It's not acceptable to not send the referee to the screen because he's your mate and has had a hard game. I think for Mike Dean with this one interview has harmed referees in English football more than any incorrect VAR call has. We now know that referees are making personal decisions based on loyalty to their friends to not go over and use the technology that was brought in to make them make decisions easier.
If they have this kind of bias, who's to say they don't have a bias in team they want to win a particular game. Its nothing short of a disgrace. Mic up the referees, mic up the VAR assistants and let us hear the decision making process throughout the 90 min game as and when they are making them. I refuse to trust or accept any more wrong decisions from these people unless thats the case

@@marshjj3788 football is no different with VAR. VAR highlights the fact that the PGMOL as a group/organisation take it upon themselves to make decision based on personal bias to influence games.
Without VAR we wouldn’t have a ref in the clip above admitting to deliberately influencing a game and not following the protocols and rules he is trained to. These refs manage games that can be worth 100s of millions to the clubs involved. They need to be assessed, moderated and if they are not fit for purpose sacked. Put a microphone and a camera in the VAR room and a mic on the on pitch ref so everyone has total transparency on what they are doing as they do it. There’s no reason for that not to happen other than to allow them to continue as they have been.

Every time where someone is through on goal and it’s anywhere near close to offside, one team is going to hate you and not forgive you for the rest of the game. A referee's job should literally be to be in control of the game, let it flow, and take the focus away from himself. This man did the exact opposite. The fact that he was one of the 'top' refs in the Prem for so long is indicative of how poor the refereeing standards our in this country.

Question for you. What is the definition of “passing the ball” ? Because the final video image of the players positions is only the end of a process that begins with “the pass”. What measurement of that is there ? It’s like a 100 metre athletic race. The runnners can start when they like but the winner is the first across the line. The timing of the pass is ignored and only the final positions of the players is highlighted. Officials at the game very often see and hear the contact on the ball. What measurement is used for VAR ?

The sickening confirmation of the lack of character; lack of will; and, worst; LACK OF PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY behind so many VAR non-decisions...
The confession I would most like to hear is from the VAR officials at the Everton V Liverpool game from 3 years ago when Pickford committed GBH on Virgil Van Dijk, doing a wrestling body-slam with his whole bodyweight on the guy's upper thigh, smashing his knee. No review for dangerous play despite scream accompanied by un-natural body-movement indicating serious injury as that would have meant sending off England's goal-keeper.

On Mourinho: the decisions against Roma in the final were absolutely baffling. The behaviour of Romans after the final may not have been good, but considering the team were treated wrongly over and over again during the season. The final of the Europa league was the cherry on top. A handball at 1-1 around the 80th minute not given. Speaking about Mourinho’s gameplan saying he messed it up conceding a 1-1 is not what refs should speak about. They need to step up in certain moments to make the game fair. That’s what we need, because as Mister Dean says himself, Mourinho shakes everybody’s hands after any game he had with him. Just do your job and all is well
