"I bought this smoke machine.. (coughs) I've been sick for two weeks and it's hard to talk without coughing." 🤣🤣 Totally unrelated.
I knew I couldn’t be the only one who caught that!
😂😂😂
@@dandeve Im surprised he didn't seem to catch that one himself. 😂😂
He said that he does his own editing… maybe he did.
@@dandeve Yeeeeeah, so you mean he saw it and refused the temptation to do something with it..? Im not so sure he saw it. You can debate that he DID do something with it, meaning what we noticed was on purpose, but few people actually manage to pull off such minimalist jokes. Personally I love jokes that go "under the radar", whether on purpose or not.
😆
The fog really makes it look so good. It softens the image without having the washed out look of black pro mist filter and allows high contrast still.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO, i was watching Riverdale and noticed it in EVERY SHOT, and then went and researched it....i did the same thing, bought a fog machine for next to nothing used, and the look in POST IS CRAZY... it makes your shots look SOOOOO cinematic, it breaks up your subject from your background so great, and when strong sources of light poke through the haze you can't beat that look....you just have to learn the amount and when and how often to reapply.
I've used a haze machine in my short films & the fog machine looks just as good🙌👏
Hey, I know you!
This is one of those secrets Hollywood people don't like to talk about. We've seen so many behind the scenes documentaries of the making of films but rarely do you see them hazing up an indoor scene. It was only while I was an extra on a Hollywood set that I learned this. They use it in indoor scenes ALL THE TIME. Atmosphere Aerosol is good for when you don't have a place to plud in your fogger.
It's so funny you're talking about this. Because I had no clue how people were doing this either until I took a lighting course last week and they showed this haze machine. Varying in price between $150 and $600. It's awesome to know that the same effect can be done with such a cheap fog machine. Thanks bro! And hey, get better buddy. I love your content.
New subscriber here. I been watching a few of your videos already. I find your channel to be the closest type of filming that I'm aiming to create and achieve once I get a little better and a better camera but I'm still trying to create that same type of feeling. Thanks a lot bro!
Jake, you are genuinely my favourite CZcamsr. Keep up the good work!
That last shot with you sitting in the light beams in the basement was 👌. Never considered using a fog machine before but thanks for the inspiration! I look forward to your future fog machine reviews Frew 😂 - Alex
Jake delivering the high-quality fog juice review content we needed!👌
Thanks for this pointer, you got great results with it!
Indeed, those short clips look like the ones on movies. I really love it! ✨ Anyway, get well soon, Jake!
Would love to see shot examples with and without the fog but using the same lighting
Looks freaking sick. I'm so doing this.
Loved this video! Great tip good sir
Brooo. Jake. Jake! JAKE! These shots were straight outta Hollywood. The light and the silhouette-like shots were so dope.🤌
As always - thank you for creating and sharing this. lightened up my creativity. You are a true CZcams-gem.
I really appreciate your work and genuine, humble and wholesome way of being. Thank you.
Jake I have to say this again.. whatever you film it's so "easy" pleasy comfortable to watch. you rock! thanks for your quality content. get some ginger and lemon with warm water before coffe - my personal powershot when I'm a bit ill and Stay Jake all the way!.
I bought the same fog machine over two years ago and haven’t used it at all in a while. I don’t know why because it’s great. Thank you for the reminder and motivation to use it 😂
im gotta try this out. appreciate the videos!
Great inspiration! Thanks for sharing.
Thst outro was 🤣Looking forward to the next fog machine review. The shots you got with it were great!
These shots are great dude! Nice tip
I mean, it’s definitely more stylized than what a haze machine would give you, but I don’t see why this wouldn’t work for most budget productions. I think it looks great!
Great tool Jake 😉 I will try it 💪🏼 best cinematic greetings from germany
Dude. I am trying to learn Blender 3D and I am really happy that everything I know about photography translates to 3D software and I am always trying to do some volumetric lighting sticking some "fog" everywhere and when I do video and photography I never use fog and never knew the real fog solution was always there waiting for me. Thankyou for this fast reminder.
Same, I love making scenes and practicing with lighting in Blender and I know I can translate that to real life
Love it bro haha shots came out really tight!
Yoo thanks Ryan!
bro. absolutely incredible
more than fog I'd say it's the color grading of the image. however, that fog machine was amazing. definitely using it in my next project. Thanks man!
"Fog machine Review with Frew" and than that outro music you got me laughing so hard :D Love this video as all of your work. Exited for the next one :3 and hope you get healthy soon!
Simply awesome
I'm amazed at how effective this actually was... xD Definitely going to try out on some scenes with my GH5.
Wait, there will be more fog machine reviews!? Let's go!
thank you! party fogs look awesome in real life too haha
I love it Bro!
Great video bro!
I gotta admit , this is pretty cool !
Haha I watch a clip recently where Mark Bone talked about this. Didn’t know those could be so cheap! I’d always be hesitant about setting off the fire alarms even if it is just water Vapor 😅
Sick ambient sound effects 3:10
Thanks!
I love it !!!! I want to buy the smokegenie tho
I'd be so worried the neighbours would call the fire brigade!!! 🤣🤣
Ur so amazing Jake
Brilliant!
Haha! Brilliant. This is one technique I'll never be able to take advantage of in my shoots. I'm allergic to fog machines and get asthma attacks with them. Phooey.
.. right off the bat... i think.. wow.. this is a must tool outdoors.. mountain bikers coming down the single track in the fog.. .. get that baby outside.. and start playing .. then share... please..
If I’m right, those fog machines were the same ones used in the haunted house I worked at in October!
thanks for the inspiration :B
I’m here for the fog reviews
It looks really good! Thanks for the tip Jake! :D
Just a quick question, do you know what product/molecule is released into the air to make the fog? And doesn't it make the room damp and "sticky"?
No it shouldn't leave any residue. Most water based fog/ haze juice is gylcol based. Oil based fog/haze fluid will leave a residue, but I haven't seen that stuff used in nearly 20 years.
@@robertper4102 Oh okay, thank you so much for your answer! :)
Well spent $40.00....subtle rhyming at the end lol. Nice Review Jake Frew.
i have tried the "atmosphere aerosol" but it has that wet residue that smells like kerosene. and trips fire alarms hehehe
fog machine vs black mist filter? thoughts?
Hey Jake my sony a6500 was stolen, should i consider moving to canon for budget option or sony ZV E10 is better all rounder
Is it better fog or haze machine for video?
HOT TIP!! Run water through machine before you put it away- the juice loves to clog.
🤘
Good to know! Thanks!
Can you put vape juice in the fog machine?
Is that a NMO hoodie?
How did your fire-alarms go?
🔥🔥🔥
Check if the haze in a can is oil based. If it is, it can damage equipment
Haze he linked to says water based.
Got one too. Makes me cough.
Well shoot.. I need a fog machine now.
One full year of all fog reviews with Frew…
Count me in. 😶🌫
I LOVE FOG TOO 💨💨💨
Would a diffuser lens filter give you a similar vibe?
I'd say the diffuser filter is a great first step! I've been using a diffusion filter for about a year now, and I love how it looks but it definitely doesn't come close to how good actual haze looks. 🤘
Got the same one but it sets off every single fire alarm
First time I ran a fog machine in my home it set off all of my smoke detectors and one of my neighbors ran over to make sure that my family and I were okay 😂
Is it a fog machine?
I used an ever more budget piece of equipment recently….a friends vape… 😬 I mean it worked.. but somewhat rudimental 😅
Honestly, haze machines aren't that expensive anymore. I use haze machines 3-4 times more often than fog machines, so it's worth paying twice as much.
But will it trigger my smoke alarm?
💜💜💜
Got the same one, they're so good! One just needs to remember to turn off smoke detectors for the times using it.
P.S. the text on your hat say "Poland" in Swedish! 😆
very soon even Days of our lives will be using fog machines on set.... damn
What us french people heard: "can't talk without **coffin**"
Let's hope it's not foreshadowing 😂
*adds this to the list on amazon....
Is this stuff safe to breathe??
good
One year from today: "FogDaddyFrew here with another *cough* DANK fog machine review. This week We've got the Bayou Blaster which allows you to dispel up to 15mg of THC per hour"
Cool video bro... I ain't blowing smoke 😏 #subbed
Next week join us for Jake's new CZcams series, "The History of the Fog Machine". Jk Jake, it's interesting the things we never think of to add different elements in a video!✌️
😂😂
Thank you for this…..
Over doing 😊
Your sound like Bengawan solo.?
haze in a can
Give me alllllz the 💨
So recently I made this purchase that made my cinematography improve I bought… a house thanks for watching
Every time I want to do this I get scared of fucking up my camera and the electronics in the room.
Oh, it's about smoke machines
wET DOWN IS THE NEXT step
Looks great. But apparantly it makes you sick 😅😂
Instead of a fog machine you could just buy some cigarettes and smoke. Now you have a character that's smoking out the stress and you have cool smoke composition. And asthma
I would rather use frankincense that is natural and smells good.🤔
All you need is a smoke ... $40 ... so shooting with your blackmagic pro never got cheaper.
too early lol
Bruh, want some real fog? Go to Home Depot, purchase the Coleman propane powered Bug Fogger and put mineral oil (baby oil) in it. Thank me later. 😎🔥
the @philipdefranco audio in the background😁
hahahhaha same thing i do... @PhilipDeFranco lol!
