- I'm well-aware of working in color managed projects & grading in timeline and groups, but this video just shows the general flow of working nodes. And besides, I do grade breakdowns so having all the nodes in the clip level helps that process.

Thank you! Have been looking into a good node tree structure to follow a good workflow
You’re all the guidance I need ❤
Hopefully a tutorial of the color grading you are showing in that frame will come soon. That color grading in that scene looks amazing!
Please make a more video🔥I love to see more details about this. btw your workflow is amazing.
Thank you! Will do!
Would love to see your take on how to colour dark/night scenes and what tricks you do 👍
thanks for sharing this!it's very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Pls make more Videos bro! Love your Note Template im using it all the time!
Thanks for the love!
Hey Danny!
Love your work. Just bought your node tree V2. Very good! But i was sad to see the "arri tones" node wasn't included? Can you do a video on that specific node or include it in your node tree? I really wanted that one :)
Hi Simon, thanks for your support!
I'm dropping an update video this week for my powergrades. I'll consider including back in the arri tones node in a future update.
Excellent tutorial. Would you please do a video on your colour management workflow? What settings you use in the Colour Management section, and the how and why of it. It will be a great resource. Thank you.
sure! I'll look into thta, but you can have a look at Cullen Kelly's youtube channel if you don't mind going more in depth on color management
@@DannyGan I watched that series. If you're using the same workflow, then I guess I'm keyed in. Thanks!
Make a video on that, will be nice for the community for sure 🔥🔥🔥
Hello! Nicely organized tree! I have almost the same to start with. What do you think:
I apply the noise reduction to the first node (grain to the last) and after few hours of experiment the glow/halation before the log to rec cst creates me better looking, natural results. If I put after I found it to hars and fake. What do you think about that?
That's an interesting finding! I will do some experimenting and maybe an update video
can you explain why you seem to use only parallel nodes?
Sorry if I mistake, but I don't see a LUt, where do you out it, at what place?
2nd CST - how / where does it go back to Rec709 from that?
Are you referring to the kodak2383 emulation? The LUT will bring it back into a Rec709 colour space
Hey Danny, What is your color management settings for this color tree?
For Sony S-Log3 czcams.com/video/hFZDiXbFeJQ/video.html
Do you need the paid version of DaVinci Resolve in order to use the node template on your site? I'm really considering the purchase but I'm not really willing to pay the $300 for DaVinci resolve studio atm.
No you don't have to have the studio version, you can ignore the ofx nodes like film grain and halation. 👍🏻 Thanks in advance for your support!
awsome video, why you put Hight light node firts ?
I find preserving the highlights at the beginning more natural than putting it down in the node tree, might be because the dynamic range is at its widest
@@DannyGan hooooo okay, do you thinks can i do the same with shadow?
@@mraw_prime shadows are more forgiving, I usually address it in my "curves" node. You can check out my tutorial on Curves czcams.com/video/sHPohpnRR80/video.html
i just purchased this template but mine doesnt look like this the nodes are in a different order. I use braw im confused what setting i need for the cst in, cst out and the odt nodes. plz help
Have a look at this video for the updated version

i have no clue where to buy the node tree on your article
Its renamed to Visionary PowerGrades
Would it be ok to put a CST node before the Highlights node? I like working in Davinci Wide Gamut and then using a CST to switch back to Rec. 709 and Gamma 2.4 at the end. Let me know if this would mess with the highlights node or be fine!
Yes sure, you can refer to this video for a DWG workflow
czcams.com/video/sNliaFMPTBI/video.html
Thank you!
I've been speed running your videos lol. Certainly the best I've seen in terms of clarity when explaining workflow and creating a systematic node tree that is easy to follow along with.
I really appreciate the work you do!@@DannyGan
Also one last question!
I noticed your video regarding shift when transforming Slog3 into DWG.
Would the best course of action for a node tree be:
CST In:
S Gamut3.cine + SLog3 -> DWG + DV Intermediate
CST Out:
DWG + DV Intermediate -> S Gamut3.cine + S-Log3
Finally
ODT:
S Gamut3.Cine + S-Log3 -> Rec. 709 + Gamma 2.4
Also would the ODT be the last thing in your tree if you had a film LUT? Or would it come before.
in that case it seems the ODT may be:
Rec. 709 + Cineon Film Log -> Rec. 709 + Gamma 2.4
I know this is a longwinded question but I just want to make sure my colors are being displayed as accurate as possible !! haha @@DannyGan
Okay its abit tricky to answer this, you have the Sony to DWG transforms correct. But depending on how you want to insert the film LUT, there is 2 ways to do it. Either directly DWG to rec709/cineon then LUT. Or DWG to rec709/gamma2.4 then rec709/gamma2.4 to rec709/cineon then LUT. And compound the two nodes. I think you can find this in my node tree video. This way you can control the intensity of the LUT
You rock, I really appreciate you getting back to me on this!@@DannyGan
Can I use this node tree for slog2 ?
Yes, you can! Just set the CST to s.gamut3 and s-log2
free test footages link not working bro
It's working tho
