Tonight I'm playing in a two year long d&d campaign. Tonight is the last night, the end of what seems like an era. We are finishing the rise of Tiamat. The final battle. My character is the only one in the group who hasn't died, and playing the original character that I started out with from the very beginning. This song just captures the feeling and moments in the heat of battle.
An Omegle conversation with a boy my age, American, I think, introduced me to Mumford and Sons. It was a short but wonderful interaction, and I shall always be grateful to that person. Wherever you are, whoever you are, I hope you are happy and are doing well.
This isn't always a very "lovey dovey" band but this is the band that has gotten me through so much things in my life. All of the memories that I can piece together of my childhood have Mumford and sons somewhere in it. This is the that my brother and I breath and live on. No joke lol
This makes me think of two people forced into a journey of some sort, made to rely on one another and pacify their growing distaste and contempt for the other
lordoftheflytraps I agree. Just started a job with a colleague who is overly outgoing and me extremely silent.....We are tearing each others walls....we are two receptionists 1 desk.....
Mumford and Sons are amazing, a fan for the last 8 years, never gets old... One of the few bands where EVERY song is amazing. No bad songs, just better and better
Honestly, I've always had difficulty being emotionally open and connecting with others. I relate to this song as the subject: I imagine those I love must feel this way about myself. It reminds me to let down my "thistle and weeds".
Surprisingly, what I think of when I listen to this is Bluestar & Fireheart, during the times before her death when Bluestar had lost all her faith. Though it could truly fit any situation that's similar, and a variety of others.
"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6 Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”-Luke 8:5-8
Thank you.... They dont know what the song is about its actually a very specific verse in Hebrews 6:7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed.(O) In the end it will be burned.
This song makes me sad because it reminds me of my grandpa who went to war in WWll, Normandy. He never told anyone until the day I turned 9. He didn't exactly explained everything, but it was through a song. He picked up his guitar and played me this song of the war he battled through with his friends. He told me he was the last man standing, along with other few men. But all of his friends didn't make it, 2 of them he grew up with. It's really sad to think about it, especially for my grandpa. He went through alot of trauma, but he was always happy when I came around!
Most of the songs from this album (along with Babel) give off this strong vibe of melancholy. It reminds me of going to your home town which you remember fondly and instead of enjoying it you get bad memories you repressed.
I'm struggling a lot with scrupulosity, I just discovered this song, and it made me cry my eyes out. I don't know if it was the intent behind it or not, but for me, it's perfectly and hauntingly beautifully singing of the feeling of it. Of the dread and fear of having something that's supposed to comfort you be turned into something looming over you near constantly and clawing at your heart and mind like a rabid dog.
"It is not in the stars🌟 that hold our destiny, but within ourselves " "Just once, that's all it takes, and that's all you have." "You're not bored, you're brainstorming." "Life has it's moments, it's up to you to grasp them." "A life is a blessing, as well as a curse. Many hardships will happen, but it's up to you to keep your faith and understanding of the bigger picture." "Be free, because that's the only way you can." Some quotes to think about... "Knowledge is key, how many do you have on your belt?"
I literally was just scrolling across CZcams and found this song. Thought it was good. Then I found the Thistleclaw MAP. Strange, it's usually the other way around.
This song remind me so much of Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes that I just had to make a whole video about it, I'm obsessed with it, it's so fucking painful and raw. Probably one of the best Mumford and Sons songs out there.
Ah man, this brings back some memories. I would listen to this during a long break between my ex and I. Glad to be in a better place now, but this would make me cry and think about him so much. Still a great track
For some reason this song brings to mind a dark-haired man sitting in the shadows looking out a window with a harsh white light coming through onto his face then a woman brushes a few strands of hair back from his face.
This is nothing short of a masterpiece. I love to just sit and listen to deep music with good instrumentals/beats and amazing vocals. Not just hearing them, but truly listening. Taking in the music, the lyrics and feel the emotions that are expressed from songs like this. I wish there was more music like this. If anyone has any recommendations, please comment them
Perfect for the covid-19 pandemic and how people are behaving during this time. "The Water Creeps To My Chest" can describe the pneumonia due to covid-19.
I'm not gonna lie, this is the first time hearing this piece, and Broken Crown. I was moved to say the least.i don't know I missed them, I was deprived that experience until now
I think people dislike music videos because pretty much everyone does the wrong lyrics for songs and that irritates people. It's not because they don't like the song because then they would comment "I hate this song!" Or "I don't like this song!" Etc
Elise Tanis step1 be mumford and sons. just be Mumford and sons and make a song. step 2 release the song and the song is so good that it becomes loved by all.
This song reminds me of a very difficult situation I'm currently in, in which I'm being targeted by my narcissistic ex. She left me in a dark place every so often when I still trusted her, and then came back when she needed to supply with my "support". But even though she's still trying to break me down I hold onto my hope. I pray for her in humility to help herself.
I found this song when I went camping and in the lot next to us they were blasting this song and I'm thinking "holy cow this is a great song, I gotta find out what this is."
Did not know that but wow, I knew there were some Biblical references (dead burying the dead, planting hopes with good seeds as in the parable of the farmer, etc), but that actually makes a ton of sense

Godspeed, son.
Did you win
Im invested, please tell me how you guys fought! Did you survive?? Please tell me you won!
We need answers!
This is amazing
This might just be their best song along with Broken Crown
Agreed, though I also like Dust Bowl Dance and Lover of the Light just as much.
Yesssss
YES.
The cave is the best by far
Little lion man is good too, but I like this one best
This song makes me think of a person slowly and painfully being turned into a monster and mourning their loss of humanity and lucidity.
@Nothing in Particular she wasn't talking about you. But uh, you okay?
@Nothing in Particular oh nice another one of us
@@moomooshico2178 what went down here?
@@jimmyadrian8918 Yes, not a single person cares.
Bloody Sunday
An Omegle conversation with a boy my age, American, I think, introduced me to Mumford and Sons. It was a short but wonderful interaction, and I shall always be grateful to that person. Wherever you are, whoever you are, I hope you are happy and are doing well.
as creepy as omegle could get, i revere the connections i made on it. i'm glad you had that, too
“I know you’ve felt more love than you’ve shown”
My relationship with my ex to a tee
"I begged you to hear me I'm more than flesh and bones " my whole life literally
Damn, sorry. You absolutely deserve more love.
♡♡♡
You okay?
Right
same darling❤😢

The sentence "isn't always very lovey dovey" does not need a but afterwards. The fact they aren't lovey dovey is fresh
This makes me think of two people forced into a journey of some sort, made to rely on one another and pacify their growing distaste and contempt for the other
Sandor Clegane and Arya Stark.

This song seems to very well describe what it's like to have depression and anxiety.
at least that's how it makes me feel
Agreed!
+Ace As Space Sums it up metaphorically like that
Ace As Space yes!
Ace As Space *_same_*
Ace As Space I don't believe depression because I think they are just trying to get out of work

I was today’s years old when I discovered Mumford and Sons. My new favorite.

Currently, this song is giving me vibes for Multiverse of Madness. Both melancholy and eerie at the same time.

This band is fascinating to me see I only like a few songs of other bands but this band I love every song it's really interesting to me.

I'm curious, who gave this video a dislike?
I think people dislike music videos because pretty much everyone does the wrong lyrics for songs and that irritates people. It's not because they don't like the song because then they would comment "I hate this song!" Or "I don't like this song!" Etc
+Nathaniel Levesque Weeds, that's what.
+Ash Star Productions True, true.
well, maybe there really are people that don't the song... I mean, we're 7 billion on this planet, how can you make a song that is loved by all?
Elise Tanis
step1
be mumford and sons. just be Mumford and sons and make a song.
step 2
release the song and the song is so good that it becomes loved by all.
this song has the perfect cadence of a big horse galloping on the beach in slow motion. I will hold on...

This sounds like O' Death from Until Dawn
I

Well, there's only one good thing that came out of the music listening exam I just took, and it's that I discovered this song.
wow. wowowowowow.
Me anticipating season 7 Game of Thrones, and just listening to this while I wait.
This song actually works really good for the Chaos Walking trilogy.
Really?
I would love to see a contemporary interpretative dance to this song.
Say one or the other copycat
Say one or the other copycat
As a matter of fact, one of the contemporary classes at my dance studio did a dance to this and it is SO COOL in fact it’s how I found this song
3 years ago I listened to this for the first time in a Taco Bell
Grey's Anatomy season 7 episode 1 has 24 seconds of this song...
The greatest band ever
This reminds of search and rescue. The lost individual hoping for the Godsend of a first responder.
I found this song when I went camping and in the lot next to us they were blasting this song and I'm thinking "holy cow this is a great song, I gotta find out what this is."
How many people still listening in 2021 👌🏾🥰

Is it? Damn.
