A very atmospheric place If you stand in silence you can almost here the clanging of Swords and you can imagine the turmoil, the Fear and the Death all around, I would not have wanted to have been here in 1746.

I often wonder if the Jacobites had a sense of doom or victory. And if Bonnie Prince Charlie hadn’t been talked down about advancing from Derby to London would things have turned out differently? In my mind, Cullodon was a dark day in British history.
