Best Seafood Dishes In Bengaluru, Coastal Restaurant At The Gateway Hotel Bengaluru, Top Rated Seafood Dishes at Karavalli. Aquafest
In nearly three decades of its existence, Karavalli at The Gateway Hotel Bengaluru has distinguished itself as an establishment that serves the country's finest South West Coastal cuisine. This has made the speciality fine dining restaurant an absolute must-visit in the city with patrons highly recommending a meal here.
What patrons also await is a much loved, annual seafood festival that the restaurant has been hosting since its existence.
In this episode of Gourmet On The Road, Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna visits Karavalli to savour all the dishes on offer as part of this very special Aquafest menu. He meets with Executive Chef of The Gateway Hotel, Naren Thimmaiah to understand what makes this festival as popular. He then sits down to enjoy a whopping 14-dish meal.

GOAN OCTOPUS CHILLI FRY

KOONDAL PORICHATU
the batter-fried masala coated squid is cooked to springy perfection and the masala has penetrated all the way through. the fresh acidity of a squeeze of lime cradles that gentle spicing of the squid. this is the sort of dish that would make for a very happy bar snack.

9/10
WHOLE SILVER POMFRET RECHEADO
this dish of whole fried silver pomfret is a taste of goa! liberally coated in the sweet, tart and hot goan recheado masala, both inside and out, you taste notes of the goan palm vinegar and the aggressive punch of chilli as you devour the dish.

SEA CRAB GHEE ROAST
these meaty sea crabs, cooked in a ghee roast masala are divine! i love the mild sweetness of that crab meat (tastes just like the ocean!). the butteriness of that well rounded masala embraces the natural flavours of the crab.

DODOL
my favourite way to end a meal at karavalli is with the dodol, a goan dessert made with rice flour that has been well roasted with palm jaggery and loads of butter! it is rich and dark, each bite is lush, buttery yet dry.

Kept it going ! 👍
Really this is worthless
I think u spend 1lakh for one meal...
Do they have finance or EMI options 🤪
Rajesh Telang LoL 😂
Hahaha😁
Yes...it's called work that extra overtime to afford this meal LOL! I would.
Hey it was joke
😆😆
That was literally 42 minutes of Food Romance... just loved it.😁
I am so obsessed with seafood I search for seafood videos and binge watch them. I must say this one is THE BEST SEAFOOD VIDEO on CZcams!! That of course implies your great production quality & excellent presentation. Very refreshing to watch. Love from Bangladesh.
Most lucky person on Earth & that's one & only Kripal ❤️
No dish is below 1k.. Quite an expensive one.. Would be worth for sure.. But please preferably show us the affordable options in town 😄
Hi Nikhila, we love to explore great food across all price points. From restaurants that you can go more frequently to those that are great for a special occasion. Most of the establishments that we feature are rather accessibly priced. Hope you enjoyed the watch.
I will go by it once a year for the quality in Bangalore if your bill needs to be down please go to Mangaluru visit the cradle of Karnataka Sea food
Do not think of price give importance to quality and taste , most of the hotel use same masala only meat change , so there can sell them for 1/4 of the price
@@FoodLoversTV So this only for those who have got the easy money at their dispense. Get real man
Very expensive
Real Food lover, like the way you calmly discuss the food and nothing else. I think this was missing from lot of other food shows. Really appreciate your efforts and getting more & more details of food and it's taste.
Keep going...so tempting when you said "we can taste the ocean in this crab"... Your description s are fu....g awesome and tempting...keep going.
I need to spend my 2 years savings to offord this food
Someone calculated that total was 16K. But, he ordered all dishes just for demostration. If two people go for a meal, per head cost should be around 2000 to 3000, for a sufficiently satisfying meal. I am sure you earn way more than that :p
You must be ashamed of yourself then
bangalorean says he cannot afford whreas he earns 30lpa
@@mahadevisutar1436 why do you say that? gold digger. how much do you earn tell that before commenting shit like this?!!!!!
Mahadevi Sutar you are not matured enough to understand what Rajath Gowda really meant is, it’s not worth spending saved money on a restaurant that costs easily 3-4K for a single person to have a good full meal.
If you think rajath Gowda is unable to earn the money to have food in this restaurant then you must be a dumb as no one in this world.
Sir you are one of the best Gourmets in India .
Your explanation of a dish and it’s taste and way of showing the signature dishes of a particular hotel is Simple awesome ...
I love the dishes at karavalli.

Amazing...mouth watering seafood Brunch... awesome
Loved style of mourning when you are tasting the food 😃
I'll visit this restaurant in 50 years when I can afford it..
True, its too costly
True he paid 16400 to all this.😧
@@roopapai4886 and he earns one zero extra from CZcams 😀😀
We wish! 😀
Although the catch in that, after 50 more years, even if you are alive, doctors would have advised you against such greasy food. So, go now instead :)
Marvelously good appetite if the episode was done in one meal. I'm already full looking at all the starters and the main course on the table.
Loved the video and presentation details. 😊
I think dis fest is the most costliest u had.looks fantastic tastiest seafood.👏

Thank you for showing us what Karavali has to offer. It is always nice to have a fellow foodie's opinion before trying out a not so cheap place 😁.

Thank you Pony Flicks!
Your channel is one the best
Dear sir this is perhaps your best video although I have not seen all as I am new to the channel, As a foodie I believe exploring great food is most important and you are doing it. Cost doesn't matter because great things are a little high in price. I believe you don't get such food and ambience everywhere.
Amazing dishes.... Keep on doing the great work sir
Yummm😋..... sir I like your expression after eating 😁👌
Looks so delicious.. M sure it tasted Heavenly.. Dat meal costed more than 15k !! Wow.. Extremely good video though.. Will visit once for sure!! Thnk u for such a detailed review..

Love it
Appreciate the work
Thank you, Harshith. 🙏
U r simply superb sir .big fan of ur videos
The ultimate video of u, the chef was handsome. All the Starters dishes and deserts were looking awesome and colourful and of course mouthwatering. The best part of the video is u ate all them with hand and the disappointing part of the video is that blink of menu i saw and the prices mentioned.
Sir i love your work! Yummy😛😛😛😛😍🙏🙏🙏
I wanna sit at that table & eat all the prawns, calamari rings, fishy & crabs ..........yummmmmmmm!!!😋
This is one of the best of your videos 👌👏
Yes, Karavalli is an expensive place to dine in, but it's one of those delightful experiences that you look forward to after working hard, or saving up for a while, just like you would for a travel adventure. A meal here is one of those luxuries in life which are actually worth it. If you want to celebrate a really special occasion, something that you'd like to remember for a long time, this is it. The ambiance - both inside and outside - truly transport you to a different world, and as for the food, well, it's quite simply some of the tastiest fare you can eat in India.
Spot on, Vinayak. Some restaurants, one can visit often, some perhaps best reserved for a super special occasion. Karavalli belongs to the latter category. 🙂🙏

I order Goan food from Reagan’s and their prices are SO MUCH cheaper and they’re authentic too..as a Goan myself I can just see the food and tell whether it’s ACTUALLY Goan or not and trust me so far nothing from this place that was Goan really looked right as a regular customer of Reagan’s I suggest you all to try them out because it’s ACTUALLY authentic and you get your money’s worth
