Mariko's mission was to prove to all of Japan that Ishido is a sniveling coward unworthy of support from any clan or high family. And boy did she achieve her mission.
The Shinobi didn't expect Anjin's pistols.
Guns are powerful in touching someone before they can touch you
That and the safe room, that totally screwed what was supposed to be a quick grab
Damn, those Shinobi got their hands on some C4.
"Our swords aren't working on the Anjin! "
😂😂😂
"Terrorists win"
@@darikai219 😂
John fell hard for this woman. He'll never find another like her. Its a given thats it fictional but damn this love story is unlike any ive ever watched
He still has a top waifu 😊
It makes her death easier to bear as she was given one night at least with a man who loved her for who she was. One night of happiness in a life of tragedy
She still has a best waifu that he's not interested in pillowing...
@cjx22 Fuji is too cute to pillow. I wouldn’t feel comfortable.
He did nail someone else eventually as evidenced by his grandkids examining his katana while he's an old man in bed.
Lady Mariko went out like a boss.
Yabu is samurai Starscream
You hate him but you also kinda like him.
Here I hated him tho.
I’m getting real tired of yabushige’s double agent routine
Justice will be served next ep
Yeah..Yabu is a self-serving man and a coward
@@EUGENE304I seen next episode. Justice will be served next episode 😊
Guy just wants to live. Toronaga literally convinced him he was surrendering and thats asking him to march to his death. Man just wants to find a way not to die, as would all of us in that situation.
@@Darklarik3 Whatever he does it seems to help advance Toranaga's plot though. Toranaga saw through him a long time ago and knows how to steer him and John.
them shinobi samas be using strategems
She got blown to smithereens
RIP Mariko-Sama 😭 I hope, you'll finally find your peace and at least, the man who honestly loves you was by your side 😢
Let it be know that Anjin-sama had the last taste of Mariko-Sama's cake. I know who my hatamoto is! xD
I can't believe she was blown up!😮
That thumbnail is wild lmao
💔💔💔💔😔💔
Mariko: 💥💀
Outro music: 🎶😀😊
I don’t know why but this scene was hilarious 😅

Nice compellation.
I wonder if she'll do a new Zealand film one day
If you guys slow the speed and stop at 4:26, you'll see a doll got exploded.
Mariko pulling off that shadow clone jutsu on anjin.
Aw. She's such a doll🥹😍
However they did it. It was awesome.
And here I thought the actress gave her life for this role. Thank you for clearing that up that
I thought it was CGI. Thanks
Why she needlessly dying though man 😩
It kind of was needed.. now she’s kicked off the war and put the higher born families in Toranaga’s favour
@@firstlast9846 A good chunk of the audience doesn’t like to think when they watch.
She has given up on life since her dad was dishonoured and killed. She needs an excuse to die and that's more important than everything else going on. She loves Blackthorne but she's the smartest person on the show who also has an inferiority complex because of being a woman in this case: she knows this will win the war for her master, the fewest amount of people will die, and she will get to stop feeling ashamed. The latter part is the most important thing to her. This is the part of this show that cuts the deepest: if you have lost face in this culture, you might as well be dead. She had considered herself dead for a few years by the time this show starts.
sje i'plode 💀💀
Mariko
Died
He IS a PIRATE!
Depending on which side you’re on
Anyone know what it means when the ninja taps his shoulder with 2 fingers?
Counting seconds till he goes in
I wondered too. Poking the web, someone says it is taken from the book - he's keeping time. The attack has phases and he's holding Kashigi until the next phase, which was for Kashigi to lead the group to the Gate. Instead, Mariko, perhaps figuring that is too obvious an escape route and already cut off, leads them to retreat to a storehouse. Mariko was supposed to have already been taken captive or at least 'disappeared' so her death could not be known.
He's obviously counting
I was happy for her, to finally escape her ex. She got what she wanted, and that was to be rid of her ex
A sacrifice for the greater good 😊
And she went out in faith 🙏🏾💓
Her death was deeper than that but I received it
The 80's version is easier to follow. This is too dark, which is too bad the fight scenes are AWESOME in this series.
Get the door open and stop wasting time ...freeze on place. The team I would not like having
Since it's an entertainment work, I guess it has to be such a flashy direction. There was a similar scene in "The Last Samurai.'' However, this type of assassination is part of the ninja's job, which is misleading. In addition, they may have engaged in sabotage, but the word "nin'' in this case means "to hide or lurk,'' so their main mission seems to have been to gather information and spread false rumors, often by disguising themselves as travelers or merchants, or by settling in a place for decades at a time. In other words, it's like a present spy.
From what I read in Stephen turnbull book on this topic ninjas were more or less feudal japan's version of special forces. During wartime their role was similar to that of the commandos, while during peacetime they were spies. I don't think assasination is too far-fatched as there were a few documented cases of ninjas doing missions as potrayed in this scene

Dirty jobs and dangerous jobs were usually done by lower class people, so there may have been groups that were primarily contracted to assassinations and surprise attacks. However, how about thinking that all ninjas did these things? Drama producers are not satisfied with a plain story, so they tend to want to adopt even partial thing, and it becomes difficult for the common people to know the facts. As research on ninjas continues, I think the reality will become clearer.
@@user-si6fd6lw6e it was not stated that all ninjas did these things. also this is not the only assassination we've seen in the show. there were hired bandits, common soldiers, possibly samurais and a woman staff/spy. also the last one was a big operation, i wouldnt be surprised if the person wanted the best people for the job.
@@mortredpta 様(sama)
The biggest problem is the word ninja. The word ninja was later standardized during the peaceful era. In the past, they were called by various names depending on the region, and strictly speaking, it is unclear who is a ninja. The reality of ninjas changes greatly over time, and the creation and stereotypes created in novels, manga, anime, movies, television, etc. make it even more difficult to understand. That's why I'm not sure if the group of assassins in this scene can really be called ninjas, which is why I'm not convinced by this scene, which makes it seem like assassination is a ninja's main job.
The word ninja wasn’t used until they became popular. Originally they were called shinobi. Shinobi were usually just normal samurai who specialized in night raids, they were a part of the normal army. Think of it like seal team 6.
so far i was enjoying the show but this episode tried way too much. Now i don't expect much from the last episode...
何で丸子様は自分で自殺じゃ?😢😞💔
う〜ん、自分は高潔な血筋って述べてたから殺されようが高貴なままで死ぬって感じ?
She died in the service of Lord Toranaga. The reason behind her death is that it will force Ishido to release the wives of many high level officials and as a result he will lose whatever leverage he had over them.
She pointed out how Ishido took people hostages instead of building respect from his allies. This is the catalyst that causes key allies to abandon Ishido and join Toranaga.
I stopped watching after seeing this. It's a senseless act, and the guy who got everyone killed is running behind them like an idiot. It makes no sense, and I find it both amusing and pathetic. Her getting blown to pieces made me laugh because it was such an unexpected way for her to die. The show was good until this scene. I didn't even bother finishing episode 9 after that. Such dumb acting.
such a pointless death. if she really wanted to make an impact she should have died under shidos men and not just some intruders. anjin will def go on a killing spree next ep with yabu as his trophy.
It may be pointless to you, but to Mariko, it is not. She had always wanted to die but she never wanted her death at the end of man's sword. She wanted to die in her own terms. At least, she finally died with purpose in this episode. She was ready to do her part. Her death is not pointless, bc she believed it was for a greater cause
Its not pointless, its the crimson sky. Mariko dying secured Toranaga's victory. She had just openly defied Ishido and singlehandedly ended the hostage situation. Ishido was trying to kidnap her, but she knew that getting herself killed would make her a martyr and rally everyone to Toranaga's side.
@@deey999 had she died by shidos men sure but she went out in her own terms which wasted all the years of her suffering because her only leverage is her reputation that she could have used to overthrow shido. now that she died by the shinobi they cant blame shido for her death which renders her sacrifice as useless other than her selfish desire to just die. its like jesus died when a random thief stabbed him rather than him getting crucified by the heretics to expose their corruption.
@@adrianleontaveras9599 not if she was killed by “intruders” they cant blame ishido for that. if she died via seppuku cause ishido wont let her leave then yes thats why ishido gave her the permit along with the other prisoners so he wont be exposed that hes keeping them captive. all those years of her suffering wasted.
@@sen-igma6046 the shinobi was sent by Ishido, no? I thought that was very clear. Mariko was meant to be kidnapped only, not killed. But she did. And on top of that, she was Christian. I dont think Ishido's Christian supporters will stay still. The purpose of her death is to plant a rebellion amongst them.
