"An ka taa" (www.ankataa.com) is an initiative to offer modern educational media, resources and lessons for current and emergent speakers of Manding-commonly referred to as Bambara, Dioula, Malinké or Mandingo-so there are no barriers to learning or using one of Africa’s most important languages.

You are doing an amazing job. I’m going to use your videos to teach Bambara to my son. Thank you so much. God bless.
Thanks so much, Moussa! It makes me really happy to think that the videos might help you and your son! Keep me posted on how it goes :-)
👍🏼 Keep up the great content!!
Side note: I hope something good comes of the meeting 😭

Wow! Thanks for the kind words, GG02Echo. Not sure that a wretch like me deserves them, but they are much appreciated and very encouraging!
Your job will be a great help for rebuilding Bambara one day.
keep on going. An ka taa!!
Thanks for the encouragement, Smartphone! I hope that Bambara never needs to be "rebuilt", but I do hope the videos can be a helpful resource over time!
Bravo. Bonne traduction
Initché merci
Nba! I ni ce :-)

Wow You know My Language More than I do. I can't even read my own language but when I see you reading it looks like a person who was born in a Mandinka family I really love it
Wow! Thanks for the kind words, MKD, but I'm still just a student of the language! I'm sure that I could learn a lot from you :-)

I would like to know how to get this keyboard.
Please could you help?

Hey, great video, as usual.
Quick question : are you fully fluent ?
Do you sometimes read an article from Rfi mandenkan and don't understand it all ? Happens to me a lot 😅
Thanks, Honey Sun! I consider myself functionally fluent, but I still have so much that I could improve! There's a double standard when it comes to African languages -- people give me way too much credit. If I were speaking French then people would be like "Meh" (as in, "Yeah, he speaks, but nothing to write home about"). I do pretty good with RFI Mandenkan articles since I have been reading them for a while, but a lot of times it is a register that isn't very typical for speaking in everyday life.
How did you learn or come to speak the language? Hope some of my videos can help with the RFI Mandenkan stuff!
Hello. Congratulations for your work.
Could you advise me a good website or any other place where I can learn the nko writing?
Just to say, I'm level 0.
I made a video on how to write the letters:

@@Ankataa thank you. I'll watch carefully
Thanks so much for this video! Our non-profit organization, Universal Human Rights Institute, works in partnership with the United Nations (OHCHR & DPI) on a global human rights education project to record native speakers reading the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in all 500+ translated languages. Would you be interested in recording the UDHR in Bambara?
I ni ce, Lydia! You commented the same thing on another video. I responded to you there ;-)
