Robin lives every note he plays and with Dewar's vocals they make beautiful soulful music
Trower spends a lot of time sculpting his tone, from his Strat, his pedals and amp…but his main weapon is soul. He exudes so much emotion through what are essentially blues licks, and it’s SO powerful 😁🎸👍
Saw Robin Trower at the 1975 Reading Festival along with Hawkwind, Yes, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Supertramp and Joan Armatrading. It rained all festival, but when Trower came on Sunday afternoon, the sun came out and everything changed.
I was there too man! 2 main stages if I recall, so kind of a double headliner and Robin played as first headliner and Wishbone Ash finished the evening with a kind of 'Live Dates' live set. Brilliant festival. Climax Blues Band, Mahavishnu and some others I don't recall. Hope I've got that right. Long long time ago. We drove back about 6 up in a mini and nearly tanked it on the M4. Robin was and is one of my all time fave players. Saw him a few years ago in a small club here in Germany. Waaaaay too loud for the place, but whatcha gonna do? Its Robin bloody Trower! I was at his Wembley Empire Pool gig some time in 75/76 and after that I think Melody Maker, or Sounds, said it was the loudest indoor gig (of the time to date). Not so sure about that. Anyway, John Miles was opening for Robin that night and on the tour and he was bloody excellent as well

I met Robin years ago ... what a nice friendly guy ... genius guitarist .... he is a health conscious guy ... James Dewar is the vocalist . Lisa Dewar and I use to e mail each other . I have the tablature for this emotional song
Very cool!! Trower is one of my guitar heroes wish I could meet him and Dewar one of my favorite vocalists, what a soulful voice.
Heavy duty from Robin, the pace might be dirge like to start but the sound is gigantic. He is a living ad for Fender Stratocaster guitars. Same album, off the other side is Sinner's Song, which has his most underrated solo in it, he just lets it rip, where he can be great at restraint and building tension in a tune, this time he shocked me after his somewhat more subdued Procal Harem days. Great artist, this entire album and Bridge of Sighs are worth a full review. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎶

I was a fan of Procol Harum anyways, so when Robin went solo I was automatically drawn to getting the album which I did on the release date here in the UK. But, hand on heart, I don't think ANYTHING prepared me for what he gave us then. The opening bars of THIS song hooked me as a fan for life and here I still am, 71 in 8 days, and off to see him again in concert in Islington on 28th May. I really dread to think how my life would have panned out without Robin's music over the years to help keep me grounded.

That was nice, don't think I've ever seen anyone react to this one, my sentimental favorite Trower song and 1st one I ever heard. It was like a lock in a key, I thought "this is how electric guitar's supposed to sound." Trower's tone & feel, especially here but in general, is the closest to a living breathing thing of anyone I think. It's like it's not notes, it's moods coming out. Love it. And Jimmy Dewar was such a great singer and perfect fit too.

I highly recommend listening to James Dewar's previous band "Stone the Crows" feat the amazing vocals of Maggie Bell (aka the Scottish Janis Joplin), My fav' songs of theirs are: "Raining in Your Heart", "Sad Mary", "Love 74", "Freedom Road", and "Touch of Your Loving Hand".
Brilliant group, Should of been massive especially with Maggie Bell's voice.
This is one killer album where every track on the album is good twice removed from yesterday and bridge of sighs you never have to skip the needle LOL 👍🥁 you guys really should hear the live version of this wow talk about mind blowing !! Hey you guys know I just thought about something people should really give the drummer the original drummer of this band credit Reggie that's the drummer and the reason why I say that because honestly if it wasn't for him being in this band I don't think Robin's first two albums would have been as good as they are because you know that saying the drummer is the one who carries the whole entire band if he doesn't play good the band doesn't play good and that's not taking away from Robin and James because they are both excellent musicians but listen to his playing look at some of their live videos and see what I'm talking about he's a black dude from the West Indies but I just can't pronounce his last name because it's a very weird sounding name lol but yeah I just thought I'd put that out there cuz he is what you call a precise powerhouse drummer !!!🥁🥁 Sorry for those typos lol
