The View went so left field, it is unwatchable and has been for years.
We have the same problem with our show in Canada called The Social. Echo chamber. No balance.
Yeah like 10 years...Walters was driven off the show because she couldn't take it anymore
Barbara Walters wanted the View to be many views - not just Sunny and Whoopi's
Remember when whoopie said she thought jill biden was a wonderful doctor? And that's who she use as her personal (medical) doctor if she lived closer. She was serious and then one of those hens told her jill was not a real doctor.
It has never ever been watchable.
I'm a black woman and I'm a conservative. This is EXACTLY the way I'm treated. I'm so proud of this young man❤️
I'm a white guy, and it drives me crazy when leftist white people tell black conservatives what they should be offended by. They don't get the irony.
Yes good for you still can't trust them folks 😮
There's one thing that I know and I can speak on that applies to people of every color and male and female, good people don't want pity, they want RESPECT
When you support the conservatives/Republican party that was the home of Strom Thurmond. The same Strom Thurmond who gave the longest filibuster in history against civil rights legislation. Then you deserve to be called a charlatan if not worse.
Liberal leaning independent here! I gotta be honest. These kinds of conversations are so irritating these days. We've overcorrected so much that the mere mention that someone's race could be one of many personal characteristics -- like their hair color, weight, socioeconomic class, etc -- sounds like a crime. But it just simply doesn't make sense.
Sunny tends to pretty snobby on the View and I didn't like how she approached the conversation. But at the same time, her initial line of questioning was logical: this color blindness theory is damaging. What's the purpose of throwing race out completely? Because Americans owned slaves back in the day and people are sensitive about it today? What's wrong with simply acknowledging that race is one of many factors that makes up an individual?
If the right and left were listening to each other, concepts like "Intersectionalism" that came out of the slightly misguided pink pussycat hat movement would seem like a more accurate description of social issues we see in society. Their premise was that race was amongst several other characteristics such as gender, class, psychological factors, etc that impact our lives.
If you want moderates behind ideas like Coleman's, you won't be successful by denying the obvious. Turns out people hate being gaslit about things they can obviously see with their eyes like someone's eye color or race. Funny example of this is my 4th grade dance teacher that insisted I, a dark skinned black woman who was a little girl at the time, wear the same blush and pink lipstick as my white besties that signed up for ballet with me. She threatened my mom and my mom didn't push back because she had already spent all this money on the class....I look back at the photo and think this 1) I looked like an absolute clown; and 2) this is what "colors blindness" does. It makes stupid dance teachers forget that a black child CLEARLY can't wear the same shade of pink as her white friends.
The View invited Coleman with the aim and belief they could successfully discredit his message... but it seriously backfired 😊
Then gave the entire audience his book.
Too bad for Sunny that Coleman runs intellectual circles around her 😂
Coleman runs intellectual circles around nearly everyone.
@@TheT-lv4mt this is true

She must be embarrassed, and it's killing her to be exposed as a fool for handling it this way. She needs to do better. Can she?

Coleman is “waaaaaaaay” too smart for those hypocrites on The View.
A box of kitchen utensils is waaaaaay too smart for those hypocrites on The Cataracts.

Exactly what I was thinking. Coleman is so far out of their league on this particular topic, it’s not even funny.
They're dummies. Especially, sunny. I still can't believe she got through college 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️

The View is the most racist, divisive show on television!!! Yay for Coleman for holding his own. Going to following him on social media right now!!! 🙌🏽❤
Give an example of how its racist?
@@krane15 They sure as heck express hatred for the white race every chance they get, they also always paint blacks as victims, as to suggest blacks have no ability and capabilities of their own etc. Now, how is this *not* racist?
Watch the show or better yet, watch this clip you're commenting on. @krane15
@krane15 are you watching this with your eyes closed?? This is one instance of many. Basically every other segment is race baiting which is, in itself, a racist tactic. The show is pure garbage and is an absolute joke.
The condescending attitude is just insufferable. Haven’t seen something that’s made me cringe so hard in a while.
Thanks to all of you who are sharing how regular folks feel! This is an awesome episode!!
I wondered why Greg Gutfeld is always making fun of The View, since I don't watch it. Now I have a much better idea. Bravo, Coleman Hughes and shame on the women of the View.
The View only has 1 view.
Their 'view' is through 'racist' eyes with a huge dose of TDS. They're disgusting.
The View is Sumo Wrestlers pretending to be chicks.
Exactly!
Probably why its singular View, not plural views. They aren't interested in better understanding between people or understanding others with alternative beliefs, they are only interested in disrespectful, condescending and bigoted reinforcement of their fraudulent, destructive, racist, sexist, divisive narrative. They are all frauds and part of why things are so bad here right now.
They ought to call it 'THE View'
Sunny is a condescending elitist and the prime reason why I no longer watch The View.
Nailed it!
You are right - seriously Sunny is not as bright as she thinks she is and loves the sound of her voice.
Sunny Holstei isn't even a woman of colour....
Her family had slaves Trump’s didn’t but let her tell the Blk man how to vote cause if she can’t legally own them she will mentally.
Can’t stand that horrid woman.
Never heard of Coleman but man, he’s impressive. Perhaps my emotional IQ is just that low, but I can’t imagine keeping the composure that he did and being so eloquent in response. I think that was best case scenario of him going on that show - he was blessed with an opportunity to make his case in a calm, collected way and also showed true class in how he handled that interview. Emotionally and logically straight up buried Sunny.

Really good discussion. I was always very left wing. And back in the day I might have wondered if Coleman had been co-opted. But all you have to do is listen to him speak and read his writings. And we need all Americans, Conservative, Liberal, what ever to work together. We need to do this.
The FACT that Sonny's family history is rich in the slave trade speaks volumes. I'd remind her of that.
And that's where a root of her racism + bitterness comes from. She reeks of it:

It was so great watching Sunny find out that fact hahaha pay up those reparations Sunny!

I just saw The View clip with Coleman. I had missed this. I jumped on Twitter just to follow him. i'm 70. My third grade teacher had the class read a story called The Girl In The Green Dress. I have never been able to find it, but she was just like us. Fears, family, love, etc. You grow to really like her. Only at the end of the story do you learn she is black. I was 8 years old. I will always love her for that lesson in love. She was important. Her race was secondary.
"I read it twice, because I wanted to give it a chance!?", "I want to give you an opportunity .... " Omg, Sunny is a condensing, arrogant narcissist, she's nothing but insults. I was shocked the audience clapped for him.
I read your comment twice and agreed both times.
100% correct but you forgot virulent hateful racist as well.
Sunny Hostin suffers from the Dunning- Kruger Effect and she habitually judges persons by the color of their skin.
She also looks for racism in everything and then finds it when it's not there. Check out the ugly face scar job interview experiment.
What's really amusing Sunny Hostin isn't black or mixed race.
The vast majority of her Puerto Riccian ancestors were Spanish with a few African ancestors.
Her Spanish ancestors own slaves for generations.
Which means by her own logic & demands she now owes reparations.

Good point!
And it certainly isn't about what's out the window. I believe it is a deliberate attempt to create controversy, so people will be talking about it long after the show goes to air.
Quite true. The built-in promotion of their cognitive bias is implicit in the title of the show, as though there is only ONE view and you damn well sure better align with it or you don't get to play -- or at the very least they'll do their best to ridicule a position by disparaging the messenger and not the message.

Because she didn't agree with him didn't mean she didn't like him
I'm Southern. I was raised by nannies. They were black. I loved them and have loving memories of them to this day. I'm sixty six. My father was a civil rights lawyer. I never knew there was racism in the world until I was four. My sweet nanny was not allowed to eat at the drug store. I sobbed and sobbed for the situation. She was calm and gracious. She changed people's minds about race. She was so gracious that she shamed those people. I'm so glad things have changed and they have changed. Racism in every form needs to stop and stop now. Were you taught only about black slavery in the US? If so, it was a shortcoming and perhaps the reason many black Americans feel they were singled out to suffer and be oppressed, when those who have studied history on slavery the world over, know that slavery was an evil that touched all peoples of all ethnicities and considered part and parcel of those societes which practised it.
Were you taught about the Arab Mulsim slave trade where the African male slaves were castrated, and It's estimated that as many as 6 out of every 10 boys bled to death during this process. Even so, castrating slaves was worthwhile because eunuchs sold for high prices. Over time, the Arab slave trade shifted to concentrate more on women and young girls for sexual purposes. They also captured many white slaves too, not just blacks and those slaves weren't indentured. Then the fact that Africans captured people from other tribes and sold them to the white slave traders who waited on the shore for there was the fear of catching deadly diseases. Also that it was the British who were the first to abolish the slave trade using ships from their navy to intercept slave ships, freeing when possible the slaves aboard. I've watched many a programme when when informed about that it is always met with great disbelief.

If we had made no Progress in this country than how did Obama become President
Ironically, biracial Obama set race relations BACK instead of moving them forward as promised during his campaign. He had one honest day when he pointed out in a Father's Day speech that fatherlessness was a big factor in black kids' dysfunction. Then he went back to Sharpton-Jackson race hustling (they had dozens of White House invitations), blaming whites and holding blacks as blameless victims. What a giant fizzle!
That's where "progress" _stopped,_ was the day Obama was elected -- because from that day forward he became a stooge for the far left, who took seriously his "fundamental transformation of America." The left weaponized Obama as a meme, and no one challenged that because they didn't wanna be accused of racism and get doxxed and outed in the press and have their lives ruined.

Omgoodness, this youngman Coleman Hughes was so amazing. Listening to him as a white 70 year old lady felt for the first time that there is hope in the next generation, and it was not all for nothing. We have struggled for so long, and it makes you weep thinking nothing has made a difference. First time in a very Long time I feel there may be hope for all Americans. Maybe if we could rid ourselves of the anger and eliminate the naysayers and rabble rousers, Americans may have chance to succeed. Right now, it still looks bleak, but this young man was a ray of hope. Peace begins with me!!! God Bless.
Yeah, I hope that you repeat the same nonsense and put his ass back in chains girl bye
Coleman’s whole approach, it seems to me, is “DON”T assume that because I am black that I think this. that or another. As for Whoopi’s stance. I am a white southerner who is twenty years older than she, and I know from my personal observations how much better the situation has become since the 1950s. One major reason is that so many white racists, the people with a deep hatred of blacks. have now died. With luck, by the time her generation disappears, whites and blacks, race will be a minor consideration. Unless they try to take political advantage of whites who see blacks such as she as tools of a largely white elite class that threatens them. I see Coleman as far more confident of his powers than she is of hers.
I pray that you are right there are not many older white people that think like you, thinking every one should be treated equally.
@@evelyndonnell5522 Well, even in East Texas there were whites who were liberal minded about race. My own attitudes derived paradoxically because when I was very young we had a black maid who would sometimes take me to her house in Cedar Top. I was pretty precocious but yon enough that she would talked with her friends around me. my lasting impression was that they didn’t sound very different from most whites, at least the working class whites in my neighborhood. If I felt superior to blacks it was because of class feeling. What totally shattered my tolerance of Jim Crow was when the Klan killed those girls in Sunday schools. It was the cowardice of the act.
Love how Coleman told her directly to stop the Ad Hominem attack. I got the feeling she didn’t know what he was saying.
Love it when she says she wants to be honest with Coleman. Shouldn’t that always be the goal? Is she admitting her typical lying tactics?
I'm a 65-year-old white woman who grew up in Elizabeth New Jersey in the 60s we didn't have any problems with different races we all got along he could walk to school we can hang out and play after school no problem
Oh Sunny... she just CANT SHAKE HER *HERITAGE* 🇺🇸🤡🇺🇸🤡🇺🇸
Slave Holder heritage
Yes, exactly and it has even got worse being the descendent of slave owners, she will never live that one down
Yeah, her Black and White self.
@@hitiming The same goes for Kamala but no one says anything about her ancestor who was from Jamaica and had slaves. Also I am tired of them calling her African-American. Her mother was from India thus where she gets her darker skin. And her ancestors from her fathers side were Scottish I think.
Sonny's Ancestors owned slaves
I'm now a Coleman Hughes fan. Thanks for speaking up.
Calm. Clear.Informative and a pleasure to hear a rationally articulated point of view. Shame about the ladies
I'm 62 years old. When i was a kid we were told the black people wanted to be teated like everyone else and not trated based on their skin color. To be color blind. See me as a person, not my skin color. As a kid i guess that people were treated by their skin color. I didn't see it. The grade school i went to was at least half black. All the kids hung out together. Never not played with someone because of skin color. I have lived my life treating everyone like i wanted to be treated. Now, we are hearing the opposite. I am black and proud. See my blackness. We want to be separated from eveyone else (at least from whites). Ok. I see more racism now that i have ever seen in my life. Its not coming from white people. Its coming from black people. What happened in the past 50 years happen for these feelings to be so angry? There arent people being lynched. I havent seen people being turned down for jobs based on skin color. Its based on abilities. That is based on my friends feelings also, black, white, hispanic... so what happened?
Same here, so much so we have a big happy blended family. There's White, Black and Hispanic in our family. Never did we have to make a big deal out of anyone's race. Now just in the last 8 years before Trump then all the division they tried to stir up when he won and really bad since Biden started running that's all they talk about!!! But that's OK tho because we are all of every race are waking up to what's going on now. Thank God.
I think Jesus said it best. The golden rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
They’ve been brainwashed by the left, and mass media into feeling oppressed.
As long as folks talk about race and put race at the forefront it will continue to perpetuate racism. The day we not look at color and stop pushing the race card we then will be free.
Me too! I’m 70 and was born in Memphis, TN! My mother was from Mississippi and Dad from Memphis, but I grew up in AZ. All my friends black and white would sit on our porch and talk for hours. My matron of honor at our 1976 wedding was a black woman. I see a person…even if they are purple who cares! This racism thing is made worse by people with agendas. I am white.
I'm 67 and we were absolutely taught about about the history of slavery and black peoples struggles through the civil rights movement. During that time being colored blind was something the whole movement wanted.
You can't advance leftism without victims. Convince someone they're oppressed, point out the oppressors, and you'll have them eating out of your hands.
Race was a non-issue by the late 90s/early 2000s, and with the advent of social media that all changed -- because after the 2000 election the far left was bound and determined to take another stab at "burning this bitch down." Racism was the tried and true vehicle through which they'd accomplish their objectives. Peel back the onion and you soon discover that "racism" and "oppressed vs. oppressor" is nothing more than a redux of "the proletariat vs. the bourgeoisie." Marxism in drag. And the proponents have been quite up front with that.
When they holler "justice" and "equity" what they're really hollering for is homogeneity -- a zero-sum game in which individual rights are taken from one group and redistributed to another by force of the State in order to achieve social and economic parity. They call it "progressive" despite the fact that this political ideology has been around for 184 years now and has never worked -- without the application of force by the government. Coleman Hughes is much more even-handed about this, and from that comes the strength of his argument.
💥💥👍👍
Exactly, I am 60 and we were taught black history in NC
I'm nearly 70. I live in Sydney, so can give you an outsider's observation of the US.
I've been following US politics since the Watergate scandal brought Tricky Dickie unstuck. Furthermore, I've been to and through a good swathe of the country on a good number of occasions from 1984.
But the main point I want to make is that I have a vivid recollection of watching the HBO's News Hour back in 1987, and for 15 miniutes there were two federal politicians, and a professor of History from George Washington University openly discussing the history of slavery. And the academic was talking about the student carriculum.
An entire year learning about slavery and Holocaust.... really? Where?
This is exactly how we get out of USING that *RACIAL RACISM CARD*
Time for all “PEOPLE” to have respect for all of us HERE & NOW
Bravo Mr Coleman, smart and non biased 🥰
**Excellent discussion on dealing with facts not feelings **
I was really amazed at the news that Sunny can read!
'Sunny Hostile' ... Well done Megyn! That was too hilarious. 😁 I've also heard people refer to her as 'Cloudy Hostin' ... 'Foggy Hostin' .. etc.
No Whoopi. Racism is over and done. You've gotta learn to let the hatred go. Jesus. Keep it up Coleman. You're the man.
There will be major changes at "The View" given the age of Whoopi and Joy who is in her 80's and still looks fabulous. LOL.
Racism is over and done? Does it not exist anymore? 🤷🏻♂️
It's not over and done with. But it does no good to seek it out at every turn. Way too much life to be lived.
I'm just disgusted with the ignorance of the view panel and I never watched a single show.😮😂
