@@JohnGotti-yx6gcinternal detonation is not good for a cylinder and can cause major damage. There are ways to delete it but it would involve changing tunes and some other fuel/air issues
I thought my egr was going bad but i have gas crystallized in my intake manifold cleaned out an still idling weird at a loss my other vehicles gave out so im stuck tryna figure it out so i have a vehicle

I was working on a 1995 Tahoe and said the wrong year. I can go back and edit but the rest is relevant and accurate to testing so I left it the way it was.

I have an 1989 tbi 350 . I get a service engine soon light but only on the high way and then goes away once I turn it off and on . Did the paper clip trick and got and egr code . Looks like I’m changing the egr valve
Amen. Recent purchase 1989 K1500 5.7 pings under load. Found knock sensor unplugged. Plugged in, no change. Timing is okay. EGR valve tests good and passages at the valve okay. Decide to change intake manifold gasket because it is original, so past time. Discover the EGR passages where manifold goes into engine absolutely carboned shut. We are talking coal mine shut. Hopefully this cures the ping.
@@enermaxstephens1051 Egr valves force hot air into the engine (less power). For example nitrous makes an engine have more power because its a very COLD gas. Hot gases make it so that less air and fuel can go in the cylinder.

Except when you block off the egr the engine will PING.

The line coming from the egr valve plugs into which fitting top or bottom
it should be the bottom. easily find out by finding the port that bleeds off when not energized

TBI on a 2000 Tahoe? I thought the last year of the TBI was 1995. My 1996 has the spider type. I maybe wrong

Make sure the passages are not clogged up.

i have put 2 new egr valves on and alot other parts, it still wont run right with it connected..
When you say won’t run right do you mean it won’t idle well? Or some other symptom
@@robfaith9999 engine has low idle, hesitation when pressing gas, sputtering.
Have you checked if the EGR has vacuum at idle
