Why SILVER ROUNDS are the best silver for stacking

- In this video I talk about silver rounds and why they are the best silver for stacking right now. When it comes to buying generic silver you have silver rounds or bars. Silver rounds are similar to silver coins although they are made by private mints and not a government owned mint and they do not have a face value. Silver rounds are usually 1 oz of .999 silver and buffalo silver rounds are the most popular. Silver buffalo rounds are extremely recognizable and liquid as far as generic silver rounds go. The best silver rounds to buy will be the cheapest silver rounds you can find. I have made videos in the past talking about silver rounds vs coins, silver rounds vs bars, and silver rounds vs silver eagles but times are changing. In this silver rounds unboxing video I share 3 reasons why silver rounds are currently king.

Local farmer here will trade silver for side of beef , or a pig . Many people are accepting silver and gold .
Just started stacking silver, your videos have been extremely enlightening. My first silver round I purchased last week was a silver eagle, I got home and realized the coin I arbitrarily chose had my birth year! Took it as a good omen and I immediately began buying and trading for more. Will switch from eagles and leaves to buffalos. Thanks dude
Buffalos are “rounds” Eagles are “coins” the difference is coins are made by a countries government and can be used at the face value of the coins as legal tender. Rounds are just generic and that weigh 1 Troy oz
@@PM_kingCB awesome, thanks!
@@L0cK0n7412637 I wouldn’t buy eagles right now if you are stacking for value, the premiums are outrageous
@Josh Gunter I would stay away from minted government coins unless they are close to the price of silver buffalo's which are silver rounds especially since you are new into stacking.
Get some bars too. The premiums are even lower.
Love watching unboxing another great video. Thank you
Hands down the best form of silver to stack and resell during volatile markets. I've generated the best buy and sell returns on them in this order: 1. Standing Liberty's & 2. Buffalo/Bisons rounds. Love ur videos btw 🎉
Personally, I prefer stacking Britannias. In most cases the premium is only .50 more than rounds and have the added security and government backing.
I have heard from multiple stacker’s that Britannias will develop milk spots and it might be a reason not to purchase. I had started collecting them but stopped after reading comments multiple times
Currently SD bullion has the philharmonics for 70 cents less than buffalo rounds.
I'm honestly curious, what good is government backing realistically?
Do you want to sell your eagles for 1 dollar each?
@@reefa781my question exactly.
Its Regency mint that makes the textured design on the rounds in this video
"R" inside a "Star" logo
🙏🏽 love your channel as a new stacker you've taught me a lot🤘🏽
Great video S.D. Love how you always break things down and explain them in depth. And right now, I completely agree with the rounds. IMHO, they are the best value. I've hit the Asahi proof rounds hard! They are gorgeous.
Nice vid SD! Silver generic rounds have been my stacking choice in 2023. Also the occasional 10 oz bar. Keep stacking!
Liquidity largely depends on who you're going to be transacting with. Yes- with dealers, rounds can be an easily tested or otherwise trusted product. In a barter situation or with private sales,
rounds may be problematic- particularly if lacking an identifying mint source stamped on the round. I have seen Philharmonics as low as $2.99 over spot and for me it makes much
more sense to purchase sovereigns, and especially with a price point that low.
Thank you for introducing me to Pimbex!
Thanks for sharing 😊
Silver Dragon gives honest opinion and sound advice, always and 100%!! Easy and fun to watch and follow your footsteps to become a stacker🎉
Good advice, good video.
Great video! Totally agree. Just recently ordered 10 Cook Island Bounty coins for slightly less than any rounds I could find!
I like those buffalos. I actually got the same mint (a small star with an “R” in the middle)! I like the texture around them since you can’t see your fingerprints lol. I hope when I buy more my coin shop still has them.
I’m about half a year into my stacking journey and I’ve found that the more bang for the buck I got are from the 1oz rounds and 10oz bars. With gold I like getting the 1/10oz philharmonics.
yeah the bars are a great option as well! 🔥🐉
About to start my stacking, getting £1.5k some time in april, will start stack and add slowly over time, your vids are great!
Great video brother nice stack
Just started stacking a couple weeks ago and went with the golden state mint Buffalo rounds. Went with some Maples, Cook Islands and Krugerrands a few days ago to add some sovereign coins before the premiums got way too out of control. Now, as premiums are getting crazier, I’m going to go back to the buffalo rounds and some sunshine mint 10 oz bars. I want to get some Germania bars and maybe some 1 oz buffalo bars. I’m interested in getting 1/4 oz sovereign coins in anticipation of the price going up and for bartering purposes but my local dealer can’t even give me an estimated date on availability. As a new stacker I appreciate your videos. Thanks.
I love my half-ounce Walking Liberty rounds too! Very pretty and liquid as well.
AGAIN !!! Thanks to MR SD I just purchased the Libertad silver 2022 I been trying to get. . And I want to thank you for helping me in all my purchases Endless learning with you. Thanks again.
Great price on the Libertads! Watch for my next video. One feature is some awesome poured Dragon work! Stay safe, shoot straight and keep stackin!
I eould agree, but the milking spot problem reaaaaaally is making me look at the maples.
I agree on the rounds being the best to stack. I also love 1oz bars at the moment also.
Most bars I see have about $1+ premium above rounds. Not much but adds up.
I have been buying silver rounds 99% of the time due to premiums. Specifically the sunshine mint rounds because of the security feature that I really like. The other 1% of the time I've been grabbing 5oz and 10oz germania mint bars.
I love those germania bars 🔥🐉
Hahaha.....you talk about buying for low premiums....then you talk about Germania silver.
Interesting info to consider.
Thanks😊
I’m traveling right along with you, SD. Stacking for weight, lower premiums, etc. It’s the best way.
Wow, that is a good price for Silver Libertad's is a good price, I purchased 10 right of the bat. Appreciate the heads up on that. Thank You Sir.
I love Rounds. Although I been getting constitutional for $22.50 time face. Not bad. Thanks SD
I've found the silver brits to be almost the same premium compared to generic when buying. It was a $ 0.20 cent difference.
It seemed to me like a bargain for the extra value of a coin vs. round. Plus, the Queen should be worth more than her dolt son in the future.
@@unclefester6501 yeah, i didnt mind the 20 cent premium. I just wont do the higher premiums because ASE are just too high
@@unclefester6501 LOL! I bought my first Brits WITH Charles, deliberately---because I have this strong feeling that the entire Monarchy is doomed, gonna crash entirely (like many institutions from the Old World) so I figured these might gain some extra numismatic value. I just don't believe he'll be 'King' for long. I have plenty of other silver with QEII on the back from Australia and Canada (and other territories).
What company are y’all finding only a .20 cent difference? Everywhere I’ve looked is around a $1.50 difference between a Brit and Buffalo rounds.
@@clintbennetsen6392 SD bullion and Pimbex were around $.20 difference when I ordered a week ago
The radial line rounds are the best. I got a silver gold bull round with the security lines similar to the 2014+ maples. I seen incuse and proof buffalos too
I just got two of those exact Buffalo rounds and wasn’t sure if they were legit. Now that I see you have a whole roll I feel a little better.
Started out with 1 Oz bars but then got buffalo rounds. The rounds just look so much cooler.
Nothing beats a quality 10 oz. bar of silver.
yeah rounds are awesome for sure 🔥🐉
Those are by far my favorite Buffalo round!
Is there a downside to purchasing the generic rounds with the bullion dealer design? Thank you! I've learned a lot from your channel!!!
I absolutely love Kilo bars of silver. Of coarse I have all kinds of rounds and 1oz, 5oz and 10oz bars also. Kilo bars usually have the lowest spot price compared to others. A kilo bar feels soooo good in your hand also.
I second this❤
The kilo bar was my first big purchase of a silver bar. I like the weight of them!!!❤❤❤
5oz proclaim liberty are most common in my stack. I like the Scottsdale 10oz stackers too.
Love love buffalo rounds….wish I could afford a full tube….gotta buy a few at a time. Hope what SD billion is doing won’t start a trend. Received an email a few hours ago that since their demand is so high they’re only taking orders of $500 and more. Makes me hope other online dealers don’t start leaving us guys without deep pockets out.
SD advertises so heavily, but if you check around ,they are rarely the best deal
Just picked up some generic rounds earlier for 3 above spot. Buffalo, liberty and apmex bars
Keep looking for them deals!,they are out there...I just picked up 2 buffalo rounds from my LCS for 27.25 each out the door, along with a 1891 Morgan for 30 bucks and some junk silver...forget what I paid , think I got a buck fifty face for 30 bucks...at any rate premiums are high, but so is spot..GL!
Just 2 & 3 weeks ago, on credit, Bold Precious Metals in Texas: 25 2023 Britannias (king version) were $24.60 each and 25 2023 Krugerrands the next week were $25.12 each . Knew this was very likely going to be the last of sovereigns at this price...
BTW, Thank you for your videos! 🕊️
I guess this answers my question on a previous video I watched lol
Hey SD. You mentioned rounds have lower premium. All my lcs sell rounds same price as Britannia or maples (~27ea). In that instance would it be better to buy those or buy rounds. Is buyback better on rounds?
I like 5+oz bars. They are cheaper per oz. Since lots of places changed free shipping prices.
Bison. Good work.
The Libertad is unbelievably beautiful.
Has Pimbex compensated you for this review?
Are 1kg bars the most cost effective with a lower premium? Essentially do you get more silver for your money? New to stacking.
You should check out the Buffalos that Monarch Precious Metals mints, great price!
How can you use these silver rounds as a barter? How would you know how much they are worth in the future? Can you do a video on this?
Another amazing video! 🐉🐲
Question. As a Canadian is it better to invest in American or Canadian Silver.. Thanks
Premiums are not bad on Buffalos, great research.
Took a bunch of cash to my local coins store today to get my first 10oz. They were completely sold out of everything other than 1oz. rounds...
Do silver rounds tone and milk spot and will they be taxed?
Wish we could get low premium sliver like that in Australia. The cheapest here is the 1oz Silver kangaroo at roughly $41 AUD an ounce.
Was surprised to see today that the Philharmonics have a lower premium than the generic rounds at my local coin shop. First time I've seen that though I haven't been stacking for that long so not sure how common that is.
I prefer the buffalo rounds from Golden State Mint, they look much better quality than those shown here and they put their name on them.
1oz rounds and 5oz bars is all I stack! Also I only buy silver when It's on sale. The last time I bought silver it was $2.39 over spot for 1oz rounds. $22.50 per oz
Should there be a category for silver rounds? Example holiday rounds, lunar rounds, comic/cartoon rounds, commemorative, etc…
Hey Silver 🐉. What say you about the price on the Libertads you mentioned ? It seems too good to be true at that price and you've warned about low prices on certain coins as being fake coins. Why are they so low on their website ?
Just got my first silver purchase yesterday and it was a buffalo round.
When DOW was in the 33k, silver price was down to 20/oz. Even dip under 20 for a few minutes. Then the banking "crisis"happen. DOW dropped to 31k and silver price shot up to 23.40s. Now, DOW is almost back to 33k again but silver price is not dropping back to 20. I miss paying 22/oz out the door for rounds and bars. 23-24 for philharmonic and britannia. Buying from California. Need to spend 1500 at a time.
Some states still charge sales tax for rounds.
Got some good deals from Pimex when the price dipped. Junk and maple Leafs.
Nice
I think it's up to the individual what is best for them to stack
I have a few different comments so this might be a long post.
I found silver buffalos cheaper at Bullionmax the other day at $25.25 each. I snagged 10 at that price. The higher free shipping threshold kinda keeps me from buying from Pimbex and some other sellers compared to Bullionmax and SD Bullion that offers free shipping on orders over $199 which leads me to the 2nd thing I wanted to say.
I recently got an email from SD Bullion saying that they are not shipping to customers unless they order $500 or more at a time and shipping times are being weighed down due to order volumes. Did you hear about this and what are your thoughts on the situation?
My favorite coins to stack are 90% silver
Couldn't believe it but had some generic silver rounds from Golden State mint and my local coin shop would not buy them. So does that mean some coin shops will not take generic silver rounds now? They were a hundred percent legit because I purchased them directly from Golden State mint. Does anyone have any opinions on this matter? Need to say also that I wasn't very happy and will not be going back to this coin dealer anymore. I've spent thousands of dollars there and he just lost my business. Afterwards I did go to another coin dealer I patronize and he bought them right away.
I much prefer 10 oz silver bars as they often carry the lowest premium and can be sold in zero time flat to any coin shop or by posting an ad on any gun forum. When it comes to cheap, divisible with a high potential for appreciation, ammo is by very far your best bet (it was up 3x 4x during the pandemic).
I just bought 700 Buffalo rounds, can't wait to get them.
How was your purchase?
The Philharmonics on SD Bullion were actually cheaper than any of the rounds. I think they are about even now and the same price,or nearly so, as the Britannias.
Received my 1oz silver unity and liberty silver round made by cutsaw mint from hero bullion today
Mouth-watering 🤤
Bought some Buffalo rounds @1.78 over spot last week from Bullion Exchange. Silver was 23.34 spot
For me, the Maria Theresia Taler is best for stacking. Yesterday I bought 174 pieces of Maria Theresia Taler in the pawnshop of my town in Germany for a total of €3,045, which is €17.50 per piece, which is very close to the spot price. Each coin has 23.39g of silver That's 0.75 ounces per coin, so all 174 coins together equal 4069.86g of silver: 31.1 = 130.86 ounces, the €3,045 I spent divided by 130.86 ounces = €23.27 per ounce I paid what was as much as $25.57 and I think that was a good purchase, I have also bought Maria Theresia thalers before between €13-20 each and now I have a total of 392 pieces which corresponds to a total of 294 ounces, these coins are very cheap and have the most beautiful design
The buffalos are far too expensive for me in Germany at €26-30 and I don't like the design
How do you feel about bigger silver round
Literally put this up, right after I opened my buffalo's today.... Lol
I wonder what your earliest round of silver you remember stacking or the first round you ever bought?
Cool video love those buffalos, just a suggestion that may be worth mentioning, all over CZcams including your videos you find these dumb scammers in the comments, saying how they can make you so much money and how they became rich investing with a Mr or Mrs and a generic name, maybe it would be worth mentioning in your videos so no one would ever fall prey to them, although I think everybody here has enough brains not to.
I’ve got rounds. But I also have a lotta 5-100oz bars. If what I think is coming, is actually coming, I can picture myself out in my workshop with a chisel and three lb. sledge chipping away.
Correct silver round are great
I only have a few duplicates
I like getting all different sorts of rounds
I know rounds are a good way to stack and I have a good share of them but I really love 10oz bars more
Sovereign Coins are where its at. Britannias are three deal right now
I see free shipping but do the bullion dealers charge sales tax on the rounds? Thanks
I bought blank ones that were reeded!
How much is a roll of silver rounds
I always prefer to include shipping cost and tax into my purchases, which is why I like eBay and trusted bullion dealers on there for deals and then I buy whatever’s cheapest at the time. Rounds or bars doesnt matter, just whatever has the cheapest premium total with all costs included
Hero Bullion has 2023 Cook Island Bounty and QEll Britannias just over $28 with a credit/debit card, just over $26 with check/wire/ACH any quantity and $4.99 shipping.
Bet I got mine! 😁
It’s May 31, 2023 and Monument Metals online has same price for Maples vs silver rounds.
Silver Britannia’s are the same price on Pimbex. 2 tubes of Buffalo rounds $1080. 40 Brit’s $1081
I believe Pinehurst Coins has one of the best deals on Buffalo's right now. 20 SMI rounds were $615 shipped when I was looking. Happy hunting!!!
I tried to order a tube and they don't ship to Minnesota. Wth?
I'll stick with coins.. But once I finish off a few more tubes I am considering stacking at least 100 oz of worth of buffaloes or something that catches my eye... but more than likely they will be the first thing I sell if I need to..
personally it seems like it would be best to buy Kilo bars financially due to premiums as well as rounds so you can use them as 'change' if you make a semi large purchase using silver for something.
I prefer stacking everything I can get my hands on. I've only been stacking for 6mon., but I've got over 100oz's already... not counting the 50 Morgan/Peace dollar's that belonged to my grandmother. She also left me 4- 1/2 oz. Gold Liberty's (1990, 92, 94, and 95). And 1- 1/4 oz. Gold Mount Rushmore. None of my Gold coins have been out of their plastic holders. If I could afford Gold, I would most certainly tweak out and load up... instead, I tweak out on 1oz. Rounds And Coins 😅
Buffalo looks like le happy merchant! hahahahaha
I like bars
I purchase my eagles at $1.50 over spot several years ago. As a coin collector I thought having a couple monster boxes wasa good investment.
is the silver eagle most recognizable
Golden Eagle Coin has even lower premiums. They take paper checks as well. No tax and free shipping on orders $99 or more.
