I see where you're coming from. Really hate the volume bump for commercials, but not much from a tinnitus suffering point of view! I've never considered these issues to be honest, you have a good point here but I'm not sure it would be super easy to implement all across.

Not ridiculous at all Jack, you’ve absolutely nailed it! It could easily be made switchable, so as only those who want it need to turn it on.
If a programme is particularly noisy I tend to turn the volume down and put the subtitles on 🙂.

I really miss the cinema, it's so so loud nowadays

That would be nice… the sounds of “tinnitus” they play in movies after an explosion are absolutely ridiculous and ramp mine up every time. In the US here we have warnings if there is smoking in a show… how about warnings if there is simulated tinnitus! lol

Oh ! I so agree ! No you are not being ridiculous . They give a warning for flashing lights so why not for sudden loud noise . And those constant "beeps" when my husband is watching American Football ..ugh !

Or atleast dont boost the "MAX volume" on all commercials. Here in Sweden there is like a 10 DB boost every time the commercial goes on every 15 minutes. Your looking at some chill documentary and the "TRY THE NEW POPTARTS!" screaming from the speakers from nowhere.
Also agree with the swearword beeping, annoying as HELL and really annoys my TT, cant watch programs like that for longer periods of time.

Yes that’s a good point . Commercials are always louder and again , no concern for people with hearing sensitivity. That’s a good point and might investigate that for a video . Be interesting to see how different countries deal with that . Here in Norway there is definitely a volume bump. Thanks 👍

@@thetinnituschannel People have sadly no idea what hearing sensitivity goes thru. I have litterally been down to hell and back. The good thing tho is that hearing sensitivity (generally) gets better with time if you are careful around loud sounds. Thanks for your videos, its nice to have someone sharing tips and their journey :)

Very interesting 🤔 creating a loudness standard for people with hearing sensitivity, tinnitus etc…. I can’t see broadcasters investing the time and money into trying to do that but it would be fantastic.
Although should be possible but there are a lot of variables when it comes to what’s too loud/too quiet. Everybody’s hearing threshold will be different when it comes to loudness and triggers.
The perception of human hearing or psychoacoustics shows that we are extremely sensitive to mid range frequencies. The spectrum varies for everybody but it’s usually. 2-5k Carving out, resonating frequencies that cause sensitivity, lowering their amplitude. Suppressing them with eq/multi-band dynamics and limiting them possibly.
It definitely won’t be perfect, everyone will be different, but if we could create a standard that we can lower amplitude suppress/lower specific frequencies that cause hearing sensitivity it’s a good starting point.
The only problem is, how does that translate to into a good listening experience for everyone?
I’m definitely missing a lot here but this is already long enough lol 👍🙏
    Thanks Jack.

Good info here thank you . I do think this is a conversation that could really open up to different solutions for people with hearing sensitivity. Maybe a an option baked into tvs? Think it definitely has to be considered. Thanks
