Journal 06/24/2024 - "Collect-A-Con"

One of the things I did this past weekend was go to the traveling convention concept, Collect-A-Con. It was different. I knew going in that they were promoting it as the largest pop culture type event of the area (the marketing dept putting in overtime to ignore the various and long running shows of the KC areas). This is just the first part of an overview of the show, I'll have two more videos about it coming up. One with footage from the show, and one showing the items I did pick up while there.
The main enjoyment I got was just hanging out with my brother, and finding a small handful of things to add to the studio collection. The gist of the video above has my thoughts, but in a nutshell, I can't recommend this show. At ALL. UNLESS, you are mainly focused on Pop Vinyl figurines or Pokemon cards, there really wasn't all that much for you to experience. Yes there were some nice media guests, and the live performances were cool for what they were.
But a lot of the booths were devoid of difference from one another, especially in what offerings they had. It was great to see some actual artists in the mix, I only saw three or four, and I hope they had a good show.
