- A beautiful route upto the 'secret' Warnscale bothy and then across to the bigger Dubs Hut bothy. There are beautiful waterfalls along the way including the Buttermere infinity pool, see if you can spot it.
If you wanted an easier more direct route upto just the Dubs Hut bothy, you can take the main path to the left of the bridge before the incline and follow it straight up. You will miss out on seeing the Warnscale bothy this way but I understand what its like when carrying heavy kit, you sometimes just want to get there.
The best place to park is the car park at Gatesgarth Farm, it is £4 for a 24 hour period so if you wanted to camp out it is perfect for this too. Enjoy.
It shows what a great community of hikers and campers we have when you can just leave all your treasured kit unattended in the middle of nowhere. Thanks another great video 🙏🍻
Yes I loved that too.. even a homemade quiche was chilling on top of the fire for their dinner .. 🥰
Fabuleux
Absolutely stunning place and beautiful weather! Perfect way to walk around and explore friend! ☺️🎞️
I got so lucky this day.. the rest of my trip was very soggy but that didn’t matter.. still enjoyed it 😁
Watching your videos, I really get desperate of hiking in the Lakes again! Greetings from Germany! 😊☀️🍀
Greetings friend. Ahhh well maybe one day you will return 😁
Been passed it and called in numerous times from Fleetwith Pike on the way to Haystacks but never fancied overnighting it it to be honest. That was some weather for the time of the year, shame the rest of the week was not as good but good to see you made the most of it. Dubs Hut is so well camouflaged with the rest of the slate and almost easy enough to walk past and that view over Buttermere from the is jaw dropping! Cheers Alan
No me neither.. and there’s no phone signal in either of the bothys either.. I like to have that especially when I’m on my own .. but a lovely stop off especially if the weather isn’t on your side 😁
Beautiful views up there Char. Thanks for sharing. Oyster one better? They were very trusting.
Very trusting! I love that 😁 ermmm they’re both very different.. better views from the wharnscale.. but dubs hut is much bigger .. would have to try both to make your mind up I think 😄
Looks like a wicked little place to camp up 👌
Both look delightful don’t they ☺️☺️
The view is very nice and if you stop the video at the right moment, you can see how well the refuge adapts perfectly to the environment. A good "camouflage". The view from the cottage is very nice, you can see the lake well. Thanks for sharing the video 👍🏻 and the new impressions from the Lake District 😊 We understand your love for the Lakes. Kind regards Gerold & Ilse 🤗
Very camouflaged.. I love how well it is hidden 😁 a stunning view from the bothy 😍
Just got back from the lake District myself. Me and my boy did Scafell Pike 💥🙏 looking forward to coming back up there as if so much more to do 👌
Ahhh nice.. hope you had fun. I’ve only done that once, and in the dark so I’m sure you had much more fun than me. Yes there is so much to see up here! 😁
Another great video and in my neck of the woods for a change love the lakes keep up the great work ❤

Thanks for showing us the route to the bothy. It doesnt seem to look straightforward in places and quite patchy. I did the left hand path when doing Haystacks but didnt know about the bothy at the time. That must get very busy in the summer months. Fab video 👌
Thankyou so much. Yes I think it does.. although I see more people staying at wharnscale than dubs hut.. im not really sure why, maybe the view 😃
You would certainly be grateful of those bothy's if the weather suddenly turned, do you follow any signs on this trail, looks difficult to follow but well worth the visit, lovely vid 😊 thanks 👍
No.. but if you stick with the main path up from the car park you will come to dubs hut.. look across the water and you’ll almost see the other one 😁
Looks ace, what do you prefer the Peak or Lake District?
Peak District is home so I know it much better, but I would love to see more of the lakes as it is beautiful!!!
😄
