    This is hard to explain. My son and I are both Autistic. I rend to have severe emotional disregulation. My son is stoic with his emotions. Almost like he is scared of them. He is 8 years old. I put this on thé tv and he went somewhere. He closed his eyes and nodded his head. He started crying but not sadness. He got up from the. Couch and started dancing the most beautiful movements. Joy. Pure joy. Something unlocked in him and he has not been the same since. The light in his eyes was amazing. I just can’t really describe it. It was so beautiful.

    It just so happened that I was part of the event. It was one of the most impressive singing experiences of my life, singing opera choruses with 54,000 singers and symphony orchestra, and then to improvise with Bobby McFerrin.
    Just to illustrate how difficult it was to bring the huge choir together: because of the size of the stadium, the sound took about one second from one end of the choir to the other. Not easy to improvise rhythmically under these circumstances. His improvisations where much more differentiated when I sang with him later in Zurich in a small group.

The emotions I feel when I listen to certain music, is unexplainable. I WISH I had a good singing voice because I would never stop singing. • @Bunny99s
    @Bunny99s Před rokem +23

    What's the most impressive thing that most don't notice is that huge crowds are "stupid" as they are affected heavily by group dynamics. Bobby was first singing a more complex progression and wanted the crowd to join. However some started clapping (which is much easier) and the whole crowd joined clapping. He then tried to sing higher notes hoping the crowd would realise which didn't work. So he made a complete break and started over. This time he he avoided the repetitive motion of his hand which would just animate the clappers again and just sing a single note waiting until the crowd joined in. Once they were actually singing (or tuned in) he could actualy work with the crowd.
    Controlling such a huge group of people is not easy and when they don't do what you want it's really hard to get them back under your control. That's one of the brilliant takeaways of this performance (besides the awesome improv and the amazing Bobby McFerrin).
    I always like to come back to this.

    The healing capacity of mass choir events like this is off the charts.. this should be something we see in every town and city of the world, not just one offs.. people could heal singing on street corners and in parks, two people harmonizing can heal a small group, a stadium full of voices CAN heal the world. We need more of this 🥰
