Best Restaurant For An Andhra Meal In Bangalore. Andhra Restaurants In Bangalore. Andhra Style Biryani. Andhra Meals.
A popular name when it comes to Andhra cuisine in Bengaluru is Bheema's, an iconic restaurant located in the heart of CBD, at Church Street. Although the street has witnessed a resurgence over the years, this over 20-year-old establishment has stood still, turning into a favourite spot for lunch, when in the area.
The simple yet satisfying vegetarian Andhra meal served on a plantain leaf and the Nellore-style Biryani is what patrons usually flock to the restaurant for, not forgetting their signature side, the Bheema's Chicken!
In this episode of Gourmet On The Road, Food Lovers' Editor, Kripal Amanna visits the restaurant after a decade to revive memories of a meal here. He meets with second generation owner, Vijaykumar and explores the kitchen. He discover the evolution in the method of cooking traditional Andhra fare Bheema's has adopted and also visits the restaurants' nursery!
He then sits down to indulge in the vegetarian meals with oodles of ghee and gongura chutney, moving on to taste the Mutton Biryani and some delicious meaty sides.
GOURMET ON THE ROAD RATING
VEG MEALS
a popular lunch choice at bheema’s, the veg meal comprises of a pappu, a vegetable of the day, sambar, rasam, perugu, buttermilk and dessert, usually a payasam. my top picks were the deliciously creamy spinach pappu, the flavourful sambar. the moolangi chutney was not as vibrant or vivacious as the gongura chutney. don’t forget to top your piping hot rice with ghee and the signature podi before you work your way through the dishes!

8.5/10
CHILLI CHICKEN
although this chilli chicken has an incredible amount of chilli seeds, it doesn’t hit you right away when you first taste it. but as you devour the dish, the green chilli spice makes its presence felt on the palate. the chicken is moist and juicy. eat this dish with rice and oodles of ghee to help tame the chilli aggression.
rs 260. (3.65 usd)
8.5/10
BHEEMA'S CHICKEN
this fried chicken preparation is a bheema’s signature. the chicken is coated and fried in a light batter and tossed in a masala which makes liberal use of green chilli and curry leaves. this fried chicken is cooked perfectly, crunchy and dry outside yet soft and juicy within. the curry leaves lends a toasty, herbaceous note to the dish.
rs 270. (3.80 usd)
9/10
MUTTON BIRYANI
this biryani is gentle in its aromas, not a biryani you can smell from a mile away. the rice is cooked in the flavourful mutton broth that has given up all its meaty flavour to the supremely flavoursome rice. you can also taste the whole spices like cloves, cinnamon and star anise. the meat is cooked to a juicy, tender pink.
rs 285. (4 usd)
8.5/10
MUTTON PEPPER FRY
the meat is the star in this mutton pepper fry. it is slow cooked and braised for hours resulting in that tender, melt-in-the-mouth texture. the flesh is pink all the way through and the fat too has rendered well. the pepper does not obliterate the flavour of the mutton. the curry leaves provide a nice respite in between tasting. the flavour of the meat and spices have come together beautifully in this dish!

We eat food by earning money but you are the person who earns money by eating
Not exactly but you should check "furious pete" for just eating and earning
Honestly, with the current subscriber count, he may not be making much. He is probably spending from his own pocket. But let's wish him more subs
Its about how you eat bro....
Anyway i love his vedios 😍 what a presentation!!
Mr Clive doesn't seem to know the goodness of Clove and several other spices and food and how its consumed. For a sadist, there are other channels, go get entertained there. No hate with food.
this man uses perfect Telugu words of all dishes like pappula podi, pappu, neyyi, mullangi chutney,perugu.....final ga gupthayasam tho bayatiki vastham.... telugu vantakalu thinte....Adbutham....Amogam.....
🙏🙂
you should visit visaknapatnam, trivandrum, Shillong, agartala, and Leh/Srinigar, or at least try their respective cuisines.
That would be very neat if you could!
That’s why we call Gongura as “Andhra Matha” means mother Andhra 😍😍😍😍
Yes
All of your food vlogs are my favourites💖
Enjoyed watching authentic Indian food being served and educated on how it is to be eaten and enjoyed WELLDONE!!!!!! from SA
I like how you mix the foods and then describe the taste. Thats the whole point of the Thali... Keep up the quality and attention to detail, just like how you like your food!
Now i understand why you have a perception that andhra food is fiery in spice levels😂. May be bengaluru ppl from rayalaseema and nellore.
I am a Bong born and brought up in Delhi married to a Kolkatan and working in Chennai for the past 5 years and have eaten Andhra food more than anything and I can safely say that I can give my life to have Andhra food for the rest of my life..
Tamil food is actually way better than Andhra food. Try it when you can
@@vignesh1065 No food can beat Andhra food indeed😊

Hi Sir, your videos r great and nice to know so many restaurants and their speciality. The way you express the dishes is outstanding. Keep it up😊
Beautifully narrated, my husband’s fav eating joint. As a pure veg, i would hesitate to eat the veg spread. Now when i see that even the spices don’t touch, i will have a go next time we come to India, food capital par excellence!
I particularly love the way you present the food and enjoy eating with love! This makes me not to worry about the weight but enjoy eating🙏
Just the word nellore and you know the food is going to be damn spicy and flavoursome.... our meat and meals are on point !!
What about in Chennai for Andhra spl pure veg.
When I went to Mysore for a trip there every restaurant has items called Nati chicken, Nati mutton curry first I didn't understand I thought they were special dishes from Karnataka, later I was realized Nati means Natu in Rayalaseema, they mixed it with kannada food, I love kannada food and hospitality they are very nice and humble people.
Kripal we really enjoy your way of explaining the dishes and way you present them and your expressions are awesome
Andhra Pradesh food is anyone can eat healthy and happy..in India 😋😋😋

Best Indian food review on youtube.
This man is eating just the way a South Indian meal should be relished. He knows the art of eating South Indian food.
What a joke, he is a rooted South Indian. Does a baby fish need training in swimming?
He is from south canara - coastal Karnataka ....what else you expect !!!
Wow amazing vlog...all Ur vlogs are super.your selection of restaurants are so good..we r also enjoying the food..tasting n eating is so beautiful..so tempting..thank u sir..😀😀😍😍👍👍👌👌❤️❤️
The talent of identifying the ingredients just by the smell is by one and only kripal!
Excellent work sir !!

Sir the switching between the meaty and veggy renders it exOtic🔥👍
Kripal, very gud video..
Please review Nandhini (jaya nagar) restaurant.. feels nostalgic when we think about it.. we use to go there almost every fortnight when we were in bangalore 10 yrs back..
nice & tempting video ✌️
I just miss the veg andhra meals near my office.
It was an accident where our team went for lunch & everyone ordered chicken biriyani etc while our veg team mate ordered andhra meals. South meals we have daily at home but The way the food was Served in a plate with leaf ,we cancelled the non veg and ordered andhra meals. Seriously the taste and varities of curries and the rice and pudi with ghee.. we started having every noon even though it was 93rs per meals.hmm i just miss it..
Being an andhrite i found best andhra meals at nagarjuna and RRR mysore.
Gun powder and ghee(popular with my north indian friends too) isnt a real andhra style except for vysya community.i tried ghee and avakaya in subbaiah gari hotel hyderabad and understood the real taste. That was the real starter..
Just subscribed. The way you articulate and vocabulary used to describe the experience is second to none. Wish you all the best!!
🙏 Thank you, Achit.
I like your presentation skills also the camera man has good camera skills, is this with a gimbal or hand held?
Mouth watering 😍
I am surprised a channel as good as this, which so professionally run has less than 200k subscribers. I follow all vegetarian outings on this channel and must say this one is very well presented!
Thank you, Balaji.
I love the way of ur eating style and u enjoyed the every bit while u eating .foods lovers mean who enjoyed their food. That's u and me sir

You r enjoying your life to full extent,
Need to try the Bheema's chicken after seeing your episode, although I frequent Bheema's for Andhra style full meals.
Just watching Kripal Ji go about his business and listening to him talk, is totally de stressing.. !!!
Another as usual well crafted video.. and all videos are different.. best part about it.. lays emphasis on history of the place and then kitchen environment and then my fav part .. tasting the food.. keep up the good work .. cheers.
Excellent narration.Decent videography. The only constrain is not mentioning about prices of key items which will be more helpful to us.
so watery in my mouth
That narration is delicious to ears
Super explanation sir
Believe it or not Kripal, while watching this superb video, I was sweating profusely - so just imagine my condition if I were to eat at their restaurant!. I went a few years ago and the food was excellent (though I do not recollect what I ate there!) - After watching this episode, I intend to visit again and try their mutton pepper fry. Thanks for this wonderful video.
Nala was an great cook . The story comes in nala danayanthi . Nalapaka is an ultimate tribute to an great meal.
I had lunch last December in bheemas . Feels like a lifetime ago.
Surprised that they grow their own vegetables giving organic food a new meaning. And making spices with traditional flour mill is so refreshing. And cooking with precision using oven makes it so beautiful. Seems like a lifetime ago I had visited this place. Great memories 👌
Nala damayanthi
First time I saw him so much excited....
Superb
Even after watching with full stomach I'm again feeling hungry

Sir ur eating style and expression is good
I am extremely happy ,way of explanation in simple English rather than 😋 of food. I think this Chanel is enough for learning English and how to coordinate.
It's awesome
Specially when you explain while eating
Nice video, traditional way with moderate style cooking 🥘. Your videos are so nice, All the best of your work.
Awww .... Everytime when I see my Andhra dishes .... My Telugu Flavours. I feel that I am missing my home and my mom dishes .... Kripal sir !! Enjoy telugu dishes more and give a visit to Vizag City and try more Seafood dishes there.
