech that's been in a segway for years😊
@@gv7217more than you think. If you add up esa and pip the benefits I’ve been refused, you could easily afford it.
Do the maths my friend this deal is rubbish for the dragons
@@spicekid2582 how is it they each get 5% of the whole business, they already sell two a month via word of mouth and their like 15-17k. So without improvement (which the dragons would obviously cause due to their investment) that’s 300k plus a year, I think they said they make about 5k per each unit in profit, so sticking to the just 2 their currently selling a month, that’s 120k profit a year. 5% is 6k each.that’s half their investment back in one year without improving the business.
Obviously with the dragons getting them a warehouse etc their sales would be a lot more. So yes it is worth it
I think everyone who sees this video is glad you two fellows succeeded with this Life Changing & Life Enhancing Product. Personally I felt joy when the first investor said YES I will invest in your product. The brilliance and creativity of the mind at work.
Such a heartfelt episode. Happy they secured an investment
I was just disappointed they didn't both do a wheelie when they got the dragons' investments.
Those wheels will get so many doing off road activities and explore the great outdoors. Well done and good luck with the business.
at the price they are many many wont be able to obtain one
@@melin1969 It's EXTREMELY CHEAP for a proper wheelchair, let alone one like this
@@mehere8038 And we can't afford those either.

According to Omeo's website these guys are sales agents in London only. Omeo appears to have done everything that Peter J was suggesting they do. Kiwi's werent going to give this goldmine away.
Brilliantly executed and well done you guys you deserve to make this happen. Well done to the Dragons for your input and support 👍. I’d definitely be on board to sell these brilliant mobility/ways to improve the quality of lives to them that haven’t been able to achieve their goals.
I'd even invest 13 grand of my own money for 5% of that business I've got a feeling this will take over
Never with that price point. Or it depends what you mean by "will take over":
@@MultiJejjeNew innovations are always very pricey at the beginning and then the prices usually go down after a while.
@@jujutrini8412this is an electric wheelchair......they have been around for years 😂
@@jujutrini8412 no, it won't go down, this is already super cheap for mobility equipment! Go look at the prices for e-motion wheels or "smart drive" (which are both just basic add ons to a manual wheelchair to give some power assist) even just a basic manual wheelchair, go look at the price if you think this is expensive!
Steven Bartlet is such a nice guy.
That business is going to explode with thosec3 Dragons on board!
Please someone make a charity to help more of us get these!!
Look at the NDIS in Australia & pressure your government to adopt it there, so you can all get them
Hahaha good luck wi that 😂😂😂😂
Unfortunately Western countries' Govts are busy with defining or undefining genders and sexuality.
Well done chaps and congratulations and for getting 3 dragons on board omg you've done fantastic 👏
I'm very pleased for them, I hope they do well.
WOW. I live in New Zealand and hadn't heard about this. I'd have been interested enough to get involved financially. However, the points raised by Peter(?) at the beginning are valid. These two guys are essentially just ordering "parts/functions" from two sources and jigsawing them together. I'd want to buy the patant or whatever from the "Inventor". The self balancing tech from China is available from a number of different sources. EG Look at all those EV Scooters, Skateboards and Bikes and others who also have similar tech. That total cost of 7,000 and 5,000 is just too much. Should be half, at least.
I mean, what's to stop me going direct to the Inventor and buying their product? Then cutting off the English operation once the Contract is up and launching my own?
NOTE WELL: I love the end product. My partner would have enjoyed it before, sadly, she passed away from MS complications. If only I had known about it!
They are based down in Otaki, on the Kapiti Coast. I remember they got a decent start up loan From Shane Jones's PGF, a few years ago. On a side note I have a feeling the big cost of the chairs is due to them paying licensing fees to 'Segway'
Can’t wait to see how this grows for them! Wishing the best
Great stuff. This will change lives. Well done. Good luck.
Two very inspirational lads. Wish them the very best 👏
It’s probably the Dragon’s input that will be of more value than the money. They really seemed to want this to succeed - for future users. Let’s hope so 👍
Awesome I truly hope they exceed 👍
This is the right outcome. Too risky a venture to invest all the money in, but worth splitting the cost. With the right mentoring, they can turn this into a good social business
Next they need to get them approved under insurance plans.. so user not paying out of pocket for full cost, insurance plans are
Very good point. Pretty sure the sharks will figure that out.
absolutely!
Wow! Amazing Dragons. Delighted for both Matthew and Christian.
Awesome. I hope I see these everywhere very soon.
This business will hit big millions in couple of years ahead
I am glad the Dragons didn't ask them to go have a discussion near the wall.

I wish the lads well , anything with a disabled logo puts a massive premium on everything.
This is wonderful perfect result great team . Good luck for all your future ventures.x
This is very touching well done Dragons
I pray this come at a price that will make them available to the majority of wheelchair bound people...Most of whom have not got a lot of money!
this is why governments need to step up, cause this is already cheap for a good wheelchair
They should rent them out and also put them on finance so people have some chance to use maybe own them one day.
@@sakhter4044 Some are available on finance and rental...but very few.
Great episode. Quite inspiring guys.

If I had the money I would definitely invest in this business. I am disabled and use a mobility scooter to go out and about with. I can still walk a little but not far any more and there are so many places that I cannot go now even with a scooter. These chairs are life changers despite their cost. I truly hope these men get their business up and thriving.

Wow that was such an amazing 😻
I got emotional watching that
Am sooo glad they made them an offer. Well done
I think it’s a great idea but I’m disabled I get roughly £1000 a month how any one can afford £17000 for a wheelchair is beyond me
People on less than you a month seem to manage the purchase of a new electric car though? Maybe it's priorities.

This is basically bringing the Segway tech to those who really need it most, and wouldn’t just do it for the views on Tik Tok. I hope this becomes a staple worldwide.

Got excited seeing this. A spinal cord injury limits my mobility and this offers hope of more options for freedom of movement

Peter is incorrect about the usage of the word "OEM" because using his example, Samsung doesn't build all of their products. Individual components inside a PC, for example, are made by others. An OEM warranties their end product and has their name on it.
Samsung produces everything. From the chips, to the screens. The OEM is the initial manufacturer.
WRONG
So proud of these guys. I wld buy one of those !!
This is why Steven where he is today ❤️

Wow amazing product. Hope they do so well
Love the dragons and their swag
what they need is a deal with one of the big para-sports governing bodies. if they could get the costs down on a bulk order it could probably happen
costs aren't coming down, this is already cheap for mobility equipmnt!
A huge proportion of disabled people struggle financially. How on earth are we expected to find £17k?
They only need a small % of the market.
People who are disabled and have mobility issue can get PIP(Personal Independence Payment) which majority use to get a mobility car. So the £17k will not be an issue.
Will they give the car up?
@@Chopper8472 If you think that people on PIP won't find £17k an issue you need to give your head a wobble.

I’m glad for these guys to get the dragons to agree to invest in their company, I do however have a problem that these guys have been shafted. £40,000 for 15% when they’d been offering just 5% shares is bad. The dragons saw them coming it seems, but I really hope that these fellas make it work.
the publicity they got from this tv segment alone more than covers all that revenue loss! They got a great deal! They need mentoring!
A funny fact: the dragons each gave them less than a single chair is worth haha
they gave them less than a chair costs - totally different
@@Sir_Henry_Bossocks You tell 'em Sir Henry, jolly good show old chap, what what?
Amazing
Good on you 👍
This would be so perfect for me. 🎉
It is a good business if and only if an efficient servicing of the product is offered. It is NOT only selling them but also keeping them running well for clientele. How would it feel to have one in a corner of the room gathering dust without a competent network of servicing. Zero discussion of maintenance was a HUGE oversight. Who would buy a car if there were no mechanics to service them.
you could use the technology from a hover board, a seat from a mobility scooter and stabilizers to stop falling o far forward and backwards
Peter at nesrly $1.5 billion and still looking to invest. Go relax😂. Love the motivation of these two guys pushing forward with life.
He's actually helping people by investing.🙄
That was lovely to watch. Peter was also right, but it was still a good investment. I believe that this can only become better.
The issue with these that no one clocks on to is that they are SO unstable when it comes to kerbs etc. You really do need something with 4 wheels, 3 at least. I wish them the best of luck but these balancing wheelchairs are just impractical for the most part.
I see that they are now selling these in the US and Canada. Business must have been good
will you give me info on how to contact Canadian company
He was so excited he couldnt do 5x3 in his head 😅
How do we independently transfer and put this in a car?
40k is pocket change to some of them, i would have just given them what they wanted at their rate, some things are more important than profit imo.
You missed the point. It's not the investment amount. You have 3 very experienced business men that are going to give up their time and connections to help these people. My feeling is that they are going to need a lot of their time. Which is a lot more valuable.
Toukers worth about 200 million, Bartletts worth about 70 million and Sara who is worth a little less is worth about 36 million. They are investing £13,333.33p which is probably the of me investing £30, they are not going to notice it's gone out of their bank account.

Sad and pathetic
It's the time commitment, not really the money. Plus the reason they got there in the first place was by being ruthless with their money and influence.
@@wildnfree101 What you're worth and how much money you have are different, you're probably worth millions but they are tied up in your house, cars, etc. For them it's their companies, and they can't just sell of portions of it to invest. These should be able to be produced and sold for only around 2 times the cost of Segway self-balancing scooters!
The world always takes advantage of those most in need...

Great deal
thank god theres a lift!
A fake lift but it makes things easier all the same...
kinda goes without saying that there's going to be, how do you think all the various equipment used in different pitches gets in there?
That's just a passage in a wall in the set for dramatic purposes. Note that the floor never moves and how one wall has to be entirely missing to film all those side shots of the pitchers celebrating in the lift afterward.
There is also no gap and the door sometimes opens with human timing, clearly being pulled by stage hands...
In earlier seasons, they had a staircase which only had around 3 steps and the producers filmed them going up real stairs in another studio.
It really bothers me when things are faked for no substantial reason.
