It’s because there was a market for him; he’s an elite team player, sounds funny I know…but that’s why less skilled players last 10-20 years in the league than most of the “top talent” in drafts that are gone 3-5 years later

Those picks are projected to be in the 20-30 range. That’s why they stockpile them, plus we still have 3 picks this draft to trade or move up . They gave up an older player ( Bojan ) for a 2 way wing who can play 2/3 and the 4 depending on the matchup and can defend. The got better and younger ( no players over 29 on the roster ) with 1 trade is a good option for a team that could possibly get to the conference finals without giving away young rotation pieces.

Difference is, knicks can afford to trade that many picks. Before the trade, they had the second most first round picks behind OKC. Not to mention, they can always move Randle for 2 firsts so it’s not as bad as it looks.

It’s not too much when you factor in the Knicks current trajectory. They’d been sitting on those picks for some time. Going with a smart plug in guy who compliments their play style over star chasing is very smart. They manage to retain OG and they’re comfortably the second best team in the East.
The 5 1st rd picks are all end of the day picks. We're going to keep winning the next 5 years. Just watch.

Brunson, Donte, Hart, OG, Bridges, Randle, Mcbride, Mitch Rob. Only team I see competing with that currently in the east is Boston. Those picks aren’t gonna matter much if the Knicks have the success they’re expecting to.

He won in college and he’s had decent success so far in the pros. Give me finals experience over 0 experience even if it’s just one series. Yo, this is an absolute nightmare for me, as a diehard Sixers fan. I was hoping that there would be some kind of way Sixers could’ve pulled a rabbit out of the hat and brought him here to Philly . Especially being that we missed out on Alex Caruso. Mikal would’ve been a perfect fit for us, a need filler, especially when Embiid isn’t on the floor. He’s a young energetic rebounding wing who can score and defend and doesn’t need to have the ball, to be effective. He’s also not injury prone. Mikal in NY with Bronson and other ex Villanova teammates is going to be an absolute nightmare for thee entire NBA! Hey listen, I’m not a hater. I’m happy for NY. I love Jalen Bronson and Mikal, and can’t wait to see what kind of toughness they bring to NY for years to come. I can already see them in next years finals.
