Cheap rc's have their own unique "fun factor". It's like you are always on edge and overly impressed when it defies damage and climbs better than expected!
I read your comment and automatically assumed the cheap one in this video would defy damage.

@@dudebremnajs the staircase roll/crash probably cracked the arm, then it basically just fell apart when he went over the ramp badly.
I've jumped the crap out of my 10428 on the stock suspension arms, and it goes a good bit faster than stock. Unfortunately the stock ESC doesn't play nice with a 17T motor and a big pinion. Had great speed (a bit under 25mph on pavement), but I blew the forward-drive mosfets doing a wheelie. Reverse and steering still worked, so I should be able to either upgrade the components on the ESC to run on 3s, or at least snag the signal off the board and feed it into a normal ESC.
@@dudebremnajs Same as Phateracing, I too have a WL toys 10428. Blew the driveshaft from a locked up tire, after upgrading to a Castle 2800 kv 1415Y brushless. Too much torque, it's a 10th scale motor with 8th scale power. Broke every rotating piece on the truck. Many 100 foot jumps under the thing, still on the original arms. If i hadn't gone with that motor, probably wouldn't be running as many Integy parts as I am now. Get one, you won't be sorry!
@@phateracing Castle MambaX with Castle 1415Y= 4S's of death! Gets up to at least 50 maybe 55 mph, shift into low, and crawl pretty much anywhere. Are you in the WLtoys group on Facebook?

Haven't gotten to touch my 10428 since I pulled it apart, but I'm probably going to just throw a cheapie 60A brushless setup in the car. Should be more than enough to make it go 35-40mph on 3s.
I actually don't want this thing to be much faster than that, I plan to pick up a live axle trophy truck to do more high speed stuff (either a 12423, or just spend the money on a Yeti Score or Rock Rey).

something that has made a good obstacle for me is, When you first had that 9ft ramp set up. Instead of lowering it, Take a staple gun and add some staples every inch or so. It makes for awesome grip but try and find the brink between rolling backwards and staying all 4 or 3 wheels on the wood. Makes for finding the throttle sweet spot difficult yet fun.

I have that same cheap truck and its been very reliable for me. Even survived a 6 foot drop from a rock onto a rock. Sometimes you just hit it at that one angle and bamm! Anything will break. Nice vid btw!

A small metal strip or a ruler little drilling and it should hold. Definitely use hot glue aswell for extra hold

I have the Exact same Wltoys but I’ve modded mine with Traxxas Xl-5 ESC and a Good Motor and Traxxas Receiver and I’ve shaved the Body to Fit Modded 1.9” TRX4 Tires I have videos on my Channel and the thing is AWESOME!!!
