- For me, art is where exploration meets expression. I am always exploring new elements to add to my current work so I can see how to expand it further. This painting, Alight, was a commission and this video will take you through the commission process as well as the process of trying new things and adjusting them to work with your current process and style.

OMG...so incredibly beautiful, I love how you just keep on layering and mixing those beautiful colors...I myself, just started in this creative world, I've never done any kind of art of any kind, one of my sisters is so gifted as an artist and painter, me not so much , but oh, don't I have fun with this and to think I have the Covid pandemic to thank for it...I started out paper crafting and making all kinds of things, cards, albums and other things, but what I really love doing is mixed media art, I am not very good at it but I sure do love it...I love how you can use all of kind of things with this type of art...I am so happy I came across your channel, thank you so much for sharing and for all your inspiration...looking forward to watching more of your videos ❣️🤗
I love mixed media for the same reason!! And I think doing it because you’re having fun and you love it is the best way to stick with it and keep improving and developing something that is your own. It always starts with that feeling of not being good at it, in my personal experience. Thanks for watching!
I love your work and your process. I have been in a dry spell until just a few hours ago when I took a bunch of tissue paper and started making marks much as you have done. Love the results. I have to fight the desire to be precise and doing the mark making for no purpose is so helpful! Thank you

I’m wondering, doesn’t tissue paper fade pretty quickly. I use it in my journal but only acrylic and archival for paintings.
I can’t say for sure, but I always put a generous layer of archival varnish over top for protection.
Can you tell us what color the paint is that you painted around the red roses in the bottom left corner? Dark teal?
That is Amsterdam Acrylic Greenish Blue color mixed with some black. It’s one of my favorite colors for dark areas in my paintings! Here’s a link amzn.to/3VOWFp2. That fear of doing something wrong is sooooo common-I know exactly where you are. It can be paralyzing creatively. I hope you do experiment because that’s the best things for it. I usually buy mine from Amazon. Here are the links to tissue paper and also the mulberry paper is use a lot:
