I live in Central Texas and cost of living is ridiculous. Looking into a small barndo to build on some land.....land is going for about a minimum of $300K for 5-10 acres, then add another $170 sq.ft. around 1500 sq. ft. = $255K which would give you a total note of around $555,000.00.....good luck paying that off. We live in crazy times.....
Have someone you know to build it they build homes in tulsa oklahoma all the time all sizes find a self employer home builder
You got that right! Land is crazy in Texas. We also pay out the butt in property taxes too.

Land is high everywhere and probably not ever coming back down. May even out but it never comes down.

More videos like this please. These are tough times and these smaller homes are in huge demand. A ballpark price would be great too.
Also heating cost cheaper and cheaper to maintain.. most people don’t need 4000 square feet
The problem with smaller square footages it seems is that builders run up the price to compensate. Just the finished building would be about $204,000. Add in land and a driveway and this smaller home will quickly approach $300,000 if not more.

Agreed with several other comments. More videos regarding “barndos” in the 800 to 1,500 sq ft range. We are both retired and turning 60 this Fall. We travel/camp a great deal and would like a floor plan like this that could also function as an “RV port home”. This would allow us to live comfortably in a smaller home, park the RV under the carport (with full hookups), and then use the RV as a 3rd bedroom and bathroom when our two adult daughters (future husbands, future grandkids, or friends/family) visit. Great floor plan and size!

This is what my sister in law and her husband are doing. They bought a piece of land in Alabama near his family. They have a big, beautiful RV. They want to build a place to park the RV, have a bedroom, living/dining space, full kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom. And also a screen patio. So basically it could be a cabin as long as it has a place for the RV to be protected when not in use, so that it 'ages' slower.

WOW! The house is AMAZING! I wasn't expecting the large living room and bedroom openness with the high ceilings. I LOVE windows and your house gives all the natural lighting LOVE IT! Absolutely love this, my favorite. Would be the perfect size for me and my two dogs.
That is beautiful and very beautifully decorated. Love the accents you can tell they are newlyweds. Not a lot of storage but with property like that I am sure they could get a shed.
I've slowly crept up from 900 sq ft to 1200 and I found that this is the perfect size for my wife and I.
Currently living in a 3,000sq ft home and looking to downsize.
This layout has everything we need but if course couple things I would change to our tastes. Minor changes. Overall and excellent build.

I have a lot in Marble Falls tx...I have house plans but I need a hone with 2 beds 2 showers...do not care about tubs. I need 1200 living ...and a 1 car for a 2 door jeep
...tall enough...cement floors small dining ...kitchen...and a bar ot island for at least 4 stools

I live in Longview and definitely want to do this myself. Was wondering what a 1200 sqft would look like on the inside so definitely appreciate the tour!! love the small size of this home. we are in our 60's and don't need a lot of room. 1 spare bedroom with bath is enough for visits from family and friends.

My wife thinks a house like this looks sterile. She likes it to look "lived in" Luckily her other qualities far outweigh this one as I love the clean look and it has been an issue.
Nice house. Change the washer and dryer to full sized stackable front loaders to use the vertical space and give more room to the side.
