    You dont really need this guy. You can also hook one of your speakers up to the network wired, and have the same sonos network. If you hook one of your speaker up to the network wired, sonos makes his own network as well. Simpely connect one (doenst really matter wich one) speaker to the network via a cable, and the whole system automaticly will connect to their own sonos network. And every speaker, works as a network boost, so the network is stable as a rock! The boost is very handy if you want to extend the reach of the network, or is you dont have place for a speaker near a wired network outlet. Its hard to find on the internet, but I hooked my system up like that, and it works great! I bought the Boost as well, but returned it, because this helped me with the network issues I had. Save yourself the 100 bucks, and try it like that!

      +Ben Rodenburg I agree. However you can’t always hook up your speakers via Ethernet wire. Like me I wouldn’t want to run a cable all the way to a switch or router. I have 8 SONOS speakers it would be insane if I wired all of them, since they are spread all over my home. You buy the boost if you have multiple SONOS speakers which are spread throughout your home and have bad connection. Since the Boost uses a 2.4 frequency it boost the network to all of your speakers.

    Does the boost need to be plugged into my router or can I just plug it into a wall socket in the room I have drop out?

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 6 lety +1

      John B the boost just needs to be plugged into any of the Sonos soundbars via Ethernet wire and yes it also requires power. Hope this helped, sorry for the late response ;)

    I have one but have not yet conner o the new network on your controlling devices such as your iPhone, computer, etc., or will they somehow still control the Sonos devices while connected to your regular home network?

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 6 lety

      The Boost creates its own network, only for SONOS products, so none of your devices will interfere with one another

    • @skykink

      I do understand that but my question is this: I use my iPhone, iPad and iMax to control my Sonos speakers. Do I know have to switch them to the Sonos dedicated network to control the Sonos speakers or will they still control the speakers if I leave them on my home network as they are now.

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 6 lety

      +Sandy Scott nothing will change u will still be able to control your speakers via iPhone, that is how I control mine. It will not effect your home network. Hope that answered your question.

    • @skykink
      @skykink Před 6 lety

      Just to clarify, I know that I will be able to do that, but must I put the iPhone on the Sonos network to do that? It would seem that if I left it where it is now - my home network - it would not communicate cross-network, with the Sonos unless I switched the phone to the Sonos network.

      @KosherTech  Před 6 lety

      Once you connect the Boost you will add it to your WiFi network. I don't think it will effect your current network, i mean it shouldn't. My best suggestion to you is to buy it and see if it changes anything.

    I'm looking for a wireless network to connect to my Yamaha as501 amp, will this work?

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 6 lety

      amclellan84 No it will not work. The boost is only for sonos products. Remember it's spreads out its 2.4Gz wifi signal only to sonos products. However if you buy the sonos connect you can hook that up to your receiver and it will create a wifi network. Moreover you can also purchase the connect amp, you can hook that up to your existing speakers and it will become a wireless network. Keep in mind the connect amp is $500 and the connect is $350, they are not cheap. You can also find them in Best Buy as open box products, that can save you some $.

      You can do that with a Sonos Connect.

    I have everything wired except two MOVE speakers out of wifi range of WIFI. If I wire a boost near those speakers, will I have to switch between the network my other speakers are wired into and the SONOSNET to control wireless? That is a deal killer.

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 3 lety +1

      Just put the two move speakers onto that boost connection

      And no switching between networks with SONOS app?

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 3 lety

      Nah u won't have to. Just add the two moves to the boost network and it will switch automatic. Or u can just connect the entire network to the boost like how I have it.

    I’m getting frustrated with Sonos. I have a pair of Sonos Ones and a SUB in my bedroom where the router is for my house. In another room I have a Sonos Connect which I want to use to stream music to a headphone setup. I don’t know if the issue is my wi-fi or the app but the headphone setup hardly ever works and the app seems to constantly forget it’s been setup before so it is always searching and telling me it doesn’t work. I bought the BOOST as a last ditch effort and so far can figure out how to make it work. Right now I have the BOOST connected to my router via Ethernet in the bedroom. I have set it up several times already but it has not improved the situation with the headphone setup. Any suggestions?

    • @KosherTech
      @KosherTech  Před 6 lety

      Evan Zamir did you try calling SONOS support? I really don't know too much about the connect. All I know is you hook it up to your receiver and make it digital instead of analog. Sorry that I can't be more helpful.
