OMG! The same exact thing happened to me when I cleaned my speed 35 with a product called Lovin My Bags. I have that film on my bag that you described. I felt like I ruined my speedy bag. I am going to try this right now. I hope this works. Thank you so much for this video!

Use distilled water only. Minerals in water (hard water) are responsible for spotting.
Great video - and excellent advice for new/newer vachetta. I think the Lovin' my bags and Applecare methods are more suitable for older and pre-loved bags that have a lot of dark hand oils or other yucky stains.

great tips for vachetta leather. By the way, I use the white eraser on the damier azur canvas when has color transfer and works perfect!! Removes al the stains and color transfer.
+Shamil Buxo Thank you so much! That's great to know it works on the canvas as well. I have only one azur bag but I haven't had any transfer on it yet. I did get transfer once on a vanilla MK bag and I used the magic eraser to remove it. I wouldn't try that on a LV bag though just because it could potentially remove some of print on the canvas. Do u think this method would work if I sprayed the vachetta with apple guard?
Hi Sarah my speedy 40 is two years old and was wiped with baby wipe before and its a dull patina...not a vibrant honey...will this method rewind the damage ...help 😭

Hello! I have always purchased new LV bags, and just bought a used one for my first time. I was very nervous about the condition, but I tried this water method and it worked beautifully. I've seen video's on finishing with the cadillac leather conditioner, but I'm afraid to try it. Have you tried that, and what are your thoughts on the conditioner? Thank you!!

How do you get out a darkening spot on the strap? It's really dark because I tried to remove a stain and it stayed DARK on the strap.

Hi Sarah! I have a Louis Vuitton Tivoli PM. Over the years it got water stains on the handles and trims!😭 Keep in mind that that was my first LV purse that I have ever owned. I'm so scared to death to clean the water stains. I've seen a few LV cleaning videos, but so afraid to clean and mess it up even more. If the bag is already broken in and has a patina that is uneven due to water spots, baby wipes are the way to go. They lift more dirt than water, alone, and some contain skin conditioning ingredients like aloe.

KSBM A probably i just did this in my new artsy since i was at my in laws and i left the bag unattended and someone move it for me to another chair and when i was ready to go i saw horrible stains like from wet hands ...or something I did this metod and it even out Completely the even the patina but it slightly darker you cant even tell but it made it just a tad bit darker almost nothing basically i think if everytime you do it it will make it a tad bit darker is not going to make it honey golden or nothing like that so dont worry

I just got a vintage keepal 55 from my dad but i want to clean it but i am afraid that i ruin the leather ..
How about water repellent? I love the patina look and don't mind waiting for it to age beautifully. However, I don't like water spots at all and wondering if water repellants would aid. I don't expect to use the bags on a rainy day but sometimes it does rains unexpected. If I get caught in the rain would be good to have some level of protection from water marks. Thoughts?
Thanks. I have another question (been watching videos and reading on this for hours) as I just got a brand new bag which is my first monogram LV with Vachetta leather. When the bag ages, and gets that beautiful patina, does one still need to avoid water to prevent marks? trying to find out if the aging process and patina provides some level of protection when it gets old and so water won't stain it.
